[Machine] I heard Tariq ibn Shihab say, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I participated in battles during the caliphates of Abu Bakr and Umar for about forty-three or thirty-three engagements, including both major campaigns and minor expeditions." Ibn Ja'far said, "It was thirty-three or forty-three battles, from campaigns to minor skirmishes."
سَمِعْتُ طَارِقَ بْنَ شِهَابٍ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَغَزَوْتُ فِي خِلَافَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ بِضْعًا وَأَرْبَعِينَ أَوْ بِضْعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ مِنْ بَيْنِ غَزْوَةٍ وَسَرِيَّةٍ وقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا وَأَرْبَعِينَ مِنْ غَزْوَةٍ إِلَى سَرِيَّةٍ
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and participated in battles during the caliphate of Abu Bakr and Umar. Thirty-three or thirty-four battles from Ghazwat to Sariyah.
