'Abdullah ibn 'Amr said, "A man came to the Prophet ﷺ wanting to do jihad. The Prophet asked, 'Are your parents alive?' 'Yes,' he replied. he said, 'Then exert yourself on their behalf.'"
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ فَقَالَ: «أَحَيٌّ وَالِدَاكَ؟» فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ «فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ»

A man said to the Prophet, "Shall I participate in Jihad?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Are your parents living?" The man said, "Yes." the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do Jihad for their benefit."
رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ أُجَاهِدُ قَالَ لَكَ أَبَوَانِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ
Are your parents living? He said: Yes. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You should put in your best efforts (in their) service.
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَسْتَأْذِنُهُ فِي الْجِهَادِ فَقَالَ أَحَىٌّ وَالِدَاكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ
"A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him for permission to go for Jihad. He said: 'Are your parents alive?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then strive for their sake.'"
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَسْتَأْذِنُهُ فِي الْجِهَادِ فَقَالَ أَحَىٌّ وَالِدَاكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ
The name of the narrator Abu al-'Abbas, a poet, is al-Sa'ib b. Farrukh.

A man came to Prophet ﷺ seeking permission to go for Jihad. So he said: 'Do you have parents (living)? ' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then it is for them that you should perform Jihad.'"
