19.3.81 Subsection
١٩۔٣۔٨١ عَطَاءٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
[Machine] He said, "There is no recitation in the noon and afternoon prayer except with the Mother of the Book." Ibn Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to recite, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had received all the revelations from his Lord."
أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَيْسَ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ قِرَاءَةٌ إِلَّا بِأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَقْرَأَ وَقَدْ بَلَّغَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّهِ»
[Machine] A woman used to collect garbage from the mosque and she passed away. The Prophet ﷺ did not order for her to be buried, so he said "If someone dies among you, inform me." He prayed for her and said, "I have seen her in paradise because she used to collect garbage from the mosque."
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تَلْقِطُ الْقَذَى مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَتُوُفِّيَتْ فَلَمْ يُؤْذَنِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِدَفْنِها فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِذَا مَاتَ فِيكُمْ مَيِّتٌ فآذِنُونِي» وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا وَقَالَ «إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهَا فِي الْجَنَّةِ لِمَا كَانَتْ تَلْقِطُ الْقَذَى مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a parent looks at their child with love, they will be rewarded with the emancipation of a slave." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, what if they look at their child three hundred and sixty times?" He said, "Allah is even more."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا نَظَرَ الْوَالِدُ إِلَى وَلَدِهِ فَسَّرَهُ كَانَ لِلْوَلَدِ عِتْقُ نَسَمَةٍ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنْ نَظَرَ ثَلَاثَمِائَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ نَظْرَةً قَالَ «اللهُ أَكْثَرُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The mother of a child is free, even if she is a slave."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أُمُّ الْوَلَدِ حُرَّةٌ وإِنْ كَانَ سَقْطًا»
[Machine] "Indeed, Allah has favored Muhammad over the people of the sky and the people of the earth." So a man said to him, 'O Abu Abbas, what is his superiority over the people of the sky?' He said, "Indeed, Allah says to the people of the sky, 'And whoever among them says, 'Indeed, I am a god besides Him,' then that is their recompense Hell, thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.' And Allah says to Muhammad, 'Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory, so that Allah may forgive you what preceded of your sin and what will follow...' " Then he said, 'O Abu Abbas, what is his superiority over the prophets?' He said, "Indeed, Allah says, 'And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people.' And Allah says to Muhammad, 'And We have not sent you except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner to all of mankind...' So Allah sent him to the humans and the jinn."
«إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ فَضَّلَ مُحَمَّدًا عَلَى أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ» فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ وَمَا فَضْلُهُ عَلَى أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ؟ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يَقُولُ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ {وَمَنْ يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَهٌ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَذَلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ} وَقَالَ اللهُ ﷻ لِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ {إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبِينًا لِيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ} الْآيَةَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ فَمَا فَضْلُهُ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ؟ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يَقُولُ {وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ} وَقَالَ اللهُ ﷻ لِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ {وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا كَافَّةً لِلنَّاسِ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا} فَأَرْسَلَهُ اللهُ إِلَى الْإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite in the Dhuhr and Asr prayers and he did not command us though he had already conveyed the message.
أَسْمَعْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَلَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا وَقَدْ بَلَّغَ»
[Machine] "I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day the sun was eclipsed, and I did not hear him reciting anything."
«كُنْتُ إِلَى جُنُبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ كُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ لَهُ قِرَاءَةً»
[Machine] The sun darkened during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He stood for a moment, then bowed for a moment, then stood for a moment, then bowed for a moment, then prostrated, and then repeated the same.
كُسِفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «فَقَامَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ رَكَعَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ قَامَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ رَكَعَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ ثُمَّ أَعَادَ مِثْلَهَا»
[Machine] When this verse was revealed, "Do not eat of what has not been dedicated to Allah’s name," Faris sent to the people of Quraysh to challenge Muhammad and say to him, "What you slaughter with your hand using a knife is halal (permissible), and what Allah slaughters with a golden sword is haram (prohibited)." Then this verse was revealed, "Indeed, the devils inspire their allies [among men] to argue with you." He (Muhammad) said, "The devils are from Faris and their allies are from Quraysh."
لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ} أَرْسَلَتْ فَارِسُ إِلَى قُرَيْشٍ أَنْ خاصِمُوا مُحَمَّدًا وَقُولُوا لَهُ مَا تَذْبَحُ أَنْتَ بِيَدِكَ بِسِكِّينٍ فَهُوَ حَلَالٌ وَمَا ذَبَحَ اللهُ بِشَمْشِيرٍ منْ ذَهَبٍ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {وَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ لَيُوحُونَ إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِهِمْ لِيُجَادِلُوكُمْ} قَالَ «الشَّيَاطِينُ منْ فَارِسَ وَأوْلِيَاؤُهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , Allah (may He be glorified and exalted) said: "Whoever knows that I am capable of forgiving sins, I will forgive him, and I do not care as long as he does not associate anything with me."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ مَنْ عَلِمَ أَنِّي ذُو قُدْرَةٍ عَلَى مَغْفِرَةِ الذُّنُوبِ غَفَرْتُ لَهُ وَلَا أُبَالِي مَا لَمْ يُشْرِكْ بِي شَيْئًا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I wish that it (the name of Allah) is in the heart of every person from my Ummah" meaning, Blessed is He in whose hand is the sovereignty.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّهَا فِي قَلْبِ كُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي» يَعْنِي تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ
[Machine] The following passage is a saying of the Prophet Muhammad: "Whoever goes against the religion of the Muslims, strike his neck." And he also said, "When someone testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, there is no way for him except that he carries out something and faces its consequences."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ قَالَ «مَنْ خَالَفَ دِينُهُ دِينَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ» وَقَالَ «إِذَا شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ فَلَا سَبِيلَ إِلَيْهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْتِيَ شَيْئًا فَيُقَامُ عَلَيْهِ حَدُّهُ»
[Machine] Some of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ passed away. Ishaq said, "I think her name was Safiyyah bint Huyayy from Madinah." So, I went to Ibn Abbas and informed him. He prostrated and I asked him, "Do you prostrate when the sun rises?" Ibn Abbas said, "Do you not have a mother? Did you not know that the Prophet ﷺ said, 'When you see the signs, prostrate'?" And what sign is greater than the mothers of the believers coming out from among us while we are alive?"
مَاتَتْ بَعْضُ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَظُنُّهُ سَمَّاهَا صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَأَتَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَسَجَدَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَتَسْجُدُ وَلَمَّا تَطْلُعِ الشَّمْسُ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لَا أُمَّ لَكَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْآيَةَ فَاسْجُدُوا» وأيَّةُ آيَةٍ أَعْظَمُ منْ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَخْرُجْنَ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَظْهُرِنَا وَنَحْنُ أَحْيَاءٌ؟
[Machine] "Indeed, Muhammad ﷺ has seen his Lord." Ikrimah said, "O Abu Abbas, does Allah not say: 'Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision'?" Ibn Abbas replied, "I swear by your mother, that is only when He is in a manner that cannot be comprehended by sight."
«إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ قَدْ رَأَى رَبَّهُ» قَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ أَلَيْسَ اللهُ يَقُولُ {لَا تُدْرِكُهُ الْأَبْصَارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الْأَبْصَارَ} فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «لَا أُمَّ لَكَ إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ إِذَا خَلَا بكَيْفيةٍ لَمْ يَقُمْ لَهُ بَصَرٌ»
[Machine] The goat focused between the hands of the Prophet ﷺ. "He prayed towards it while the tail was passing behind it."
