When any one of you enters the mosque, he should say:" O Allah! open for me the doors of Thy mercy" ; and when he steps out he should say: 'O Allah! I beg of Thee Thy Grace." (Imam Muslim said: I heard Yahya saying: I transcribed this hadith from the compilation of Sulaiman b. Bilal.)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ قَالَ مُسْلِمٌ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ يَحْيَى يَقُولُ كَتَبْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلاَلٍ قَالَ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيَّ يَقُولُ وَأَبِي أُسَيْدٍ

when any of you enters the mosque he should invoke blessing on the prophet ﷺ and then he should say: O Allah, open to me the gates of thy mercy. And when he goes out, he should say: O Allah, I ask thee out of Thine abundance.

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حُمَيْدٍ أَوْ أَبَا أُسَيْدٍ الأَنْصَارِيَّ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ لْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ فَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

"When Messenger of Allah entered the Masjid he said Salat and Salam upon Muhammad and then said: (Rabbighfirli dhunubi, waftahli abwaba rahmatik) 'O pardon my sins, and open the gates of Your mercy for me.' And when he exited he said Salat and Salam upon Muhammad, and then said: (Rabbighfirli dunubi, waftahli abwaba rakmatik) 'O Lord pardon my sins, and open the gates of Your blessings for me.'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ صَلَّى عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ صَلَّى عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ فَضْلِكَ

"I heard Abu Humaid and Abu Usaid say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When any one of you enters the Masjid, let him say: 'Allahumma aftahli abwaba rahmatik (O Allah, open to me the gates of your mercy). And when he leaves let him say: Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty).'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

"Whenever the Messenger of Allah entered the mosque he would say: 'Bismillah, was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah, Allahummagh-firli dhunubi waftah li abwaba rahmatika. (In the Name of Allah, and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive me my sins and open to me the gates of Your mercy).' When he left he would say: 'Bismillah, was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah, Allahummagh-firli dhunubi waftah li abwaba fadlika. (In the Name of Allah, and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive me my sins and open to me the gates of Your bounty).'"

عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ يَقُولُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ قَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ فَضْلِكَ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When anyone of you enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the prophet, then let him say: "Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatika (O Allah, open to me the gates of Your mercy)." And when he leaves, let him say: "Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlika. (O Allah, I ask of you from Your bounty)."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ لْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

The Mesenger of Allah said: "When anyone of enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the Prophet, then let him say: 'Allahumma aftahli abwaba rahmatik (O Allah, open to me the gates of Your mercy).' And when he leaves, let him send peace upon the Prophet and say: 'Allahumma- simni minash-shaitanir-rajim (O Allah, protect me from the accursed Shaitan).'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ اعْصِمْنِي مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

And when he leaves, let him say: "Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlika. (O Allah, I ask of you from Your bounty)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 772)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَقُلْ اللهُمَّ افْتَحْ لَنَا أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيَقُلْ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

"I heard Abu Humaid and Abu Usaid say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When any one of you enters the Masjid, let him say: 'Allahumma aftahli abwaba rahmatik (O Allah, open to me the gates of your mercy). And when he leaves let him say: Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlik (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty).'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 729)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَقُلْ اللهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ فَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيَقُلْ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

[AI] It is narrated from her grandmother Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who said, "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque, he would offer greetings and say, 'O Allah, forgive my sins and open the doors of Your mercy for me.' And when he left, he would offer greetings and say, 'O Allah, forgive my sins and open the doors of Your grace for me.' Isma'il said, 'I met Abdullah ibn Hasan and asked him about this hadith, and he said, 'When he entered, he would say, 'O Lord, open for me the door of Your mercy.' And when he left, he would say, 'O Lord, open for me the door of Your grace.'

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ صَلَّى عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ صَلَّى عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ فَضْلِكَ قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ فَلَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ حَسَنٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَقَالَ كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ قَالَ رَبِّ افْتَحْ لِي بَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ قَالَ رَبِّ افْتَحْ لِي بَابَ فَضْلِكَ

"Whenever the Messenger of Allah entered the mosque he would say: 'Bismillah, was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah, Allahummagh-firli dhunubi waftah li abwaba rahmatika. (In the Name of Allah, and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive me my sins and open to me the gates of Your mercy).' When he left he would say: 'Bismillah, was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah, Allahummagh-firli dhunubi waftah li abwaba fadlika. (In the Name of Allah, and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ قَالَ بِسْمِ اللهِ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِاللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ قَالَ بِسْمِ اللهِ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ فَضْلِكَ

عَنْ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ أَوْ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ وَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ»

