He saw a man praying (And his bowing and prostration) were lacking. Hudhaifah said to him: 'For how long have you been praying like this?' He said: "For forty years.' He said: 'You have not been praying for forty years and if you die praying like this, you will have died following a path other than the path of Muhammad ﷺ. Then he said: 'It is possible for a man to pray briefly, but still do it properly."

لَهُ حُذَيْفَةُ مُنْذُ كَمْ تُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ قَالَ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ عَامًا قَالَ مَا صَلَّيْتُ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً وَلَوْ مِتَّ وَأَنْتَ تُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ لَمِتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ فِطْرَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُخَفِّفُ وَيُتِمُّ وَيُحْسِنُ

[Machine] Hudhayfah entered the mosque and found a man praying near the windows of Kindah. He noticed that the man did not complete his bowing or prostration. After the man finished, Hudhayfah asked him, "How long have you been performing this prayer?" The man replied, "For forty years." Hudhayfah then said, "You have not prayed for forty years. If you were to die, your prayer would not be valid unless you prayed in the manner that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prayed." Then Hudhayfah approached him and taught him the correct way to perform the prayer and said, "Indeed, a person may cheat in their prayer, and yet they still complete the bowing and prostration."

دَخَلَ حُذَيْفَةُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ يُصَلِّي مِمَّا يَلِي أَبْوَابَ كِنْدَةَ فَجَعَلَ لَا يُتِمُّ الرُّكُوعَ وَلَا السُّجُودَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ لَهُ حُذَيْفَةُ مُنْذُ كَمْ هَذِهِ صَلَاتُكَ؟ قَالَ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ حُذَيْفَةُ مَا صَلَّيْتَ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً وَلَوْ مُتَّ وَهَذِهِ صَلَاتُكَ لَمُتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْفِطْرَةِ الَّتِي فُطِرَ عَلَيْهَا مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِ يُعَلِّمُهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُخِفُّ فِي صَلَاتِهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَيُتِمُّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ

[Machine] He saw a man who did not complete the bowing or prostration, so when he finished his prayer, Hudhayfah called him and said to him, "How long have you been praying this prayer?" He replied, "I have been praying it for such and such time." Hudhayfah said to him, "You have not prayed, or you have not prayed a prayer for Allah, in the manner of the guided ones, and I believe that even if you die, you will die on a way other than the Sunnah of Muhammad ﷺ ."

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا لَا يُتِمُّ رُكُوعًا وَلَا سُجُودًا فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ دَعَاهُ حُذَيْفَةُ فَقَالَ لَهُ مُنْذُ كَمْ صَلَّيْتَ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتُهَا مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ مَا صَلَّيْتَ أَوْ قَالَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ لِلَّهِ صَلَاةً شَكَّ مَهْدِيٌّ وَأَحْسِبُهُقَالَ وَلَوْ مُتَّ مُتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ سُنَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ

[Machine] Hudhaifah saw a man at the gates of Kindah knocking, so he said, "How long have you been praying this prayer?" He replied, "For forty years." Hudhaifah said, "If I were to die, I would die upon a way other than the way that Muhammad ﷺ was upon. Indeed, the man lightens and completes the bowing and prostration."

رَأَى حُذَيْفَةُ رَجُلًا عِنْدَ أَبْوَابِ كِنْدَةَ يَنْقُرُ فَقَالَ «مُذْ كَمْ صَلَّيْتَ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ؟ » قَالَ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً؟ قَالَ «لَوْ مُتَّ مُتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْفِطْرَةِ الَّتِي فُطِرَ عَلَيْهَا مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُخَفِّفُ وَيُتِمُّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ»

[Machine] He came across a man who was praying but was not completing the bowing and prostrations. So he asked him, "How long have you been praying like this?" The man replied, "For forty years, or maybe it was such and such time." He said to him, "You have not prayed to God a prayer since such and such time." He said, "Mahdi (the guided one) and I believe he said, "If you were to die, you would die upon other than the Sunnah of Muhammad ﷺ."

أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يُصَلِّي لَا يُتِمُّ رُكُوعًا وَلَا سُجُودًا فَقَالَ لَهُ مُذْ كَمْ تُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ؟ فَقَالَ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً أَوْ قَالَ مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ لِلَّهِ صَلَاةً مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ مَهْدِيٌّ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ لَهُ لَوْ مُتَّ لَمُتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ سُنَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ

"عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهبٍ قَال: دَخَلَ حُذَيْفَةُ الْمَسْجِدَ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ يُصَلَّى لَا يُتِمُّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ لَهُ حُذَيْفةُ: مُذْ كَمْ هَذِهِ صَلَاتُكَ؟ قَالَ: مذ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ: صَلَّيْتَ مذ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً وَلَوْ مِتّ وَهذهِ صَلَاتُكَ مِتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْفِطْرَة الَّتِى فُطِرَ عَلَيْهَا مُحَمَّد، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِ يُعَلِّمهُ، فَقَالَ: إنَّ الرَّجُلَ ليُخَفِّفُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَيُتِمُّ الرُّكُوعَ والسُّجُودَ".