رُكِّزَتِ الْعَنَزَةُ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا وَالظَّعْنُ تَمُرُّ مِنْ وَرَائِهَا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every cause and lineage will be cut off on the Day of Resurrection except for my cause and lineage."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «كُلُّ سَبَبٍ وَنَسَبٍ مُنْقَطِعٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا سَبَبِي ونَسَبِي»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to al-Abbas: "Oh my uncle, should I not teach you, should I not grant you, should I not inform you, should I not do ten things for you, if you do them, Allah will forgive your first and last sins, the old and the new, the secret and the public, the small and the big, the intentional and the unintentional? You should pray four Rak'ahs and recite Al-Fatiha and a Surah in each Rak'ah. Then, after finishing the recitation in the first Rak'ah, you say fifteen times while standing: "Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar," then you make a bow and say ten times while bowing, and then you lift your head and say it ten times while standing, then you prostrate and say it ten times while prostrating, then you lift your head and say it ten times while sitting, then you prostrate again and say it ten times while prostrating again. If you do this in four Rak'ahs, then if your sins were as much as the foam of the sea or as much as the sand on the beaches, Allah will forgive you."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِلْعَبَّاسِ يَا عَمَّاهُ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ أَلَا أَمْنَحُكَ أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ أَلَا أَفْعَلُ بِكَ عَشَرَ خِصَالٍ إِذَا أَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ ذَنْبَكَ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ قَدِيمَهُ وَحَدِيثَهُ سِرَّهُ وَعَلَانِيَتَهُ صَغِيرَهُ وَكَبِيرَهُ خَطَأَهُ وَعَمْدَهُ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ تَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ مِنْهَا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ أَوَّلَ رَكْعَةٍ قُلْتَ وَأَنْتَ قَائِمٌ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً ثُمَّ تَرْكَعُ فَتَقُولُ وَأَنْتَ رَاكِعٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ فَتَقُولُ وَأَنْتَ قَائِمٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَسْجُدُ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ فَتَقُولُ وَأَنْتَ جَالِسٌ عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَسْجُدُ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا ثُمَّ تَرْفَعُ رَأْسَكَ فَتَقُولُهَا عَشْرًا فَذَلِكَ خَمْسَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ تَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي أَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَوْ كَانَتْ ذُنُوبُكَ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ أَوْ رَمَلٍ عَالِجٍ غَفَرَهَا اللهُ لَكَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A believer does not commit adultery while he is a believer, nor does he steal while he is a believer, nor does he embezzle while he is a believer."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يَسْرِقُ حِينَ يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يَنْتَهِبُ النُّهْبَةَ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ»
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «صَلَّى عَلَى بِسَاطٍ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Seek assistance in observing the night prayers by taking a nap during the day, and seek assistance in fasting during the day by having a pre-dawn meal."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اسْتَعِينُوا بقائلةِ النَّهَارِ عَلَى قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ وبأَكْلِ السَّحَرِ عَلَى صِيَامِ النَّهَارِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not approach women at night." This means that when one of you comes back from a journey, he should not come to his family except during the day. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came back with a caravan from a journey and two men went ahead after the saying of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They came to their families and found each of them with another man.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَطْرُقُوا النِّسَاءَ لَيْلًا» يَعْنِي إِذَا قَدِمَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ سَفَرٍ لَا يَأْتِي أَهْلَهُ إِلَّا نَهَارًا قَالَ فَقَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَافِلًا مِنْ سَفَرٍ وَذَهَبَ رَجُلَانِ فَسَبَقَا بَعْدَ قَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيَا أَهْلَيْهِمَا فَوَجَدَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مَعَ أَهْلِهِ رَجُلًا
A believer’s vision is the forty-sixth part of Prophecy. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5018)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The death of a stranger is martyrdom."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَوْتُ الْغَرِيبِ شَهَادَةٌ»
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ‘Umrah four times: The ‘Umrah of Hudaibiyah, the ‘Umrah to make up for (the one not completed previously), the third from Ji’ranah and the fourth that he did with his Hajj.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3003)
«اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْبَعَ عُمَرٍ عُمْرَةَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَعُمْرَةَ الْقَضَاءِ مِنْ قَابِلٍ وَعُمْرَتَهُ مِنَ الْجِعْرَانَةِ الثَّالِثَةَ وَعُمْرَتَهُ الرَّابِعَةَ الَّتِي مَعَ حَجَّتِهِ»
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, my mother has passed away and did not leave any instructions. Would it benefit her if I give charity on her behalf?" He said, "Yes."
يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تُوُفِّيَتْ أُمِّي وَلَمْ تُوصِ أَفَيَنْفَعُهَا أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ عَنْهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»
[Machine] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ if it would benefit his mother if he gives charity on her behalf. The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Yes." The man then said, "I have a garden, and I testify to you that I have given charity from it on her behalf." The Prophet ﷺ said, "The scent of the garden is the palm tree."
أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ تُوُفِّيَتْ فَهَلْ يَنْفَعُهَا أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ عَنْهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي مَخْرَفَةً فَأُشْهِدُكَ أَنِّي قَدْ تَصَدَّقْتُ بِهَا عَنْهَا قَالَ رَوْحٌ الْمخرفةُ النَّخْلُ
[Machine] About someone who reached the area of Rawha, they said, "Neither have you killed Muhammad nor have you harmed the enemies." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed of this, he encouraged the people to continue advancing until they reached Hamra al-Asad or Bir Abi Uyyinah. So Allah revealed, "Those who responded to Allah and the Messenger after injury had struck them" (Quran 3:172). Abu Sufyan had said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Your appointment is at the time of Badr where you killed our companions." So the hypocrite returned, but the brave ones continued and they were rewarded with spoils of war and trade. When they went to him, they found no one there and they conducted transactions. So Allah revealed, "So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them" (Quran 3:174).
عَنْ أَحَدٍ وَبَلَغُوا الرَّوْحَاءَ قَالُوا لَا مُحَمَّدًا قَتَلْتُمْ وَلَا الْكواعبَ أَرْدَفْتُمْ شَرٌّ مَا صَنَعْتُمْ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَدَبَ النَّاسَ فَانْتَدَبُوا حَتَّى بَلَغُوا حَمْرَاءَ الْأَسَدِ أَوْ بِئْرَ أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {الَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِلَّهِ وَللرَّسُولِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا أَصَابَهُمُ الْقَرْحُ} وَقَدْ كَانَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَوْعِدُكَ مَوْسِمُ بَدْرٍ حَيْثُ قَتَلْتُمْ أَصْحَابَنَا فَأَمَّ الْجَبَانُ فَرَجَعَ وَأَمَّا الشُّجَاعُ فَأَخَذَ أُهْبَةَ الْقِتَالِ وَالتِّجَارَةِ فَأَتَوْهُ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا بِهِ أَحَدًا وتَسَوَّقُوا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {فَانْقَلَبُوا بِنِعْمَةٍ مِنَ اللهِ وَفَضَلٍ لَمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوءٌ}
Messenger of Allah ﷺ also said, "It (i.e., Makkah's) thorny bushes should not be uprooted and its game should not be chased, and picking up its fallen things is illegal except by him who makes public announcement about it, and its grass should not be cut." 'Abbas said, "O Messenger of Allah ! Except Idhkhir (a kind of grass)." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Except Idhkhir." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2433)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يُعْضَدُ عِضَاهُهَا وَلَا يُنَفَّرُ صَيْدُهَا وَلَا يُخَلَّى خَلَاهَا وَلَا يَحِلُّ لُقَطَتُهَا إِلَّا لِمُنْشِدٍ» قَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ فَقَالَ «إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Allah has made Mecca forbidden and it is not permissible for anyone before me or after me. It was only made permissible for me for a single hour of the day, and then it became forbidden by the sanctity of Allah. Its trees cannot be cut, its game cannot be hunted, and no one is allowed to spend the night there except with permission." Al-Abbas said, "Except for al-Idhkhir (a type of plant)?" He replied, "Except for al-Idhkhir."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ وَلَمْ يَحِلَّ لِأَحَدٍ قَبْلِي وَلَا يَحِلُّ لِأَحَدٍ بَعْدِي وَإِنَّمَا أُحِلَّتْ لِي سَاعَةً مِنْ نَهَارٍ ثُمَّ هِيَ حَرَامٌ بحرمِ اللهِ لَا يُعْضَدُ شَجَرُهَا وَلَا يُنَفَّرُ صَيْدُهَا وَلَا يُخْتَلَى خَلَاهَا» فَقَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ فَقَالَ «إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The wrath of Allah intensifies upon the one who kills the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and upon the one who defames the face of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ ."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اشْتَدَّ غَضَبُ اللهِ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَى مَنْ دَمَا وَجْهَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»
[Machine] Ali declared Fatimah permissible for him with physical bodies made of iron.
«اسْتَحَلَّ عَلِيٌّ فَاطِمَةَ بِبُدْنٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever listens to the conversation of a people while they hate him, it will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever sees things in his dream that he did not see, he is commanded to tie a knot."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنِ اسْتَمَعَ إِلَى حَدِيثِ قَوْمٍ وَهُمْ لَهُ كَارِهُونَ صُبَّ فِي أُذُنِهَ الْآنُكُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ أَرَى عَيْنَيْهِ فِي الْمَنَامِ مَا لَمْ يَرَ كُلِّفَ أَنْ يَعْقِدَ شَعِيرَةً»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ asked a man, "Where have you stayed?" He replied, "At Fulanah's house." The Prophet ﷺ then asked, "Did she close her door on you?" The Prophet ﷺ disliked that.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَأَلَ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ نَزَلْتَ؟» فَقَالَ عَلَى فُلَانَةَ فَقَالَ «أَغْلَقَتْ عَلَيْكَ بَابَهَا؟» فَكَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَلِكَ
[Machine] He (the Messenger of Allah) said, "Have you revealed (inspired) to so-and-so and entered upon her?" So the Messenger of Allah disliked that.
لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنَزَلْتَ عَلَى فُلَانَةَ وَدَخَلْتَ عَلَيْهَا؟» فَكَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَلِكَ
[Machine] "Narrated by the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , he said: 'I am amazed at the patience and honor of my brother Yusuf. By Allah, He forgives him wherever he is sent to be consulted about a dream. If it were me, I would not have done so until I left. I am amazed at his patience and honor. By Allah, he was called to leave, but he did not leave until he informed them of his excuse. If it were me, I would have rushed to the door. If it were not for the word (mention) there, he would not have stayed in prison, seeking relief from other than Allah.' His saying is: 'Remember Me with your Lord.'"
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ عَجِبْتُ لصبرِ أَخِي يُوسُفَ وكَرَمِهِ وَاللهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ حَيْثُ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ليُسْتَفْتَى فِي الرُّؤْيَا وَلَوْ كُنْتُ أَنَا لَمْ أَفْعَلْ حَتَّى أَخْرُجَ وعَجِبْتُ لصَبْرِهِ وكَرَمِهِ وَاللهُ يَغْفِرُ لَهُ أُتِي لِيَخْرُجَ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ حَتَّى أَخْبَرَهُمْ بِعُذْرِهِ وَلَوْ كُنْتُ أَنَا لبادرتُ الْبَابَ وَلَوْلَا الْكَلِمَةُ لَمَا لَبِثَ فِي السِّجْنِ حَيْثُ يَبْتَغِي الْفَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِ غَيْرِ اللهِ قَوْلُهُ {اذْكُرْنِي عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ}
[Machine] In His saying {And We appointed not the vision which We showed thee but as a trial for mankind}, He said, "It is a vision that the Prophet ﷺ saw on the night of his ascension, and it is not a dream."
فِي قَوْلِهِ {وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ} قَالَ «هِيَ رُؤْيَا رَآهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ وَلَيْسَتْ بِرُؤْيَا مَنَامٍ»
[Machine] The moon was split during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . They said that it was a magic act made by the moon. Then the verse was revealed, "The Hour has come near, and the moon has split".
كُسِفَ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا سُحِرَ الْقَمَرُ فَنَزَلَتْ {اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ} الْقَمَرُ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {مُسْتَمِرٌّ}
[Machine] Ali entered upon Fatima on a Sunday and said, "Take this sword, it is not damaged." The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you have fought well, then Sahl bin Hunayf and Abu Dujana Simak bin Kharasha have fought better."
دَخَلَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ يَوْمَ أَحَدٍ فَقَالَ خُذِي هَذَا السَّيْفَ غَيْرَ ذميمٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَئِنْ كُنْتَ أَحْسَنْتَ الْقِتَالَ لَقَدْ أَحْسَنَهُ سَهْلُ بْنُ حُنَيْفٍ وَأَبُو دُجَانَةَ سِمَاكُ بْنُ خَرَشَةَ»
[Machine] Huwayy ibn Akhtab and Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf came to Makkah to meet with the Quraysh. The Quraysh swore to them to fight against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked them, "You are the people of ancient knowledge and the people of the book, so tell us about us and about Muhammad." They replied, "Who are you and who is Muhammad?" The Quraysh said, "We are the ones who sacrifice camels and pour milk on the water. We break the idols and give water to the pilgrims and maintain family ties." They asked, "Who is Muhammad?" They said, "He is like a faucet that has cut off our family ties and has been followed by the thieves of the pilgrims, the sons of Ghifar." The Quraysh said, "No, you are better than him and show a better way." So Allah revealed the verse until the end of the ayah, "Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture, believing in superstition and false deities."
