Ibn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The strongest form of dutifulness is when a man maintains relations with the people his father loved."

أَنَّ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَبَرُّ الْبِرِّ أَنْ يَصِلَ الرَّجُلُ وُدَّ أَبِيهِ
One of the finest acts of kindness is for a man to treat his father’s friends in a kindly way after he has departed.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَبَرَّ الْبِرِّ صِلَةُ الْمَرْءِ أَهْلَ وُدِّ أَبِيهِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يُوَلِّيَ
the Prophet said: "Among the most dutiful of deeds is that a man nurture relations with the people his father was friends with."
