[Machine] Abdullah said, "Yes, the hour of heedlessness means the prayer between Maghrib and Isha."
[Machine] "Drowsiness during battle is a gift from God and drowsiness during prayer is from Satan."
[Machine] Abdullah said, "Drowsiness during prayer is from Satan, while drowsiness during fighting is a protection from Allah."
[Machine] Yawning and sneezing in the prayer are from Satan.
[Machine] "The prayer is not exempted except in the case of Hajj pilgrimage or Jihad."
[Machine] He said, "Do not decrease from your prayers in your homes, nor take part in your affairs, nor travel in the valleys of the lowlands for your needs, and then say that you are travelers, for a traveler is only one who travels from horizon to horizon."
[Machine] "He said, do not be deceived by your trade and your profits, and travel to the villages of darkness and claim that we are a traveling people. Verily, the traveler is from one horizon to another."
[Machine] Do not be deceived by your appearance, for the only thing unique about you and your family is if you are chosen.
[Machine] "Whoever prays four (rak'ah) while traveling has to make up for the missed prayer."
[Machine] About a man who puts his side near the two rak'ahs of the Dhuha prayer. He said, "Why does one of you roll like a donkey rolls?"
[Machine] "Do you burden people with what Allah does not burden them? They see you praying, but they consider it obligatory upon themselves, even if you do so willingly. So, in their homes..."
[Machine] "We used to sit after Abdullah stood up, and we would encourage people to read. When we stood up to pray, Abdullah found out about it and we went to him. He said, 'Are you burdening people with what they cannot bear? They see you and think it is a sunnah if you are performing it in your homes.' Sulaiman also narrated to us from Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu Ubaydah, from Abdullah."
[Machine] To prostrate, yet I disobeyed, and mine is the fire.

[Machine] A man was watering his crops when he saw a wandering cloud. He heard a voice in it saying, "Water the land of so-and-so." He followed the voice until he reached the named land. He asked its owner, "What do you do with it?" The owner replied, "I cultivate one-third of it, give one-third in charity, and keep one-third for my family."
"The Messenger of Allah cursed the woman who does tattoos and the one who has them done, and those who pluck their eyebrows and file their teeth for the purpose of beautification, and those who change the creation of Allah." News of that reached a woman of Banu Asad who was called Umm Ya'qub. She came to him and said: "I have heard that you said such and such." He said: 'Why should I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah cursed ? And it is in the Book of Allah.'' She said: "I read what is between its two covers 'and I have not found that." He said: "If you read it properly you would have found it. Have you not read the words: 'And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it).'?" She said: "Of course." He said: 'The Messenger of Allah forbade that." She said: 'I think that your wife does it.' He said: " Go and look." So she went and looked and she did not see what she wanted. She said: "I have not seen anything!’ 'Abdullah said: "If she was as you say, I would not have kept her with me. " (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1989)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah cursed, so a woman from the Banu Asad said to him, 'I think he is cursing your family.' He said, 'Go and look.' So she went and then came back and said, 'I did not see anything in them (i.e., his family), and I did not see him (i.e., the curse) in the Quran.' Abdullah said to her, 'Indeed, yes, the Messenger of Allah said that.'"
[Machine] "Do you find something that you have heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ or find it in the book of Allah?" He said, "Indeed, I have heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I find it in the book of Allah." She said, "By Allah, I have read what is between the two covers of the Quran and I have not found it." He said, "Do you not find in it: 'Whatever the Messenger has given you, take it, and whatever he has forbidden you, refrain from it'?" She said, "Yes." She said, "By Allah, I see you doing what is in your house." He said, "Have I not memorized the will of my brother Shu`aib then?" He said, "So I swore to you when I entered it and I looked at her hair." So she entered and looked at a woman with curly hair and did not see anything in her hair. So she came out and said, "I did not find anything." He said, "Have I not memorized the will of Shu`aib then?"
[Machine] "May Allah curse those who alter the creation of Allah, such as those who pluck their eyebrows, those who tattoo themselves, and those who file their teeth. A woman from the tribe of Banu Assad, known as Umm al-Mustawrid, came to him and said, 'O Abu Abdullah, I have heard that you have cursed those who pluck their eyebrows, tattoo themselves, and file their teeth.' He said, 'Should I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed, and it is in the Book of Allah?' She said, 'I have read what is between the two covers [of the Quran], and I did not find it in there.' He said, 'If you had indeed read what is between the two covers [of the Quran], you would have found it in the Book of Allah, where it says, "Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you from, refrain from it."' She said, 'By Allah, I thought your family was doing it.' He said, 'Come in and have a look. If they are doing it, they will not spend the night with me.' So she went in, looked around, then came out saying, 'I did not see anything, I did not see anything.'"
[Machine] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said, "May the one who connects (= tribal affiliations) be cursed, as well as the tattooer, the fortune-teller, and those who pluck their facial hairs." This statement was said by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .
[Machine] "And there is no deity except Him. A woman's prayer that she performs in the mosque is better for her than the prayer she performs in her house, except in the Masjid al-Haram or the Mosque of the Prophet, except for an older woman who is unable to go."
[Machine] "The woman does not find any place better for her than her own home, except for the Sacred Mosque or the Mosque of the Prophet ﷺ, unless she is a woman going out for her essential needs."
[Machine] I heard the Lord of this house swearing with His right hand, "There is no prayer for a woman that is better for her than her home, except for in a pilgrimage or Umrah, except for a woman who is desperate for a husband, so she is in the journey." I said, "What is the journey?" He said, "An old woman who is approaching her last steps."
