"لَا تُسَمِّ عبدَ العُزَّى، وسمِّ عبدَ الله، فَإنَّ خَيرَ الأَسماءِ عبدُ الله، وعبيدُ الله، والحَارثُ، وهَمَّامٌ".

[Machine] His father came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "What is your son's name?" The Prophet replied, "Abdul-Azza and Sabra and Harith." He said, "Do not name him Abdul-Azza, but name him Abdullah, for the best of names are Abdullah and Abdallah and Harith and Hammam." He then prayed for his son, and they have remained in honor until this day.  

الطبراني:١٩٠٤٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ النَّخَعِيِّ عَنْ سَبْرَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا وَلَدُكَ؟» فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الْعُزَّى وَسَبْرَةُ وَالْحَارِثُ قَالَ «لَا تُسَمِّ عَبْدَ الْعُزَّى وَسَمِّ عَبْدَ اللهِ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الْأَسْمَاءِ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَعُبَيْدُ اللهِ وَالْحَارِثُ وَهَمَّامٌ» وَدَعَا لِوَلَدِهِ فَمَا زَالُوا فِي شَرَفٍ إِلَى الْيَوْمِ
