[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ seeking his assistance in paying a woman's dowry, and he asked me, "How much did you promise her?" I replied, "I promised her two hundred dirhams." He said, "Even if you were to scoop from a sea of wealth, you would not increase."
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَسْتَعِينُهُ فِي مَهْرِ امْرَأَةٍ فَقَالَ «كَمْ أَصْدَقْتَهَا؟» قَالَ قُلْتُ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ قَالَ «لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَغْرِفُونَ مِنْ بَطَحَانَ مَا زِدْتُمْ»
[Machine] He (referring to a person) came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking his advice regarding the dowry of a woman. The Prophet asked, "How much did you marry her for?" He replied, "Two hundred dirhams." The Prophet said, "If you were to scoop from the valley of Baṭḥān, you would not increase it (the dowry)."
أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَسْتَفْتِيهِ فِي مَهْرِ امْرَأَةٍ فَقَالَ كَمْ أَمْهَرْتَهَا؟ قَالَ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ فَقَالَ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَغْرِفُونَ مِنْ بَطَحَانَ مَا زِدْتُمْ
[Machine] He came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking his assistance in obtaining the dowry for a woman. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "How much did you marry her for?" He replied, "Two hundred dirhams." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "If you were to scoop from the ocean, you would not increase."
أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَسْتَعِينُهُ فِي مَهْرِ امْرَأَةٍ فَقَالَ «كَمْ أَمْهَرْتَهَا؟» فَقَالَ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ فَقَالَ ﷺ «لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَغْرِفُونَ مِنْ بُطْحَانَ مَا زِدْتُمْ»
[Machine] He came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking his assistance in the dowry of a woman. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "How much have you paid as her dowry?" He replied, "Two hundred silver coins." The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you were to bring from a large water container, it would not increase."
أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَسْتَعِينُهُ فِي مَهْرِ امْرَأَةٍ فَقَالَ كَمْ أَمْهَرْتَهَا فَقَالَ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ قَالَ ﷺ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَغْرِفُونَ مِنْ بُطْحَانَ مَا زِدْتُمْ
" عَنْ أبِى حَدْرَدِ الأسْلَمِىِّ أَنَهُ اسَتَعَانَ رسولَ الله ﷺ في نِكَاحٍ فَقَالَ: كَمْ أصْدَقْتَ؟ قَالَ: مِائَتَىْ دِرْهمٍ، فَقَالَ: لو كنتُمْ تَغْرِفُونَ مِنْ بَطحَان مَا زِدْتُمْ".
