19.3 Ibn Masud ᴿᴬ (contd …)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Is one of you unable to recite one-third of the Quran in one night?" They said, "Who could do that?" He said, "Indeed, say: He is Allah, [who is] One."
[Machine] "About Altabaqquor"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ forbade wearing a gold ring or gold earrings.
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade gold rings.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3643)
[Machine] That Abu Bakr went out and hunger compelled him, and that Umar went out and hunger compelled him, and that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ went out on them, and that both of them informed him that hunger compelled them. He said, "Come with us to the house of a man from the Ansar called Abu Al-Haytham ibn Al-Taihan." So when he was not in the house, he went to seek water. The woman welcomed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions and offered them something, so they sat down to eat. The Prophet ﷺ asked her, "Where did Abu Al-Haytham go?" She said, "He went to fetch some water for us." He did not take long until he came back with a skin containing water. He intended to slaughter a sheep for them, but it seemed that the Prophet ﷺ disliked that for them. So he slaughtered a young camel for them. Then he brought dishes of dates and they ate from the meat, bones, and dates, and drank from the water. One of them said, "Either Abu Bakr or Umar, this is from the bliss that we will be questioned about." The Prophet ﷺ said, "A believer is not disturbed by anything that afflicts him in this world. Rather, he is disturbed by what afflicts the disbeliever."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The severest of people in punishment on the Day of Resurrection will be a man who killed a prophet, or a prophet who killed him, or a man who misguides people without knowledge, or a person who makes statues."
[Machine] "Abdullah bin Masood, Allah has indeed depleted their knowledge, may Allah deplete them as well. By the One who sent Muhammad ﷺ with the truth, I have prayed alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for ten years, and not a single year has been depleted from them."
[Machine] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he used to say in the sermon of necessity, 'Praise be to Allah, we seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves. Whoever Allah guides, there is no one who can lead him astray, and whoever He leads astray, there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. Whoever obeys Allah and His messenger has been guided, and whoever disobeys them harms only themselves. Allah will not be harmed by anyone.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Beware of trivial sins, for they gather upon a person until they destroy him. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave an example for these sins, likening them to a man in a barren land. The people came with the wood, and the man came with the wood, until they gathered a large pile and set it on fire, finally burning everything within it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Performing ghusl (ritual bath) on the day of Friday is a recommended practice."
[Machine] Because being dearer to me than the rising of the sun, he (referring to the Prophet Muhammad) stood up to the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Badr and said, "We do not say to you what the people of Moses said, 'So go, you and your Lord.' But we will fight from your right and your left." So I saw the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ brightening with joy.
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Verily, seeking remedies through incantations, superstitious beliefs, and charms is a form of associating partners with Allah."
[Machine] "A man said, 'O Abu Abdullah (Abdul Rahman), this is the camel that we used to hear [about]." He said, 'So, where is the lightning?'"
[Machine] I was sitting with Abdullah and Hudhaifah when a man and a woman on a camel passed by them. Their faces were disfigured. One of them said to his companion, "This is the one we were talking about." He replied, "No, it is not. Rather, it is with that lightning."
[Machine] A group came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ with their companion, and they said, "O Prophet of Allah, our companion has been corrupted by shyness." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, shyness is part of the teachings of Islam, and indecency is a person's disgrace."
[Machine] "My father had left the prayer with us. I said, 'Why have you left the prayer with us?' He said, 'Because you make it easier.' I said, 'What about the statement of the Prophet ﷺ, 'Indeed, among you are the elderly, the weak, and those with a need'? He said, 'I heard Abdullah bin Mas'ood saying that, then he prayed three times the amount that you pray.'"
[Machine] "About the private affairs of women."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A group of Muslims who were suffering in the Fire will be admitted into Paradise by the mercy of Allah and the intercession of the intercessors."
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was beyond imagination to anyone who saw him."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Verily, Allah has not prohibited anything except that He knows that it will harm you. Behold, I am restraining you from rushing towards the fire, just as the chick and the flies rush to it."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There is no man who is among a people and he commits sins of Allah among them and they are more than him and more prestigious, then they cover up for him in his issues, except that Allah will punish them."
[Machine] "The intercession for people continues as they exit the Fire, to the extent that even Iblis, the cursed one, hopes to attain it and be saved from it."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Do not please anyone at the expense of angering Allah, and do not praise anyone for the favor of Allah. Do not blame anyone for something that Allah did not give you. Verily, the provision of Allah does not come to you due to the eagerness of the eager nor is it withheld from you due to the aversion of the hater. Indeed, Allah, the Exalted, in His justice and fairness, placed contentment and certainty in satisfaction, and placed worry and sadness in anger."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection will be for those who kill a prophet or are killed by a prophet, and the unjust imam, and those who make images."
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which injustice is greater?" He said, "A handspan of land that a believer wrongfully takes from his brother. None of its particles will be smaller than a collar around his neck on the Day of Judgment."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the best among this Ummah are its first and its last, who are different and separated. So whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him meet his end while he is doing what he loves to be given to him."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If a creature of yours escapes on a land of plain, then call upon the servants of Allah to detain it on my behalf. Call upon the servants of Allah to detain it on my behalf, for indeed Allah has a present on the Earth, and He will detain it upon you."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no fasting unless for a traveler or a sick person."
[Machine] The leaders of the Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with some Muslims and Suhayb and Khabbab. They said, "O Muhammad, are these the ones whom Allah has favored among us? If you were to expel them, we would follow you." So Allah revealed, "And do not send away those who call upon their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking His countenance. Not upon you is anything of their account or upon them anything of your account. So were you to send them away, you would [then] be of the wrongdoers." (Quran, 6:52)
مَرَّ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعِنْدَهُ أُنَاسٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَصُهَيْبٌ وَخَبَّابٌ فَقَالُوا يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَهَؤُلَاءِ مَنَّ اللهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا؟ لَوْ طَرَدْتَ هَؤُلَاءِ لَاتَّبَعْنَاكَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَلَا تَطْرُدِ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهَمْ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {أَلَيْسَ اللهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِالشَّاكِرِينَ}
[Machine] Feed, for this is a day that used to be fasted before Ramadan came down. Then Ramadan came, so this day was abandoned.
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , "There is none among you but has been assigned a companion from the jinn." It was asked, "Even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Even me. However, Allah has helped me against him, so he has embraced Islam and does not command me except with good."
[Machine] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ between the first and afternoon prayers, and between the sunset and evening prayers. It was said to him, and he said, "I did this so that my nation would not be in difficulty."
[Machine] So he came closer to me until he made me sit on his mat, then he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Indeed, parents have a debt upon their child. When it is the Day of Resurrection, they will hold onto him and say, 'I am your child.' So they will wish or desire that they had more (children) than that."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Killing in the cause of Allah expiates all sins, or he said everything except for treachery. Treachery is in prayer, fasting, and speaking. The greatest of that is entrusting (something to someone). Shurayk narrated to me from Ayyash Al-Amiri, from Zadhan, from Abdullah, from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, Allah has angels on the earth who convey greetings on behalf of my ummah."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, Allah has angels who roam the earth, conveying to me the greetings of my Ummah."
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah (SWT) has angels who travel around on Earth conveying to me the Salams of my Ummah.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1282)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me and said, "O Ibn Mas'ood!" I said, "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."
