A supplication for insomnia

suyuti:339-51b – Zayd b. Thābit

[AI] I complained to the Prophet ﷺ of insomnia that had afflicted me. He said: "Say: O Allah, the stars have set, the eyes have become still, and You are the Living, the Self-Subsisting; neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes You. O Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, calm my night and make my eye sleep." So I said it, and Allah ﷻ removed from me what I had been experiencing.

السيوطي:٣٣٩-٥١b – عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ:

شَكَوْتُ إِلَى النَّبِىِّ ﷺ أَرَقًا أَصَابَنِى. قَالَ: «قُلْ: اللَّهُمَّ غَارَتِ النُّجُومُ، وَهَدَأَتِ الْعُيُونُ، وَأَنْتَ حَىُّ قَيُّومٌ، لَا تَأخُذُكَ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ، يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّومُ أهْدئ لَيْلِى، وَأَنِمْ عَيْنِى». فَقُلْتُهَا، فَأَذْهَبَ الله عَنِى مَا كُنْتُ أَجِدُ.

[Machine] I experienced insomnia one night, so I complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He said, "Say, 'O Allah, the stars have disappeared, and the eyes have calmed down, while You remain Alive and Eternal. O Ever-Living, O Sustainer of all existence, let my eyes sleep and bring tranquility to my night.'" So I said it, and my insomnia went away.

الطبراني:٤٨١٧ – حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ ثنا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ
