I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The game of the land is lawful for you (when you are wearing ihram) as long as you do not hunt it or have it hunted on your behalf. Abu Dawud said: When two traditions from the Prophet ﷺ conflict, one should see which of them was followed by his Companions.  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ صَيْدُ الْبَرِّ لَكُمْ حَلاَلٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أَوْ يُصَدْ لَكُمْ  

The Prophet said: "The land game is lawful for you while you are in Ihram as long as you did not hunt it - or - it was not hunted for you."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَيْدُ الْبَرِّ لَكُمْ حَلاَلٌ وَأَنْتُمْ حُرُمٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أَوْ يُصَدْ لَكُمْ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ وَطَلْحَةَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said and Qutaybah said in his narration, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Hunting of land animals is permissible for you.' Sa'id said, 'And you are forbidden unless you hunt them or they are trapped for you.'"  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ صَيْدُ الْبَرِّ لَكُمْ حَلَالٌ قَالَ سَعِيدٌ وَأَنْتُمْ حُرُمٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أَوْ يُصَدْ لَكُمْ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Eat the meat of the game while you are in the state of lawful (Halal), unless you have not hunted it or it has been prohibited to you."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُوا لَحْمَ الصَّيْدِ وَأَنْتُمْ حُرُمٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أَوْ يُصَدْ لَكُمْ  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The flesh of the hunted animal is permissible for the one performing ihram, as long as it was not reserved or hunted exclusively for him."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَحْمُ الصَّيْدِ حَلَالٌ لِلْمُحْرِمِ مَا لَمْ يَصِدْهُ أَوْ يُصَدْ لَهُ  

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , it was narrated that he used to say, "The game meat from the land is halal (permissible) for you, but you are forbidden from it if you did not hunt it or it was not hunted for you."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ «لَحْمُ صَيْدِ الْبَرِّ لَكُمْ حَلَالٌ وَأَنْتُمْ حُرُمٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أَوْ يُصَادَ لَكُمْ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Hunting animals on land is permissible as long as you have not caught them or they have been caught for you."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «صَيْدُ الْبِرِّ حَلَالٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أَوْ يُصَادْ لَكُمْ»  

[Machine] From the narration of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he said: "The meat of hunted game is lawful for you, while you are in a state of prohibition, until you have hunted it or it has been hunted for you."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَحْمُ صَيْدِ الْبَرِّ لَكُمْ حَلَالٌ وَأَنْتُمْ حُرُمٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أَوْ يُصَدْ لَكُمْ  

"كُلُوا لَحْمَ الصَّيدِ وأنْتُمْ حُرُمٌ مَا لمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أوْ يُصْطَادُ (*) لَكُمْ".  

"لحْمُ صَيد البرِّ لَكُمْ حَلالٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوُه أو يُصَادُ لَكُم".  

"لَحْمُ الصَّيد حَلالٌ لَكُمْ مَا لَمْ تَصيدوه أو يُصَادُ لَكُمْ وأنْتُم حُرُمٌ".  

"لَحْمُ صيد البَرِّ لَكمْ حَلال وأنْتمْ حُرُمٌ مَا لَمْ تَصيدوُه أو يصَاد لَكُمْ".  

"صَيدُ الْبَرِّ لَكُمْ حَلَالٌ - وَأَنْتُمْ حَرُمٌ - مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوُه أَوْ يُصَادُ لَكُم".
