1. Book of Faith (3/6)
[Machine] The translation of the provided Arabic text is:
Narrated to us: Faith was revealed before the Quran, and the surahs are revealed to Muhammad (pbuh), so that he may learn their permissibility and prohibition, and what should be emphasized in. Just as you know that you are the Quran." Then, he said, "I have seen men who are given the Quran and they read from the beginning to the end, not knowing what to do or what to avoid, or what to emphasize out of it. They scatter it like scattered seeds."

" Six are cursed, being cursed by Allah and by every Prophet that came: The one who adds to Allah's Book, the one who denies Allah's Qadar, the one who rules with tyranny by which he honors whom Allah has debased, and he dishonors whom Allah has honored, and the one who legalizes what Allah forbade, and the one from my family who legalizes what Allah forbade, and the abandoner of my Sunnah." [Machine] A man came to the Prophet Muhammad and said, "O Muhammad, do you see a paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth? So, where is the fire?" The Prophet replied, "Have you not seen the night that covers everything? So, where does it put the day?" Allah knows best. The man said, "Indeed, Allah can do whatever He wills."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I do not know whether Tubba' was a Prophet or not, and I do not know whether Dhul-Qarnayn was a Prophet or not, and I do not know whether the prescribed punishments (hudood) are expiations for the people or not."
When Allah fashioned Adam in Paradise, He left him as He liked him to leave. Then Iblis roamed round him to see what actually that was and when he found him hollow from within, he recognised that he had been created with a disposition that he would not have control over himself. (Using translation from Muslim 2611a)
“You will most certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, arm’s length by arm’s length, forearm’s length by forearm’s length, hand span by hand span, until even if they entered a hole of a mastigure (lizard) you will enter it too.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said: “Who else?” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3994)
[Machine] I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the funeral of a man from the Ansar. When we reached the grave, and it was about to be covered with soil, the Prophet ﷺ sat down and looked towards the sky and the earth. He raised his gaze and lowered it three times, then he said, "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave." Then he said, "Verily, when a believing man is about to depart from this world and enter the Hereafter, angels with faces as bright as the sun descend upon him. They bring with them shrouds from Paradise and perfumes from Paradise. They sit with him as far as the eye can see." He said, "Then the angel of death comes to him and sits by

This was narrated by Sufyan bin Sa'id, Shu'bah bin al-Hajjaj, and Zaidah bin Qudamah, who are the imams and preservers of the Ahmash. As for the narration of Thawri...

'Ali ibn Abd al-Aziz narrated to us from Ibrahim ibn Ziyad Sabalan, who narrated from Abbada ibn Abbada who said, "I came to Yunus ibn Khubbab in Mina by the minaret, and he was narrating. [Machine] Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri entered upon the Messenger of Allah while he was wrapped in a Qatifa (a type of Yemeni garment made of wool) and he placed his hand on it and felt its heat above the Qatifa. Abu Sa'id said, "O Messenger of Allah, your cloak is very hot!" The Messenger of Allah said, "Indeed, we are inflicted with trials in this manner, and our reward is multiplied." Then Abu Sa'id asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who experiences the most severe trials?" The Messenger of Allah replied, "The prophets." Abu Sa'id asked again, "Then who?" He replied, "The scholars." Abu Sa'id asked once more, "Then who?" He replied, "Then the righteous." One of them would be tested with poverty to the extent that he could only find a garment to wear, and another would be tested with lice to the point of killing them. And none of them would be happier with trials than one of you would be with receiving gifts." Abu Al-Abbas narrated this to us from Bahar in the Musnad, and from Ar-Rabi' in Al-Fawaid, and I have combined both narrations.

