that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Anyone who did a wrong or committed a sin and is ashamed of it, then this will be his atonement.”

"مَنْ أَخْطَأَ خَطِيئَةً، أَوْ أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا ثُمَّ نَدِمَ فهُوَ كَفَّارَتُهُ".  

[طب] الطبرانى في الكبير [هب] البيهقى في شعب الإيمان عن ابن مسعود
