سَبْرَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ الْجُعْفِيُّ جَدُّ خَيْثَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

tabarani:6559ʿAlī b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz And ʾAbū Muslim al-Kashhī > Ḥajjāj b. al-Minhāl > Ḥammād b. Salamah > al-Ḥajjāj > ʿUmayr b. Saʿīd > Sabrah b. Abū Sabrah

[Machine] His father came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "What is your offspring?" He (the Prophet) said, "Abd-ul-Uzza, Sadaqah, and Harith." He (the father) said, "Do not name him Abd-ul-Uzza." So, he (the Prophet) named him Abdullah. Then he said, "Indeed, the best of names are Abd-Allah and Abdur-Rahman." And he prayed for him and his children, and they remained in honor until this day. Abu Muhammad al-Hajjaj ibn al-Minhali Khaythama ibn Abdur-Rahman is among them.  

الطبراني:٦٥٥٩حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سَبْرَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا وَلَدُكَ؟» قَالَ عَبْدُ الْعُزَّى وَسَبْرَةُ وَالْحَارِثُ فَقَالَ «لَا تُسَمِّ عَبْدَ الْعُزَّى» فَسَمَّاهُ عَبْدَ اللهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّ خَيْرَ الْأَسْمَاءِ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ» وَدَعَا لَهُ وَلِوَلَدِهِ فَلَمْ يَزَالُوا فِي شَرَفٍ إِلَى الْيَوْمِ قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ خَيْثَمَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مِنْهُمْ

[Machine] His father, Abdulrahman, went with his grandfather to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "What is your son's name?" He replied, "Aziz." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not name him Aziz, but name him Abdulrahman." Then he said, "Indeed, the best names are Abdullah, Abdulrahman, and Al-Harith."

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ ذَهَبَ مَعَ جَدِّهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا اسْمُ ابْنِكَ؟ قَالَ عَزِيزٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا تُسَمِّهِ عَزِيزًا وَلَكِنْ سَمِّهِ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ خَيْرَ الْأَسْمَاءِ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَالْحَارِثُ
