We said, "O Messenger of Allah, if you had ordered us to prostrate to you as kings are prostrated to, we would have done it." He said, "That is not from the guidance of my Ummah. If I were to command anyone to prostrate to another, I would have commanded the wives to prostrate to their husbands."

[Machine] When Ali went to Siffin, he appointed Abu Mas'ud to govern Kufa. Some men from the people of Kufa hid from Ali, but when he left, they appeared. People used to come to Abu Mas'ud and say, "By Allah, may Allah destroy His enemies, Ali has given victory to the believers." Abu Mas'ud would reply, "I swear by Allah, he did not do so in victory or defeat, in health or sickness, for one group to prevail over the other." They asked, "Why is that?" He said, "There will be a reconciliation between the two groups." When Ali arrived, they informed him of this. Ali said, "Leave our work." They asked, "Why is that?" He said, "We found that you lack understanding." They said, "As for me, there is still some of my mind left, and I know that the other group is evil."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a man spends on his family with the intention of reward, it is considered as charity for him." I asked, "The Prophet ﷺ ?" He said, "About the Prophet ﷺ ."
[Machine] He is called Abu Shuayb, and he had a servant who was a blacksmith. He said to his servant, "Prepare me some food, maybe I will invite the Prophet ﷺ to eat." So, he invited the Prophet ﷺ with five others. A man followed him and the Prophet ﷺ said to the man, "You invited me and five others. This man is following us. If you allow him, fine. Otherwise, he should go back." The man replied, "No, we allow him."

[Machine] He is called Abu Shuayb and he called the Prophet ﷺ with five others. So, the Prophet ﷺ sought permission from him regarding the sixth person.

[Machine] A man from the Ansar, who was known as Abu Shuayb, said to his servant, "Woe to you! I have seen hunger in the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So prepare enough food for five people." The servant prepared the food and sent it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He called the man and a man who was not called also followed them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, this man is our follower, so give him permission." He said, "Yes."

[Machine] Abi Shuayb had a servant who was a welder. When he saw how exhausted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions were, he ordered his servant to bring enough meat for five people. So he sent a message to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to bring a fifth of five. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came with a fifth for five people, and a sixth man followed them. When they reached the door of Abi Shuayb, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, you sent for five, and this man has joined us. If you allow him, he will enter, otherwise he will go back." Abi Shuayb replied, "No, I have allowed him, so let him eat."

0 ye, prepare for us food sufficient for five persons, for I intend to invite Allah's Apostle ﷺ who would be the fifth amongst the five. He (the narrator) reported that he then prepared the food and came to Allah's Apostle ﷺ and invited all the five (including him) who was the fifth amongst them to the feast. A man followed him and when Allah's Apostle ﷺ reached the door, he said: This man has followed us; if you like you may permit him (to join the meal) and if you like he can go back. Thereupon the person said: Messenger of Allah, I permit him. (Using translation from Muslim 2036a)

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and noticed hunger on his face. I met a young servant who was a butcher, and I ordered him to prepare food for five men. Then, I invited the Prophet ﷺ and five men came, followed by another man. When he reached the door, he said, "This man has been following us. If you wish, allow him to enter, otherwise he will go back." So, I gave him permission.
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to encourage giving charity. A man would come forward and contribute, and he would bring a handful (of charity), while for some of them the amount would reach one hundred thousand on that day." His brother said, "I witnessed that he would expose himself."
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command people to give charity. A man would then go and collect provisions and come back with a mountain of donations. Indeed, some of them would give up to a hundred thousand (dirhams). A miserable brother said, 'I saw that he would expose himself.'"
[Machine] We used to compete with each other in giving charity. One of us would bring a small amount, while another man would bring half a saa. Then, some hypocrites would mock us. So, the verse (Those who defame the voluntary givers among the believers in the charities) was revealed.
