ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ بِإكْثَارِ الْمَاءِ فِي مَرَقَتِهِ، وَالْغَرْفِ لِجِيرَانِهِ بَعْدَهُ

ibnhibban:513 – al-Faḍl b. al-Ḥubāb > Sulaymān b. Ḥarb > Ḥammād b. Salamah > Abū ʿImrān al-Jawnī > ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ṣāmit > Abū Dhar

[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said: "When you cook a pot, increase its broth, for it is more generous to the family and the neighbors."  

ابن حبّان:٥١٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا طَبَخْتَ قِدْرًا فَأَكْثِرْ مَرَقَتَهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَوْسَعُ لِلْأَهْلِ وَالْجِيرَانِ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When you cook meat, increase the broth or water, for it is more abundant and more pleasing to the neighbors."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised me that if I cook a pot of soup, I should increase its broth, as it would be more sufficient for the neighbors.