"I heard Abu Humaid and Abu Usaid say: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When any one of you enters the Masjid, let him say: 'Allahumma aftahli abwaba rahmatik (O Allah, open to me the gates of your mercy). أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قال إذا دخل أحدكم المسجد فليسلم على النَّبِيّ وليقل اللهم افتح لي أبواب رحمتك وإذا خرج فليسلم وليقل اللهم اعصمني من السوء

أَنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ إذا جاء أحدكم المسجد فليسلم على النَّبِيّ ﷺ وليقل اللهم افتح لي أبواب رحمتك وإذا خرج فليسلم على النَّبِيّ ﷺ وليقل اللهم احفظني من الشيطان

[AI] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to enter the mosque, he would say, 'O Allah, forgive my sins and open the doors of Your mercy for me.' And when he would leave, he would say the same, except that he would say, 'doors of Your grace.'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ» وَإِذَا خَرَجَ قَالَ مِثْلَهَا إِلَّا أَنَّهُ يَقُولُ «أَبْوَابَ فَضْلِكَ»

[AI] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque, he would send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ and say, 'O Allah, forgive my sins and open the doors of Your mercy for me.' And when he would leave, he would send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ and say, 'O Allah, forgive my sins and open the doors of Your grace for me.'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ صَلَّى عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ» وَإِذَا خَرَجَ صَلَّى عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ فَضْلِكَ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When anyone of you enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the prophet, then let him say: "Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatika (O Allah, open to me the gates of Your mercy)." [AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "When one of you enters the mosque, let him greet the Prophet, ﷺ , and say, 'O Allah, open for me the doors of your mercy.' And when he leaves, let him greet the Prophet, ﷺ , and say, 'O Allah, protect me from Satan.' Muhammad bin Ajlan narrated it from Sa'id al-Maqburi from Abu Hurairah from Ka'b."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَلْيَقُلْ اللهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَلْيَقُلْ اللهُمَّ بَاعِدْنِي مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ خَالَفَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ رَوَاهُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ كَعْبٍ قَوْلَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When anyone of you enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the prophet, then let him say: "Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatika (O Allah, open to me the gates of Your mercy)." And when he leaves, let him say: "Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlika. (O Allah, I ask of you from Your bounty)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 772)

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When anyone of you enters the mosque, let him send peace upon the prophet, then let him say: "Allahummaftah li abwaba rahmatika (O Allah, open to me the gates of Your mercy)." And when he leaves, let him say: "Allahumma inni as'aluka min fadlika. (O Allah, I ask of you from Your bounty)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 772)

"إِذا دخلَ أحدُكم المسجِدَ فَليُسَلمْ، ثُمَّ ليَقُلْ: اللهمّ افْتَحْ لي أبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ، وإذا خرجَ فَليُسَلِّمْ على النبيِّ، وليقُلْ: اللهمَّ اعْصِمني من الشيطانِ".

when any of you enters the mosque he should invoke blessing on the prophet ﷺ and then he should say: O Allah, open to me the gates of thy mercy. And when he goes out, he should say: O Allah, I ask thee out of Thine abundance. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 465)

"إذا دخلَ أحدُكمْ المَسْجِدَ فَليَقُلِ: اللهُمَ افْتَحْ لِي أبوابَ رَحْمَتِكَ، وإذَا خَرَجَ فَليَقُلِ: اللهُمَّ إِنى أسْألُكَ منْ فَضْلِكَ".

"إِذا دَخَلَ أحَدُكُمْ المسْجِدَ صلّى على النبي. وقال: اللهُم اغفْر لنا ذُنُوبَنا، وافْتحْ لنَا أبْوابَ رحْمتِك، وَإذا خَرَجَ صلّى على النبي. وقال: اللهُمَ افْتحْ لَنا أبْوابَ فضْلِكَ".

"عَنْ عَلىٍّ قَالَ: كَانَ رسُولُ الله ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ صَلَّى عَلَى النَّبِىِّ ﷺ وَيَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِى ذُنُوبِى، وَافْتَحْ لِى أَبْوابَ رَحْمَتِكَ، وِإذَا خَرَجَ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ صَلَّى عَلَى النَّبِىِّ ﷺ وَيَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِى، وافْتَحْ لِى أَبْوَابَ فَضْلكَ".

"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِى أَبْوابَ رِزْقِكَ".

"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ: أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِر لِى ذُنُوبِى، وافْتَحْ لِى أَبْوابَ رَحْمَتِكَ، وإِذَا خَرَجَ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِى ذُنُوبِى وافْتَحْ لِى أَبْوابَ فَضْلِك".

" عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ يَقُولُ: بِسْمِ اللهِ، وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي، وافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَاب رَحْمَتِكَ وَفَضْلِكَ".
