that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to ʿAlī b. Ṭālib that, "There will be a ˹grave˺ matter to occur between you and ʿĀʾishah." He said: Me, O Messenger of Allah? He said, "Yes." He said: Me? He said, "Yes." So ˹ʿAlī˺ said: Then I'm the worst of them, O Messenger of Allah. He said, "No, but when this has happened, then return her to her place of safety."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ إِنَّهُ «سَيَكُونُ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ عَائِشَةَ أَمْرٌ۔» قَالَ: أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ۔» قَالَ: أَنَا ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ۔» قَالَ: فَأَنَا أَشْقَاهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ! قَالَ: «لَا، وَلَكِنْ إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَارْدُدْهَا إِلَى مَأْمَنِهَا۔»

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ عَائِشَةَ شَيْءٌ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَا ؟ قَالُ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصْحَابِي ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَنَا أَشْقَاهُمْ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَرُدَّهَا إِلَى مَأْمَنِهَا

He said: Me, from among the Companions? He said, "Yes." So ˹ʿAlī˺ said: Then I'm the worst of them, O Messenger of Allah. He said, "No, but when this has happened, then return her to her place of safety."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَلِيٍّ ؓ «سَيَكُونُ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ عَائِشَةَ ؓ أَمْرٌ» قَا:لَ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» قَالَ: أَنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصْحَابِي؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ» قَالَ: فَأَنَا أَشْقَاهُمْ. قَالَ: «لَا وَلَكِنْ إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَارْدُدْهَا إِلَى مَأْمَنِهَا۔»

"There will be a ˹grave˺ matter to occur between you and ʿĀʾishah", he said to ʿAlī. He said: Then I'm the worst of them? He said, "No, but when this has happened, then return her to her place of safety."

«سيكُونُ بَيْنَكَ وبيْنَ عائشَةَ أَمْر۔» قَالَهُ لِعَلىٍّ. قَالَ: فَأَنا أَشْقَاهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ الله؟ قَالَ: "لا. وَلكِنْ إِذَا كَانَ ذَلكَ فَارْدُدْهَا إِلَى مَأْمَنِهَا".
