[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ called Fatimah during his illness, in which he was about to pass away. He wiped something over her and she cried. Then he called her again and wiped something over her and she laughed. Aisha asked her about that later, and she said, "The Prophet ﷺ wiped me the first time and informed me that he would pass away in his illness, so I cried. Then he wiped me again and informed me that I would be the first of his family to join him, so I laughed."
Al Miswar bin Makramah said that he heard the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ say on the pulpit Banu Hashim bin Al Mughirah sought permission from me to marry their daughter to ‘Ali bin Abi Talib. But I do not permit, again, I do not permit, again, I do not permit except that Ibn Abi Talib divorces my daughter and marries their daughter. My daughter is my part, what makes her uneasy makes me uneasy and what troubles her troubles me. The full information rests with the tradition narrated by Ahmad. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2071)
[Machine] "So I heard the Prophet ﷺ while he was delivering a sermon on the pulpit about that, and I was at that time like someone who is fenced in. He said, 'Indeed Fatimah is a part of me, and I fear that she may be tempted in her religion. And he mentioned a son-in-law for her from the family of Banu Abd Shams and praised his character in regards to his relationship with her. He said, 'He informed me, and he was truthful with me, and he promised me, and he fulfilled for me. And indeed, I do not make the lawful forbidden, nor do I make the forbidden lawful. But by Allah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah and the daughter of the enemy of Allah will never come together in one place.'"
[Machine] He informed her that Ali had proposed to Abu Jahl's daughter. So Fatimah went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "People claim that you do not get angry for the sake of your daughters, and Ali is marrying Abu Jahl's daughter." Al-Miswar said, "I witnessed this when he was giving his testimony, and he praised and thanked Allah. Then he said, 'As for the matter at hand, I have married my daughter to Abu Al-A'as ibn Al-Rabi'. He informed me, and he is truthful. Indeed, Fatimah is a part of me, and I swear by Allah that the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the daughter of Allah's enemy cannot be found together in a Muslim man's house." So Ali refrained from the proposal.
When al-Hasan was born, I named him Harb [which means war], then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and said: ʿShow me my son; what did you name him?ʿ We said: Harb. He said: ʿRather he is Hasan.” When al-Husain was born, I named him Harb, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and said: “Show me my son; what did you name him?” We said; Harb. He said: “Rather he is Husain.” When the third one was born, I named him Harb. The Prophet ﷺ came and said: “Show me my son, what did you name him?” I said. Harb. He said: ʿRather, he is Muhassin.ʿ Then he said: ʿI have named them after the fashion of the sons of Haroon, Shabbar and Shabeer and Mushabbir.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 769)

[Machine] From the Prophet, ﷺ , he said, "Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn are the masters of the youth of Paradise, except for the sons of the cousin, 'Isa ibn Maryam and Yahya ibn Zakariya."
[Machine] "I came to the Prophet ﷺ and prayed Maghrib with him, then he stood up and continued praying until he prayed Isha. Then he left and I followed him, and he said, 'An angel came to me seeking permission from his Lord to greet me and gave me the good news that Al-Hasan and Al-Husain are the leaders of the youth of Paradise.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to take me and place me on his thigh, and he would place Al-Hasan ibn Ali on his other thigh. Then, he would say, "O Allah, I love them, so please love them."

I saw Hasan b. 'Ali upon the shoulders of Allah's Apostle ﷺ and he was saying: O Allah, I love him, and love him Thou. (Using translation from Muslim 2422a)

[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in one of the markets of the city. He turned around and I turned with him. He said, "Call Hassan ibn Ali." So, Hassan came walking, and he had a cloak around his neck. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Like this, with his hand." So, Hassan did it with his hand like that, and the Prophet ﷺ took hold of it and said, "O Allah, I love him, so love him and love those who love him." Abu Hurairah said, "No one was more beloved to me after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than Hassan ibn Ali, after what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, and Al-Hasan would come while he was young. Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrated, Al-Hasan would climb on his back and the Prophet ﷺ would raise his head gently until he put him down. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, truly you do with this boy something that we have never seen you do with anyone else." He replied, "Indeed, he is my flower from this world. Surely, my son here is a leader, and perhaps Allah will reconcile through him two factions of Muslims."

"I came to the Prophet ﷺ one night concerning some need, so the Prophet ﷺ came out while he was covering up something, and I did not know what it was. Once I had tended to my need, I said: 'What is this that you were covering up?' So he uncovered it, and I found it was Hasan and Husain [peace be upon them] upon his hips. So he said: 'These are my two sons, and the sons of my daughter. O Allah! Indeed, I love them, so love them, and love those who love them.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3769)

A person asked ʿAbdullah bin ʿUmar whether a Muslim could kill flies. I heard him saying (in reply). "The people of Iraq are asking about the killing of flies while they themselves murdered the son of the daughter of Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Prophet ﷺ said, They (i.e. Hasan and Husain) are my two sweet basils in this world." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3753)

Al-Hasan ؓ most closely resembles the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the chest and head, and Al-Husain ؓ most closely resembles the Prophet ﷺ in what is lower than that. (Using translation from Aḥmad 774)

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to playfully stick out his tongue at Al-Hussein (may Allah be pleased with him), and when the young boy stuck his tongue back, he would move it towards him. Uyaynah ibn Badr said to him, "Should I not show you how to deal with him? By Allah, he will surely be your child. His face has already started resembling yours, and I have never seen you kiss him." [Machine] I was granted four verses. I struck someone with a sword and then went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to make a voluntary offering." He said, "Leave it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to make a voluntary offering and make me like someone who cannot afford." He said, "Leave it as it is from where you took it." Then this verse was revealed: "They ask you about the spoils of war" (Quran 8:1). A man from the Ansar prepared a meal and invited us. We drank alcohol until we became intoxicated. The Ansar and the Quraysh began to boast and say, "We are better than you." Then, a man from the Ansar took the lower jaw of a camel and hit Saad’s nose, breaking it. Saad then counter-attacked him and disfigured his nose. Saad's nose was cut open. Then, this verse was revealed: "Indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful" (Quran 5:90). Umm Saad said, "Hasn't Allah commanded righteousness? By Allah, I will neither eat food nor drink drink until I die or become infidel." They would plant barley for her when she wanted to eat, and this verse was revealed: "And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness" (Quran 31:14). The Prophet ﷺ visited me while I was ill. AbdurRahman ibn al-Akhnas said that when he was in the mosque, a man mentioned Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). So Sa'id ibn Zayd got up and said: I bear witness to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I heard him say: Ten persons will go to Paradise: The Prophet ﷺ will go to Paradise, AbuBakr will go to Paradise, Umar will go to Paradise, Uthman will go to Paradise, Ali will go to Paradise, Talhah will go to Paradise: az-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam will go to paradise, Sa'd ibn Malik will go to Paradise, and AbdurRahman ibn Awf will go to Paradise. If I wish, I can mention the tenth. The People asked: Who is he: So he kept silence. The again asked: Who is he: He replied: He is Sa'id ibn Zayd. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4649)
