٦۔ بَابُ الْجِيمِ ص ١١
مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] "When the Prophet ﷺ finished attending the funeral of Ibn Duhdah, a saddled mare was brought to him, and he mounted it while we were walking around him."
«لَمَّا انْصَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ جِنَازَةِ ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ أُتِيَ بِفَرَسٍ مُعْرَوْرًى فَرَكِبَهُ وَنَحْنُ نَمْشِي حَوْلَهُ»
أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ giving a sermon while sitting, except on Fridays. He would deliver the sermon while standing, then sit down, and then stand up again to give another sermon. There would be a pause between the two sermons."
«مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ قَطُّ إِلَّا قَائِمًا فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَكَانَ يَخْطُبُ ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ خُطْبَتَيْنِ بَيْنَهُمَا قَعْدَةٌ»
عَنْبَسَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] I said to Jabir bin Samurah, "Were you remembering poetry in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" He said, "Yes, we used to remember poetry in his presence, and he would laugh and smile."
قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ هَلْ كُنْتُمْ تَذْكُرُونَ الشِّعْرَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ «كُنَّا نَذْكُرُ عِنْدَهُ الْأَشْعَارَ فَنَضْحَكُ ويَبْتَسِمُ»
نَاصِحٌ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ would not start the day of Eid-al-Fitr (the Feast of Breaking the Fast) without eating seven dates."
«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا يَغْدُو يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ حَتَّى يَأْكُلَ سَبْعَ تَمَرَاتٍ»
6.5.22 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٢٢ دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ
“While he was standing.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1103)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ خُطْبَتَيْنِ يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَهُمَا»
"The Messenger of Allah went our to the funeral of Ibn Ad-Dahdah, and when he came back an unsaddled horse was brought to him, so he rode and we walked with him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2026)
«خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى جِنَازَةِ ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ أُتِيَ بِفَرَسٍ مُعْرَوْرًى فَرَكِبَهُ وَمَشَيْنَا»
6.5.24 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٢٤ نُصَيْرُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walking with a funeral and he rode a horse when he approached, a horse that had nothing on it except a saddle."
«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَشَى مَعَ جِنَازَةٍ وَرَكِبَ حِينَ أَقْبَلَ فَرَسًا عَرِيًّا لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا لِجَامُهُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Verily, I know a rock in Mecca that used to greet me when I was sent as a prophet."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ حَجَرًا بِمَكَّةَ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ حِينَ بُعِثْتُ»
6.5.25 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٢٥ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This religion will continue to exist, and a group from among the Muslims will fight for it until the Hour is established."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الدِّينُ قَائِمًا يُقَاتِلُ عَلَيْهِ عِصَابَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ»
[Machine] As if I am looking at the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his turban hitting this place, and he struck his hand on his chest above his two breasts.
«كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى شَعْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَجُمَّتِهِ يَضْرِبُ هَذَا الْمَكَانَ وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى صَدْرِهِ فَوْقَ ثَدْيَيْهِ»
I and the Last Hour have been sent like this and (he while doing it) joined the forefinger with the middle finger. (Using translation from Muslim 2951e)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةُ كَهَاتَيْنِ وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ السَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى»
6.5.26 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٢٦ عَنْبَسَةُ بْنُ الْأَزْهَرِ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to remain silent, and they would speak about matters of ignorance and laugh and smile with him.
«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُطِيلُ الصَّمْتَ فَيَتَحَدَّثُونَ بِأَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَيَضْحَكُونَ ويَبْتَسِمُ مَعَهُمْ»
[Machine] Jabir ibn Samurah reported, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite during the Fajr prayer with 'Qaf'."
جَابِرُ بْنُ سَمُرَةَ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ بِ ق»
6.5.28 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٢٨ زِيَادُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
Behold, I shall be present ahead of you on the Cistern, and the distance between its different sides would be like that between Sana' and Aila, and its jugs would be like stars in the sky. (Using translation from Muslim 2305a)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَإِنَّ بُعْدَ مَا بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ كَمَا بَيْنَ صَنْعَاءَ وَأَيْلَةَ كَأَنَّ الْأَبَارِيقَ فِيهِ النُّجُومُ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to stand on the pulpit, deliver a sermon, sit, stand again and deliver another sermon, and then sit between the sermons.
«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقُومُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَيَخْطُبُ ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ»
[Machine] The Prophet, ﷺ , used to recite from the book of Allah and remind the people when delivering the sermon on Fridays.
