Abu Musa got seriously ill, fainted and could not reply to his wife while he was lying with his head in her lap. When he came to his senses, he said, "I am innocent of those, of whom Messenger of Allah ﷺ was innocent. Messenger of Allah ﷺ is innocent of a woman who cries aloud (or slaps her face) who shaves her head and who tear off her clothes (on the falling of a calamity)
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: He who is lamented upon would be punished because of the lamentation for him on the Day of judgment.
ʿAbdullah bin Rawaha fell down unconscious and his sister ʿAmra started crying and was saying loudly, "O Jabala! Oh so-and-so! Oh so-and-so! and went on calling him by his (good ) qualities one by one). When he came to his senses, he said (to his sister), "When-ever you said something, I was asked, 'Are you really so (i.e. as she says)?"
Saʿd bin 'Ubada became sick and the Prophet ﷺ along with ʿAbdur Rahman bin ʿAuf, Saʿd bin Abi Waqqas and ʿAbdullah bin Masʿud visited him to inquire about his health. When he came to him, he found him surrounded by his household and he asked, "Has he died?" They said, "No, O Allah's Apostle." The Prophet ﷺ wept and when the people saw the weeping of Messenger of Allah ﷺ they all wept. He said, "Will you listen? Allah does not punish for shedding tears, nor for the grief of the heart but he punishes or bestows His Mercy because of this." He pointed to his tongue and added, "The deceased is punished for the wailing of his relatives over him." ʿUmar used to beat with a stick and throw stones and put dust over the faces (of those who used to wail over the dead).
One of the oaths which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ received from us about the virtue was that we would not disobey him in it (virtue): that we would not scratch the face, nor wail, nor tear the front of the garments nor dishevel the hair.
The Messenger of Allah said: "No one dies and they stand over him crying and saying: 'O what a great man he was! O how respectful he was!' except that two angels are appointed for him to poke him (saying): 'Is that you?'"
Two (things) are found among men which are tantamount to unbelief: slandering one's lineage and lamentation on the dead.

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The angels descend, the clouds and mention this or that matter decreed in the Heaven. The devils listen stealthily to such a matter, come down to inspire the soothsayers with it, and the latter would add to it one-hundred lies of their own."
Some people asked Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the fore-tellers. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them, "They are nothing (i.e., liars)." The people said, 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ ! Sometimes they tell something which comes out to be true." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "That word which comes to be true is what a jinx snatches away by stealing and then pours it in the ear of his fore-teller with a sound similar to the cackle of a hen, and then they add to it one-hundred lies."
He who visits a diviner ('Arraf) and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted.
The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone acquires any knowledge of astrology, he acquires a branch of magic of which he gets more as long as he continues to do so.
Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade taking the price of a dog, money earned by prostitution and the earnings of a soothsayer.

17.51 Forbiddance of Believing in Ill Omens
The Prophet ﷺ said, "No 'Adwa nor Tiyara; but I like Fal." They said, "What is the Fal?" He said, "A good word."
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "there is neither 'Adwa nor Tiyara, and an evil omen is only in three: a horse, a woman and a house."
When taking omens was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: The best type is the good omen, and it does not turn back a Muslim. If one of you sees anything he dislikes, he should say: O Allah, no one brings good things except Thee, and no one averts evil things except Thee and there is no might and power but in Allah.
17.52 Prohibition of Drawing Portraits
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Those who make these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them. 'Make alive what you have created.'"
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The painter of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, Make alive what you have created.' "
The Prophet ﷺ said, "The painters of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, 'Make alive what you have created."
Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from a journey when I had placed a curtain of mine having pictures over (the door of) a chamber of mine. When Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw it, he tore it and said, "The people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to make the like of Allah's creations." So we turned it (i.e., the curtain) into one or two cushions.
I was sitting with Ibn 'Abbas when he gave religious verdicts but he did not say that it was Messenger of Allah ﷺ who had said that. However when a man said to him (Ibn 'Abbas): I am the painter of these pictures. Ibn 'Abbas said: I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: He who painted pictures in the world would be compelled to breathe soul in them on the Day of Resurrection, but he would not be able to breathe soul (in them).
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Whoever makes an image will be commanded on the Day of Resurrection to breathe the soul into it but he will not be able to do so.'"
"I was sitting with Ibn 'Abbas when a man from among the people of Al-'Iraq came to him and said: 'I make these images; what do you say concerning them?' He said: 'Come closer, come closer. I heard Muhammad [SAW] say: Whoever makes an image in this world will be commanded on the Day of Resurrection to breathe a soul into it, and he will not be able to do so."
We were with Masruq at the house of Yasar bin Numair. Masruq saw pictures on his terrace and said, "I heard ʿAbdullah saying that he heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The people who will receive the severest punishment from Allah will be the picture makers.'"
I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Allah said, 'Who are most unjust than those who try to create something like My creation? I challenge them to create even a smallest ant, a wheat grain or a barley grain.' "
I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying; "Angels (of Mercy) do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or a picture of a living creature (a human being or an animal).
Abu Talha, a companion of Messenger of Allah ﷺ and one of those who fought at Badr together with Allah's Apostle told me that Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture" He meant the images of creatures that have souls.
Never has Allah or His messengers (angels) ever broken their promise. Then he cast a glance (and by chance) found a puppy under his cot and said: 'A'isha, when did this dog enter here? She said: By Allah, I don't know He then commanded and it was turned out. Then Gabriel came and Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: You promised me and I waited for you, but you did not come, whereupon he said: It was the dog in your house which prevented me (to come), for we (angels) do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.

Should I not send you on the same mission as Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me? Do not leave an image without obliterating it, or a high grave without levelling It. This hadith has been reported by Habib with the same chain of transmitters and he said: (Do not leave) a picture without obliterating it.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If anyone hears a man crying out in the mosque about something he has lost, he should say: May Allah not restore it to you, for the mosques were not built for this.

“O people, you eat two plants which I do not regard as anything but offensive: This garlic and these onions. At the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I would see a man, if the smell (of these vegetables) was found on him, being taken by the hand and led out to Baqi’ (graveyard). Whoever must eat them, let him cook them to death.”