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Who are the people who face the most severe trials?" He replied, "The prophets, then those who are most like them, then those who are most like them. When a person has strong faith, they are tested in accordance with their level of faith. And whoever has weak faith, will have weak trials."
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which people are most severely tested?’ He said: ‘The Prophets, then the next best and the next best. A person is tested according to his religious commitment. If he is steadfast in his religious commitment, he will be tested more severely, and if he is frail in his religious commitment, his test will be according to his commitment. Trials will continue to afflict a person until they leave him walking on the earth with no sin on him.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4023)
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "When the appointed term of one of you is near and Allah has granted him a need in a specific land, then when he reaches the furthest extent of his footsteps, he will die. On the Day of Resurrection, the earth will say, 'O Lord, this is what You entrusted to me.' The two trustworthy men, the sheikhs, have attested to the authenticity of this hadith, with their narrators ending with 'Umar ibn Ali al-Muqaddami, which is agreed upon to be included in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Wahbi has also followed him in his chain of narration from Isma'il, based on their conditions."

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "If anyone's buried body is in the ground, and the need of that person arises, he is allowed to be dug up. When the remains are taken out, the earth will say on the Day of Resurrection: 'O Lord, this is what You entrusted me with.' And this hadith is narrated by Hisham from Ismail ibn Abi Khalid."

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "When the term of one of you is near and he is in need of something in the land, Allah will fulfill it for him. Then on the Day of Resurrection, the earth will say, 'O Lord, this is what You entrusted to me.'" This hadith is supported by three trustworthy individuals reporting it from Isma'il, and Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah also agreed with them. We are adhering to the condition of excluding additional reports from trustworthy sources in the chain of narration, and for this hadith, there are further evidence supporting the condition of the two sheikhs. Among them is...
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "When Allah decrees death for a person in a certain place, He provides for him a need in that place." This is according to the condition of both.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah has not appointed a man to live on Earth except that He has made for him a need in it."
"When Allah decrees that a slave (of His) is to die in a land, He makes him have some need from it." Another chain reports a similar narration. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2146)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer is honorable and generous, while the sinner is hypocritical and contemptible." This was narrated by Ibn Shihab, 'Abd Rabih ibn Nafi‘ al-Hannat and Yahya ibn al-Durays from al-Thawri during his stay. Hajjaj ibn Abid is acceptable.
1.4 [Machine] As for the saying of Abu Shihab
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer is noble and generous, while the sinful one is humble and contemptible." As for the narration of Yahya ibn Dhirays, Muhammad ibn Humayd differs from it.
The Prophet ﷺ said: The believer is simple and generous, but the profligate is deceitful and ignoble. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4790)
[Machine] To read to him and his son the book of instructions, I said, "When I go to Mina, I will tell you." So when I went to Mina, I took my book and told him. Then I went to Mecca for a visit, where I met Abu Usama who said to me, "O Yamani, that boy from Rawas deceived you." I said, "How did he deceive me?" He said, "You took your book to him and told him." I said, "It's not surprising that he deceived me." Barth narrated to me from Yahya bin Abi Kathir from Abu Salama from Abu Hurayrah who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer is simple and generous while the evildoer is deceitful and ignoble." He then took out the singular narration and said, "Dictate to me." I said, "By Allah, I will not dictate it to you." So he left. I heard Ali bin Isa saying, "I heard Husayn bin Muhammad bin Ziyad saying, 'I heard Muhammad bin Yahya saying, 'Abu al-Asbat al-Harithi is Bashr bin Rafi'.''"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "Whoever kills a person who has a treaty with the Muslims unjustly, his smell will not reach Paradise, even though its fragrance can be smelled from a distance of five hundred years of travel."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever kills a person who has a treaty with the Muslims, unjustly, Allah has made Paradise forbidden for him. The smell of its fragrance can be found from a distance of five hundred years." As for the saying of Yunus bin Ubaid on behalf of Al-Hakam bin Al-Araj
The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone kills a man whom he grants protection prematurely, Allah will forbid him to enter Paradise. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2760)
[Machine] There was a lazy man who used to enter upon the rulers and make them laugh. So my grandfather said to him, "Woe to you, O so-and-so! Why do you enter upon them and make them laugh? I have heard Bilal ibn Al-Harith Al-Muzani, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , narrate that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Verily, a servant may speak a word that pleases Allah, thinking it will not reach what it reached, and Allah is pleased with it for him until the Day of Resurrection. And indeed, a servant may speak a word that angers Allah, thinking it will not reach what it reached, and Allah is angered by it until the day he meets Him.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A person may utter a word without thinking about its consequences, which displeases Allah. As a result, Allah writes His displeasure for him until the Day of Resurrection. Similarly, a person may speak a word without realizing its reach, which pleases Allah. Consequently, Allah records His pleasure for him until the day he meets Him." (Narrated by Isma'il ibn Ja'far)
[Machine] He heard the Prophet (pbuh) saying, "Indeed, one of you may speak a word that pleases Allah, not realizing how far it will reach, and Allah will write His pleasure with that word for him until the day he meets Him. And indeed, one of you may speak a word that angers Allah, not realizing how far it will reach, and Allah will write His anger with that word against him until the day he meets Him." (Reported by Muslim)
[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Verily, one of you may speak a word that pleases Allah, thinking it will not reach the extent it has reached, so Allah records His pleasure with it until the day he meets Him, and indeed one of you may speak a word that angers Allah, not realizing its extent, so Allah records His anger with it until the day he meets Him."
1.5 [Machine] And as for the story of Muhammad ibn Bishr...
A man with honor passed by him while he was in the city market and greeted him. Alqamah said to him, "O so-and-so, you have a heart and a right. I have seen you enter upon these princes and speak to them as Allah wills you to speak. I have heard Bilal ibn Al-Harith Al-Muzani, the companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Verily, one of you speaks a word from Allah's pleasure, not realizing how far it reaches, but Allah writes His Pleasure therewith until the Day he shall meet Him. And verily, one of you speaks a word from Allah's displeasure, not realizing how far it reaches, but Allah writes His displeasure therewith until the Day he shall meet Him.'" Alqamah said, "Woe to you! Consider what you say and what you speak. Much of what I have heard from Bilal ibn Al-Harith has prevented me from what you are saying. Malik ibn Anas also shortened the narration of this Hadith from Muhammad ibn Amr, and did not mention Alqamah ibn Waqqas."

