[Machine] Huzaifa prayed with his companions at a shop in Al-Madain. Abu Mas'ud made him get down from it. When he finished his prayer, Huzaifa said, "Did you not know that we were forbidden from doing this?" Abu Mas'ud replied, "Yes, I remembered when you reminded me."
[Machine] I went with Hudhayfah and Abu Mas'ud to the mosque and Abu Mas'ud said, "By Allah, I did not see any shoes greater than these that had not been worn with gore, nor had blood been shed upon them." Hudhayfah said: "But I knew that the shoes would increase, yet no gore would be shed upon them. Indeed, a person may wake up as a believer and by nightfall be a disbeliever, or he may be a disbeliever in the morning and become a believer by evening. Sometimes his heart turns upside down due to this. He battles against tribulations today, but tomorrow Allah kills him." Then Abu Mas'ud said, "This is what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us about tribulations."

[Machine] On the authority of Abu Thawr al-Hudayani, who said: I was sent to Hudhayfa and Abu Mas'ud while they were in the Mosque of Kufa during the days of the Jarā'ah (a plague or epidemic) when the people did to Sa'id ibn al-Aas what they did, and Abu Mas'ud was teaching the people and he said, "By Allah, I do not see that it should be retaliated until there is bloodshed in it." Hudhayfa said, "By Allah, it will be retaliated and there will be no bloodshed in it, and I do not know anything in it today except that I have learned it, and Muhammad ﷺ is alive." Harun ibn Saad was not mentioned in his narration, nor was Abu al-Bakhtari mentioned.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Does any of you find it difficult to recite one-third of the Quran?" They were taken aback by this and said, "Allah is the One, the Eternal, one-third of the Quran."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Would any of you be able to recite one-third of the Quran every night?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, who among us could bear that?" He said, "Say, 'He is Allah, the One.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Can one of you not or is one of you unable to recite one-third of the Quran?" So we asked him about it and he said, "Say, 'He is Allah, [who is] One.'"

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Is anyone of you incapable of reciting one third of the Qur'an in a single night?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, who among us can recite one third of the Qur'an?" He replied, "Say: He is Allah, [who is] One."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , promised us in the foundation of al-Aqaba on the day of Eid al-Adha when we were seventy men. Uqbah said, "I am the youngest among them." Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came to us and said, "Be concise in your sermons, for I fear for you the disbelievers of Quraysh." We said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have asked our Lord and asked for ourselves. Inform us of what we will have of reward from Allah and upon you." He said, "As for what I ask for my Lord, believe in Him and do not associate anything with Him. As for what I ask for myself, I ask you to obey me; I guide you to the right path. And I ask you to support me and my companions with your own hands and to protect us from what you protect yourselves from. If you do that, then paradise is for you from Allah and upon me." He said, "So we extended our hands and pledged allegiance to him."

[Machine] His father, Abu Mas'ud, said: "By Allah, O Mu'gheerah, you must know that Jibril (Gabriel), ﷺ , came down and the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prayed and the people prayed with him. Then he came down again and the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prayed and the people prayed with him, until he counted five prayers." So, Umar said to him: "Look at what you are saying, O Urwah, and indeed Jibril is the one who determines the time of prayer." So Urwah said to him: "That is what Bishr ibn Abu Mas'ud narrated to me." He said: "So Umar continued to know the time of prayer by a sign until he departed from this world."

[Machine] Urwa Massa Al-Mughira was praying Asr in Kufa when Abu Mas'ood Al-Ansari entered upon him and said, "What is this, O Mughira? By Allah, you surely knew that Jibril came down and led the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in prayer, and then the people prayed five prayers, as he said, and then he said, 'This is what I have been commanded to do.'" Umar said to Urwa, "Know what you are saying, for it was Jibril who established the time for prayer." Urwa said, "That is how Bashir bin Abu Mas'ood related it from his father."

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated: I read on Malik ibn Anas, who narrated from Bakr ibn Sahl al-Dimyati, who narrated from Abdullah ibn Yusuf: I am Malik. And Al-Mubarak al-San'aani narrated from Ismail ibn Abi Uwais, who narrated from Malik, who narrated from Ibn Shihab: Umar ibn Abdul Aziz delayed the prayer one day, and Uruwah ibn Zubayr entered upon him and informed him that Mu'gheerah ibn Shu'ba had delayed the prayer one day while he was in Kufa. Then Abu Mas'ood al-Ansari entered upon him and said: O Mu'gheerah, did you not know that Gabriel, ﷺ , came down and prayed and then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prayed, and he said, "I have been ordered with this"? Umar said to Uruwah: Do you know what you are narrating, O Uruwah? Is it possible that Gabriel stood for the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , at the time of prayer? Uruwah said: That is how Bashir ibn Abi Mas'ood used to narrate from his father.

[Machine] Gabriel ﷺ descended upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and prayed with him, informing him of the prayer times. 'Umar said to Abdullah: What are you saying, O Abdullah? Urwah informed me at that time that Bashir bin Abi Mas'ood al-Ansari told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Gabriel ﷺ descended upon me, so I prayed with him. Then I prayed with him. Then I prayed with him. Then I prayed with him. Then I prayed with him. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying the migration prayer when the sun began to decline, and sometimes he would delay it due to the intensity of the heat, before 'Asr and the sun would be white and high in the sky. A man could walk until he reaches Dhul-Hulayfah, six miles before sunset, and then he would pray Maghrib when the sun had set, and he would pray 'Isha when the horizon became dark, and he would pray Fajr when there was light in the sky. Then he would pray it on another day until it became bright, then he would not pray it during his journey until Allah took him. And the wording is that of Abu Salih.

[Machine] Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari or Bashir ibn Abi Mas'ud narrated that both of them said that they accompanied the Prophet ﷺ and that Jibril (Gabriel) came to the Prophet ﷺ after the sun had set. Jibril said, "O Muhammad, perform the Dhuhr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the shadow of everything was equal to its height and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Asr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the sun had disappeared and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Maghrib prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the red twilight vanished and said, "O Muhammad, stand up and perform the Isha prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the dawn broke and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Fajr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him the next day when the shadow of everything was similar to its previous day's length and said, "O Muhammad, stand up and perform the Dhuhr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the Dhuhr prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the shadow of everything was similar to its length the previous day and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Asr prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the Asr prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when the sun had set at a particular time and said, "O Muhammad, perform the Maghrib prayer." So, the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed the prayer. Then, Jibril came to him when a portion of the night had passed and said, "O Muhammad, stand up and perform the Isha prayer."
