Hudhaifa reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood before us one day and he did not leave anything unsaid (that he had to say) at that very spot which would happen (in the shape of turmoil) up to the Last Hour. Those who had to remember them preserved them in their minds and those who could not remember them forgot them. My friends knew them and there are certain things which slip out of my mind, but I recapitulate them when anyone makes a mention of them just as a person is lost from one's mind but is recalled to him on seeing his face.  

قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَقَامًا مَا تَرَكَ شَيْئًا يَكُونُ فِي مَقَامِهِ ذَلِكَ إِلَى قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ إِلاَّ حَدَّثَ بِهِ حَفِظَهُ مَنْ حَفِظَهُ وَنَسِيَهُ مَنْ نَسِيَهُ قَدْ عَلِمَهُ أَصْحَابِي هَؤُلاَءِ وَإِنَّهُ لَيَكُونُ مِنْهُ الشَّىْءُ قَدْ نَسِيتُهُ فَأَرَاهُ فَأَذْكُرُهُ كَمَا يَذْكُرُ الرَّجُلُ وَجْهَ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا رَآهُ عَرَفَهُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us and delivered a speech in which he did not leave anything before the Hour (Day of Judgment) except that he mentioned it. Whoever heard it, memorized it, and whoever forgot it, forgot it. I see things and remember them just as a man recognizes the face of a person he has not seen for a while and then he sees him and recognizes him.  

قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَقَامًا مَا تَرَكَ فِيهِ شَيْئًا يَكُونُ قَبْلَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا قَدْ ذَكَرَهُ حَفِظَهُ مَنْ حَفِظَهُ وَنَسِيَهُ مَنْ نَسِيَهُ إِنِّي لَأَرَى الشَّيْءَ فَأَذْكُرُهُ كَمَا يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ وَجْهَ الرَّجُلِ غَابَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ رَآهُ فَعَرَفَهُ  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us (to give us an address) and he left out nothing that would happen up to the last hour without telling of it. Some remembered it and some forgot, and these Companions of his have known it. When something of it which I have forgotten happens, I remembered it, just as a man remembers another's face when he is a away and recognizes him when he sees him. "عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ: قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ الله ﷺ مَقَامًا، مَا تَرَكَ شَيْئًا يَكُونُ فِى مَقَامِهِ ذَلِكَ إِلَى قِيَام السَّاعَةِ، إِلَّا حَدَّثَ بِهِ، حَفِظَهُ مَنْ حَفظَهُ، وَنَسِيَهُ مَنْ نَسِيَهُ، وَقَدْ عَلَمَهُ أَصْحَابِى هَؤُلَاءِ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيَكُونُ الشَّئُ قَدْ نَسِيتُهُ، فَأَرَاهُ فَأَذْكُرُهُ، كَمَا يَذْكُرُ الرَّجُلُ وَجْهَ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا رَآهُ عَرَفَهُ".