قَدِمَ حُيَيُّ بْنُ أَخْطَبَ وَكَعْبُ بْنُ الْأَشْرَفِ مَكَّةَ عَلَى قُرَيْشٍ فَحَالَفُوهُمْ عَلَى قِتَالِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا لَهُمْ أَنْتُمْ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ الْقَدِيمِ وَأَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ فَأَخْبِرُونَا عَنَّا وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالُوا وَمَا أَنْتُمْ وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ؟ قَالُوا نَحْنُ نَنْحَرُ الْكَوْمَاءَ وَنَسْقِي اللَّبَنَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ ونَفُكُّ الْعناةَ وَنَسْقِي الْحَجِيجَ ونَصِلُ الْأَرْحَامَ قَالُوا فَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ؟ قَالُوا صنبورٌ قَطَعَ أَرْحامَنا وَاتَّبَعَهُ سُرَّاقُ الْحَجِيجِ بَنُو غِفَارٍ قَالُوا بَلْ أَنْتُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ وَأَهْدَى سَبِيلًا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا نَصِيبًا مِنَ الْكِتَابِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْجِبْتِ وَالطَّاغُوتِ} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ
[Machine] "I am not your mother, so it suffices for you to have someone better than you, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
«لَا أُمَّ لَكَ فَيَكْفِي مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ»
that the Prophet cursed men who imitate women and woman who imitate men. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1904)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَعَنَ اللهُ الْمُتَشَبِّهِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ بِالنِّسَاءِ وَلَعَنَ الْمُتَشَبِّهَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ بِالرِّجَالِ»
[Machine] "We would eat, drink, wash, go out, and then go out to the mosque."
«كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ وَنَشْرَبُ وَنَغْتَسِلُ ونخرجُ ثُمَّ نَخْرُجُ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى»
[Machine] I saw Abdullah Ibn Abbas eating in Arafat once and he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Abu Bakr, and Umar did not fast on this day."
رَأَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَأْكُلُ بِعَرَفَةَ زَمَانًا وَيَقُولُ «لَمْ يَصُمْهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَلَا عُمَرُ»
[Machine] To restrain oneself to ten out of one hundred because the Muslims were few, but when the Muslims increased, Allah ordered the man to restrain himself to two out of twenty, and to one hundred out of two hundred.
أَنْ يُصَبِّرَ نَفْسَهُ الْعَشَرَةُ لِمِائَةٍ إِذِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ قَلِيلٌ فَلَمَّا كَثُرَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ أَمَرَ اللهُ ﷻ الرَّجُلَ أَنْ يَصْبِرَ لِلرَّجُلَيْنِ وَالْعِشْرَةَ للعشرينَ وَالْمِائَةَ لِلْمِئَتَيْنِ»
[Machine] The first thing that was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ was for him to cover himself, and his private parts were not seen after that.
أَوَّلُ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنْ قِيلَ لَهُ اسْتَتِرْ فَمَا رُئِيَتْ عَوْرَتُهُ بَعْدُ ذَلِكَ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ went out happily and said, "Indeed, Allah has increased for you a prayer, and it is the Witr prayer."
خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مُسْتَبْشِرًا فَقَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ زَادَكُمْ صَلَاةً وَهِيَ الْوِتْرُ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "I have forbidden you from visiting graves, so visit them and do not say words of exile. I have also forbidden you from consuming sacrificial meat after three days, so eat it and refrain from it. I have also forbidden you from drinking intoxicating wine, so drink and do not drink to the point of intoxication."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ فَزُورُوهَا وَلَا تَقُولُوا هُجْرًا وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِي بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ فَكُلُوا وَأَمْسِكُوا وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ فَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تَشْرَبُوا مُسْكِرًا»
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ prayed while wearing his sandals."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «صَلَّى فِي نَعْلَيْهِ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ forbade the sale of deception or fraud.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْغَرَرِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat in a house that had nothing on it except a single garment, which he spread between his legs and thighs. Abu Bakr sought permission to enter and he granted it to him, so he entered. Then ‘Umar sought permission to enter and he granted it to him, so he entered. Then ‘Uthman sought permission to enter and he granted it to him, so when the Prophet saw him he hastened to stand up, so it upset ‘A’ishah. When the people had gone out, she said: "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr and ‘Umar entered, so you did not change your position, but when ‘Uthman entered you stood up quickly." He said: "O ‘A’ishah, should I not feel shy before one before whom the angels feel shy?"
جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتٍ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا إِزَارٌ فَطَرَحَهُ بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ وَفَخِذَاهُ خارجتانِ فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ فَدَخَلَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُمَرُ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ فَدَخَلَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَامَ مُسْرِعًا حَتَّى دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ فَشَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ الْقَوْمُ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ دَخَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ فَلَمْ تُغَيِّرْ عَنْ حَالِكَ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ عُثْمَانُ قُمْتَ فَقَالَ «يَا عَائِشَةُ أَلَا أَسْتَحِي مِمَّنْ تَسْتَحْي مِنْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَسْتَحْي مِنْ عُثْمَانَ»
