6.6 [Machine] In the virtue of Jarir

٦۔٦ بَابٌ فِي فَضْلِ جَرِيرٍ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not screen himself from me since my embracing Islam, and whenever he saw me he would receive me with a smile. Once I told him that I could not sit firm on horses. He stroke me on the chest with his hand and said, "O Allah! Make him firm and make him a guiding and a rightly guided man." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3035)  

الطبراني:٢٢٢٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَجَلِيِّ قَالَ

«مَا حَجَبَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ وَلَا رَآنِي إِلَّا تَبَسَّمَ»

When we are were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) he looked at the moon on the night when it was full, that is, fourteenth, and said : You will see your Lord as you see this (moon) and have no doubts about seeing him. If, therefore, you can keep from being prevented from prayer before the sun rises and before it sets, do so. He then recited :”Celebrate the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting”. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4729)   

الطبراني:٢٢٢٤حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا أَبِي قَالَا ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ثنا قَيْسٌ قَالَ قَالَ

لِي جَرِيرٌ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا الْقَمَرَ لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلَاتَيْنِ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا» ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا}

كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ الْقَمَرَ لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلَاتَيْنِ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا» ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا}

"We were seated with the Prophet ﷺ when he looked towards the moon on the night of a full moon and said: "Indeed you shall be placed before your Lord and you shall see Him as you see this moon. You will see Him without trouble. So if you are able to keep from becoming overwhelmed from prayer before the rising of the sun and before its setting, then do so." Then he recited: And glorify the praises of your Lord before the setting." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2551)  

الطبراني:٢٢٢٦حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ وَوَكِيعٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ فَقَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّكُمْ سَتُعْرَضُونَ عَلَى رَبِّكُمْ فَتَرَوْنَهُ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا الْقَمَرَ لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلَاةٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ}

الطبراني:٢٢٢٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ وَوَكِيعٌ قَالُوا ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَنْ صَلَاةٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا فَافْعَلُوا» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا}

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You will see your Lord as you see the moon, you will not be harmed by seeing Him."  

الطبراني:٢٢٢٩حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ الْقَمَرَ لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, you will see your Lord on the Day of Judgment and you will not be harmed in seeing Him, just as you do not get harmed in seeing the full moon."  

الطبراني:٢٢٣٢حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ وَعَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ كَمَا تَنْظُرُونَ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ»

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and he looked at the moon on the night of the full moon and said, "Indeed, you will see your Lord on the Day of Resurrection just as you see this moon. You will have no difficulty in seeing Him. So, if you can, do not miss prayers before sunrise and before sunset." Then he recited, "And exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting." Abu Al-Qasim said about this Hadith: "The addition of the word 'clearly' in his statement is a unique narration by Abu Shihab, who is a reliable, precise narrator among the Muslims."  

الطبراني:٢٢٣٣حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْبَزَّارُ ثنا أَبُو شِهَابٍ الْخَيَّاطُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عِيَانًا كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَنْ صَلَاةٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ فَافْعَلُوا» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ} قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ زِيَادَةُ لَفْظَةِ قَوْلِهِ عِيَانًا تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَبُو شِهَابٍ وَهُوَ حَافَظٌ مُتْقِنٌ مِنْ ثِقَاتِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ on the night of the fourteenth of the month, and he said, "Do you see this moon? Indeed, you will see your Lord as you see this moon, without any difficulty in seeing Him. So whoever among you is able to, let him not be overcome by missing a prayer before the rising of the sun and before its setting."  

الطبراني:٢٢٣٤حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ح وثنا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ وَمَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ مِنْ شَهْرٍ فَقَالَ «أَتَرَوْنَ هَذَا الْقَمَرَ؟ فَإِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا الْقَمَرَ لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَمَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ فَلَا يُغْلَبَنَّ عَلَى صَلَاةٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا»

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night, and our sight was enhanced. So, we started looking at the moon on the night of the full moon. He said, "Verily, you all look at your Lord similar to how you look at this moon, without facing any harm or harm upon your vision. So, if you are able to, don't miss the two prayers; the prayer before the sunrise and the prayer before the sunset."  

الطبراني:٢٢٣٥حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَخْرَمُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقِلَّوْرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَا ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَشُخِّصَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا فَجَعَلْنَا نَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ فَقَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّكُمْ تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ كَمَا تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى هَذَا لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلَاتَيْنِ فَافْعَلُوا صَلَاةً قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَصَلَاةً قَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا»

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he looked at the moon on the night of the full moon and said to us, "Indeed, you will see your Lord, just as you see this moon. You will not be hurt by seeing Him."  

الطبراني:٢٢٣٦حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ فَقَالَ لَنَا «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ»