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi praised what was recited on Malik, and Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq informed us that Al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Ziyad informed us that Ibn Abi Uwais narrated to us that Malik reported from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Alqamah from his father from Bilal ibn Al-Harith Al-Muzani that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, a person may speak a word from the pleasure of Allah, not realizing its significance, and Allah will record His pleasure for him with it until the day he meets Him. And indeed, a person may speak a word of Allah's anger, not realizing its significance, and Allah will record His anger for him with it until the day he meets Him."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Woe to him who tells things, speaking falsely, to make people laugh thereby. Woe to him! Woe to him!. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4990)
[Machine] O Messenger of Allah, Omar said, "I heard so-and-so mentioning and praising you, claiming that you gave him two dinars." The Prophet replied, "But that is not true. However, Omar, he did receive a sum of money from me, ranging between one hundred to ten." Then he said, "And indeed, one of you may come to me with their request, and I will give it to them while holding firmly onto it." Ahmad or someone similar said, "And it is nothing but fire." Omar then said, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you give them?" He replied, "What can I do? They ask of me and Allah refuses to make me stingy."
[Machine] Two men entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him for something. So, he prayed for them with two dinars. And then they praised him for the good fortune. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "However, so-and-so did not say that, and I have given him between ten and one hundred. What he says does not matter, for one of you may give in charity (sadaqah) from me and hold it tightly, but it is only for him a fire." So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, how do you give him knowing that it is only a fire for him?" He said, "What can I do? They only ask me, and Allah does not like me to be miserly." "As for Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman ar-Raqqi, they did not bring him out, but Muslim ibn Abdillah ibn Bashr ar-Raqqi reported it, except that this hadith is not the cause for the hadith of al-A'mash from Abu Salih, for indeed he has another chain of narration serving as a witness for him."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "It is not appropriate for a believer to be foul-mouthed."
