The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not lengthen the sermon on Friday. He would say a few words. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1107)   

الطبراني:٢٠١٥ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الْأَنْمَاطِيُّ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ

«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا يُطِيلُ الْمَوْعِظَةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِنَّمَا هِيَ كَلِمَاتٌ يَسِيرَاتٌ»
