Qatadah narrated that ʿUthman ؓ was killed when he was ninety years old or eighty-eight years old.  

أحمد:٥٤٧ – حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلالٍ

حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُأَنَّ عُثْمَانَ قُتِلَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ تِسْعِينَ سَنَةً أَوْ ثَمَانٍ وَثَمَانِينَ