«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا خَطَبَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يَقْرَأُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ وَيُذَكِّرُ النَّاسَ»
I used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and both his prayer and sermon were of moderate length. (Using translation from Muslim 866a)
«كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الصَّلَوَاتِ وَكَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ قَصْدًا وَخُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا»
"When the Prophet prayed Fajr he would remain seated where he had prayed until the sun had risen." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 585)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ قَعَدَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ»
6.5.29 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٢٩ زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Indeed, after me there will be twelve leaders." Then he said a word, so I asked my father, and he said, "All of them will be from the Quraysh tribe."
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ سيقومُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ قَالَ كَلِمَةً فَسَأَلْتُ أَبِي فَقَالَ «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ did not pass away until he had performed the prayer sitting.
«مَا مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى صَلَّى قَاعِدًا»
[Machine] I saw the seal on the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, it was the size of a pigeon's egg.
«رَأَيْتُ الْخَاتَمَ فِي ظَهْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِثْلَ بَيْضَةِ الْحَمَامَةِ»
[Machine] "We prayed upon the son of Addahdah, a man from the Ansar. When we finished, a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a horse that he had ridden upon when he returned from the funeral."
«صَلَّيْنَا عَلَى ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغْنَا مِنْهُ أَتَى رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِفَرَسٍ حَصَانٍ فَرَكِبَهُ حِينَ رَجَعَ مِنَ الْجِنَازَةِ»
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "This matter will continue to exist, with a group of Muslims fighting for it, until the Hour is established."
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَنْ يَزَالَ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ قَائِمًا يُقَاتِلُ عَلَيْهِ عِصَابَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ»
6.5.30 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٣٠ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ حَيٍّ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never used to deliver a sermon while sitting; he would always stand."
«لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ إِلَّا وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ»
[Machine] I have never seen the Messenger of Allah stand up from the place where he prays Fajr until the sun rises, then he stands.
«لَمْ أَرَ رَسُولَ اللهِ يَوْمًا يَقُومُ مِنْ مَكَانِهِ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي فِيهِ الْفَجْرَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ»
6.5.32 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٣٢ شَيْبَانُ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not lengthen the sermon on Friday. He would say a few words. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1107)
«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا يُطِيلُ الْمَوْعِظَةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِنَّمَا هِيَ كَلِمَاتٌ يَسِيرَاتٌ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Asr slightly before your prayer, and he used to pray Maghrib slightly before your prayer, and he used to delay Isha prayer a bit after your prayer. Bilal used to delay the Dhuhr prayer until the sun's heat disappeared, not exceeding its prescribed time. As for the call to prayer, sometimes the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would hurry and sometimes he would delay it.
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَلَاتِكُمْ وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي الْمَغْرِبَ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَلَاتِكُمْ وَكَانَ يُؤَخِّرُ الْعِشَاءَ عَنْ صَلَاتِكُمْ شَيْئًا وَكَانَ بِلَالٌ يُؤَخِّرُ الظُّهْرَ حَتَّى تَدْحَضَ الشَّمْسُ لَا يَخْرِمُ عَنْ وَقْتٍ وَاحِدٍ فَأَمَّا الْإِقَامَةُ فَرُبَّمَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَعَجَّلَ وَرُبَّمَا أَخَّرَ»
[Machine] I said to him, "Were you sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said, "Yes, and he used to be silent for long periods."
قُلْتُ لَهُ أَكُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَكَانَ طَوِيلَ الصَّمْتِ»
[Machine] I said to him, "Were you used to sitting with the Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Yes, and he was long in silence."
قُلْتُ لَهُ أَكُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَكَانَ طَوِيلَ الصَّمْتِ»
[Machine] That the prophet ﷺ returned from the funeral of Ibn Dahdah on a naked horse.
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَجَعَ مِنْ جِنَازَةِ ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ عَلَى فَرَسٍ عُرْيٍ»
[Machine] “He used to pray Fajr and then sit until the sunrise.”
«أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْفَجْرَ ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ إِلَى طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "White Yemenite should be conquered by a group of Muslims."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَيُفْتَحَنَّ أَبْيَضُ كِسْرَى عَلَى طَائِفَةٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ»
[Machine] I asked Jabir ibn Samurah, "How was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah?" He said, "His sermon was concise, and his prayer was concise."
قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «كَانَتْ خُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا وَصَلَاتُهُ قَصْدًا»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ climbed the pulpit and said, "Ameen, ameen, ameen." He ﷺ said, "Jibreel came to me and said, 'O Muhammad, whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and does not have his sins forgiven and enter Paradise, may Allah distance him.' So I said, 'Ameen.' He ﷺ said, 'O Muhammad, whoever has his parents, either one or both, reaching old age in his life and he does not honor them and receive their compassion, may Allah distance him.' So I said, 'Ameen.' He ﷺ said, 'O Muhammad, whoever has your name mentioned in his presence and he does not send blessings upon you, may Allah distance him.' So I said, 'Ameen.'"
صَعِدَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمِنْبَرَ فَقَالَ «آمِينَ آمِينَ آمِينَ» قَالَ أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ أَحَدَ وَالِدَيْهِ فَمَاتَ فَدَخَلَ النَّارَ فَأَبْعَدَهُ اللهُ قُلْ آمِينَ فَقُلْتُ آمِينَ قَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ فَمَاتَ فَلَمْ يُغْفَرْ لَهُ فَأُدْخِلَ النَّارَ فَأَبْعَدَهُ اللهُ قُلْ آمِينَ فَقُلْتُ آمِينَ قَالَ وَمَنْ ذُكِرْتَ عِنْدَهُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْكَ فَمَاتَ فَدَخَلَ النَّارَ فَأَبْعَدَهُ اللهُ قُلْ آمِينَ فَقُلْتُ آمِينَ
6.5.33 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٣٣ قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ الْأَسَدِيُّ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his leather slippers (when doing wudoo’). (Using translation from Aḥmad 216)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ»
"The two shins of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were thin, and he would not laugh except as a smile, and whenever I looked at him I would say: "He put kohl on his eyes,' but he ﷺ did not use kohl." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3645)
كَانَ فِي سَاقَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حُمُوشَةٌ وَكَانَ «لَا يَضْحَكُ إِلَّا تَبَسُّمًا وَكُنْتُ إِذَا نَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ قُلْتُ أَكْحَلُ الْعَيْنَيْنِ وَلَيْسَ بِأَكْحَلَ» وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ
«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا يَنْبَعِثُ فِي الضَّحِكِ»
6.5.34 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٣٤ حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَأَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon while standing and then sat down."
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ قَعَدَ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights (of Ramadan)."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْتَمِسُوا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ»
6.5.35 Subsection
٦۔٥۔٣٥ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الضَّبِّيُّ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Indeed, in Makkah there is a stone that used to greet me. I would recognize it when I saw it.'"
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ بِمَكَّةَ حَجَرًا يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُهُ إِذَا رَأَيْتُهُ»
[Machine] There was a young man who served the Prophet ﷺ and took care of his needs. The Prophet asked him, "Ask me for something." The young man replied, "Ask Allah, the Almighty, to grant me paradise." The Prophet raised his head, took a deep breath, and said, "Yes, but help me by increasing your prostrations."
كَانَ شَابٌّ يَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَيُخِفُّ فِي حَوَائِجِهِ فَقَالَ «سَلْنِي حَاجَةً» فَقَالَ ادْعُ اللهَ تَعَالَى لِي بِالْجَنَّةِ قَالَ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَتَنَفَّسَ وَقَالَ «نَعَمْ وَلَكِنْ أَعِنِّي بِكَثْرَةِ السُّجُودِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever buries three of their children and remains patient and expects reward from Allah, Paradise is guaranteed for them." Umm Ayman asked, "What about those who bury two children?" He replied, "Whoever buries two children and remains patient and expects reward from Allah, Paradise is guaranteed for them." Umm Ayman asked again, "And what about those who bury only one child?" He remained silent for a while and then said, "I heard Umm Ayman say, 'Whoever buries even one child, remains patient and expects reward from Allah, Paradise is guaranteed for them.'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ دَفَنَ ثَلَاثَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ فَصَبَرَ عَلَيْهِمْ واحْتَسَبَهُمْ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ» فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ أَوِ اثْنَيْنِ قَالَ «وَمَنْ دَفَنَ اثْنَيْنِ فَصَبَرَ عَلَيْهِمَا واحْتَسَبَهُما وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ» فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ أَوْ وَاحِدَةٌ؟ قَالَ فَسَكَتَ أَوْ أَمْسَكَ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ أَيْمَنَ «مَنْ دَفَنَ وَاحِدًا فَصَبَرَ وَاحْتَسَبَ كَانَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered for all the doors of the mosque to be closed except for the door of Ali. Abbas said, "O Messenger of Allah, as much as I enter alone, I also exit alone." He replied, "I was not commanded to do anything in regards to that." So all the doors were closed except for the door of Ali, and it could be that he passed while in a state of impurity.
أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِسَدِّ أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ كُلِّهَا غَيْرَ بَابِ عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَقَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْرَ مَا أدْخُلُ أَنَا وَحْدِي وَأَخْرَجُ قَالَ «مَا أُمِرْتُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ» فَسَدَّهَا كُلَّهَا غَيْرَ بَابِ عَلِيٍّ وَرُبَّمَا مَرَّ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is better for one of you to discipline his child than to give charity every day with half a sa'a to the poor."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَأَنْ يُؤَدِّبَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَلَدَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ بِنِصْفِ صَاعٍ عَلَى مَسَاكِينَ»
[Machine] When the people of Quba asked the Prophet ﷺ to build a mosque for them, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let someone among you bring a camel." Abu Bakr stood up and brought a camel, but when he tried to make it move, it did not respond. So he returned and sat down. Then Umar stood up and brought a camel, but it also did not respond when he tried to make it move. So he returned and sat down. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his companions, "Let someone among you bring a camel." Ali stood up and when he placed his foot on the stirrup, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Ali, hold its reins and build upon its hump, for it is instructed to obey."
لَمَّا سَأَلَ أَهْلُ قُبَاءٍ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنْ يَبْنِيَ لَهُمْ مَسْجِدًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لِيَقُومَ بَعْضُكُمْ فَيَرْكَبَ النَّاقَةَ» فَقَامَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ فَرَكِبَهَا فَحَرَّكَها فَلَمْ تَنْبَعِثْ فَرَجَعَ فَقَعَدَ فَقَامَ عُمَرُ ؓ فَرَكِبَهَا فَحَرَّكَها فَلَمْ تَنْبَعِثْ فَرَجَعَ فَقَعَدَ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِأَصْحَابِهِ «لِيَقُومَ بَعْضُكُمْ فَيَرْكَبَ النَّاقَةَ» فَقَامَ عَلِيٌّ ؓ فَلَمَّا وَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ فِي غَرَزِ الرِّكَابِ وَثَبَّتَ بِهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا عَلِيُّ إِرْخِ زِمَامَهَا وَابْنُوا عَلَى مَدَارِها فَإِنَّهَا مَأْمُورَةٌ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ ascended the pulpit and said, "Ameen, Ameen, Ameen." Then he said, "Gabriel ﷺ came to me and said, 'O Muhammad, whoever finds one or both of his parents in old age and does not enter Paradise (by serving them) is indeed a wretched person.'"
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَقَالَ «آمِينَ آمِينَ آمِينَ» فَقَالَ أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ أَحَدَ وَالِدَيْهِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ali: "You are to me as Haroon is to Musa, except that there will be no prophet after me."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ «أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي»
[Machine] They said, "O Messenger of Allah, who will carry your banner on the Day of Resurrection?" He said, "No one will carry it except for the one who carried it in the world, Ali ibn Abi Talib."
قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ يَحْمِلُ رَايَتَكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ؟ قَالَ «مَنْ يُحْسِنُ أَنْ يَحْمِلَهَا إِلَّا مَنْ حَمَلَهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to Ali, "Who brought misfortune to the people of Thamud?" He replied, "The one who killed the she-camel." The Prophet asked, "And who brings misfortune to this nation?" Ali replied, "Allah knows best." The Prophet said, "Your killer."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ «مَنْ أَشْقَى ثَمُودَ» ؟ قَالَ مَنْ عَقَرَ النَّاقَةَ قَالَ «فَمَنْ أَشَقَى هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةَ؟» قَالَ اللهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «قَاتِلُكَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah said to Ali, "Indeed, you are a successor and indeed, you will be killed, and this (referring to his beard) will be stained with blood from this (pointing to his head)."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ «إِنَّكَ امْرُؤٌ مُسْتَخْلَفٌ وَإِنَّكَ مَقْتُولٌ وَهَذِهِ مَخْضُوبَةٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ» لِحْيَتُهُ مِنْ رَأْسِهِ