[Machine] Abdullah swore an oath and emphasized it, saying, "There is no better place for a woman than her own home, except during Hajj or Umrah, or for a woman who has given up hope of finding a husband, for she is under the care of others."
[Machine] He saw Ibn Mas'ud ejecting women from the mosque on Friday and saying, "Go out to your homes, it is better for you."
[Machine] "I saw Ibn Mas'ud driving women out of the mosque on Friday."
[Machine] "He used to chase women out of the mosque on Fridays and say, 'Pray in your homes.'"
[Machine] To sit at the bottom of her house, worship her Lord, and say, "One of them goes to my family and the devil influences her until she says, 'No one has seen me except that they are amazed by me.'"
[Machine] Women are a source of temptation, as women often leave their homes without any harm befalling them, causing Satan to approach them and say, "You attract everyone you meet." And women often dress attractively, and people ask, "Where are you going?" And she answers, "I am visiting a sick person, witnessing a funeral, or praying in a mosque." No woman worships her Lord like when she worships Him in her own home.
[Machine] Indeed, woman is a temptation, and when she leaves her house, she becomes visible to Satan. She says, "No one sees me except they are amazed by me," and is closest to God when she is in the innermost part of her house.
[Machine] "The prayer of a woman in her house is better than her prayer in her room, and her prayer in her room is better than her prayer in her house, and her prayer in her house is better than her prayer elsewhere." Then he said, "Indeed, when a woman goes out, Satan shows her respect."
[Machine] "The prayer of a woman in her house is better than her prayer in the mosque, and her prayer in the mosque is better than her prayer outside."

[Machine] "The woman from the children of Israel used to wear two garments, and when she stood up, she would place them on top of each other, and her husband would wait for her. Then, she would experience menstruation." And Abdullah used to say, "Delay them as Allah delayed them."
[Machine] "Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth." Then, when he left, it was said, "One of the signs of the Hour is that a man will greet another man for recognition and the mosques will be used as roads. And women and horses will be adorned, then disregarded, until the Day of Resurrection. And men and women will engage in trade together."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, one of the signs of the Hour is that a man will pass through the length and width of the mosque without praying two rak'ahs in it." This was narrated by Mansour and transmitted by Qatadah.
[Machine] Ibn Mas'ood, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say: 'One of the signs of the Hour is that a person will pass by the mosque without praying two rak'ahs in it, and that a person will only greet those he knows, and that the young will show disrespect to the elder.'"
[Machine] Peace be upon you, O Abu Abdur-Rahman. He laughed and said, "May Allah and His Messenger speak the truth. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The Hour will not come until there is peace upon knowledge. And indeed, this has recognized me among you, so it greeted me. And until the mosques become thoroughfares, meaning that nobody will prostrate to Allah in them. And until a young man is sent as a mail carrier between the two horizons. And until a merchant can't find any profit between the two horizons."
[Machine] The prayer was established in the mosque, so we walked with Abdullah. When the people bowed, Abdullah bowed and we bowed with him while walking. Then a man passed in front of him and said, "Peace be upon you, Abu Abdullah." Abdullah, while still bowing, said, "May Allah and His Messenger be true." After he finished, some people asked him why he said "May Allah and His Messenger be true" when the man greeted him. Abdullah said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'One of the signs of the Hour is when the greeting is given to those whom you recognize'."
[Machine] Abdullah used to say: "Perform this prayer properly and keep the sermons short."
[Machine] "The length of the prayer and the brevity of the sermon are indications of a person's understanding of jurisprudence."
[Machine] The length of the prayer and the brevity of the sermon are indications of a person's understanding of jurisprudence.
[Machine] "It shall be upon you leaders who will neglect the prayer, so whoever among you witnesses that, then let them offer it at its appointed time and let their prayer accompany them as a tasbih."
[Machine] "You are in a time where the preachers are many and the scholars are few, they prolong the prayer and shorten the sermon. And there will come a time when the preachers are few and the scholars are many, they will prolong the sermon and delay the prayer until it is said, 'This is the noontime of the dead.' I said to him, 'What is the noontime of the dead?' He said, 'When the sun turns intensely yellow. So whoever among you reaches that time, let them pray the prayer at its proper time. If they are held back, let them pray with them, and let their obligatory prayer be performed individually, and their prayer with them be voluntary.'"
[Machine] "Surely, there will be rulers who will call from the Sunnah similar to this. If you neglect it, they will make it similar to this. And if you neglect it, they will bring the great calamity."
[Machine] "Do not be a follower, a helper, a negotiator, or a mailman, and pray the prayer on time."
[Machine] Abdullah used to pray with them whenever they delayed it a little and he felt that they were burdened by that sin.
[Machine] Ibn Masood said: "All of this was not ordered by Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, for us to wait for you in our prayers while you are in need."
[Machine] To hear the caller say, "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah" and not say anything similar to what he says, and to wipe his face before completing his prayer, and to urinate while standing and to pray while there is nothing covering him and the direction of the qiblah.
[Machine] From Musayyab, who elevated the narration to Abdullah, he said: Four traits of impudence are when a man hears the muezzin say the takbeer (Allahu Akbar) and he does not say it, when he hears the tashahhud (testimony of faith) and he does not say it, when he wipes his forehead with soil while praying, and when he prays in a spacious area without a sutrah (a barrier) between him and the direction of prayer (qiblah).
