I was under the care of Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him), and as my hand used to roam about in the dish he said to me: Boy, mention the name of Allah, and eat with your right hand and eat from what is near to you.

كُنْتُ فِي حَجْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَكَانَتْ يَدِي تَطِيشُ فِي الصَّحْفَةِ فَقَالَ لِي يَا غُلاَمُ سَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: Come near, my son, mention Allah's name, eat with your right hand and eat from what is next to you.

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ادْنُ بُنَىَّ فَسَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ

That he entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he has some food. He said: "Sit down O my son! Mention Allah's Name and eat with your right hand, and eat what is nearest to you."

أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَعِنْدَهُ طَعَامٌ فَقَالَ ادْنُ يَا بُنَىَّ وَسَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ

from the Prophet ﷺ: "For whomever I am his mawla (leader) then Ali is his mawla."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلاَهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلاَهُ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Say Bismillah (in the name of Allah) and eat from what is in front of you."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ «سَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "In the name of Allah, and eat whatever is before you."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ «سَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

"Your oath is as your companion understands it to be." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2121)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَمِينُكَ عَلَى مَا يَصْدُّ قَكَ بِهِ صَاحِبُكَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should wish for death."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَتَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: There is no ghoul. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3913)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ يَا بُنَيَّ

Life grant is for one upon whom it is bestowed. (Using translation from Muslim 1625f)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْعُمْرَى لِمَنْ وُهِبَتْ لَهُ

[AI] The translation of the passage into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'O my son, come closer and mention the name of Allah and eat from what is in front of you.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ يَا بُنَيَّ ادْنُهْ وَسَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah invited me to a meal that he was eating, so he said, "Say Bismillah (In the name of Allah), then eat with your right hand, and eat from what is closest to you."

دَعَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِطَعَامٍ يَأْكُلُهُ فَقَالَ ادْنُ فَسَمِّ اللهَ ﷻ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever starts hostility."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ بَدَا جَفَا

"I entered upon 'Abdullah bin 'Ukaim Abu Mabad Al-Juhani to visit him, while he had Humrah. I said:'Why don't you hang something?' He said: 'Death is better than that. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever hangs something, he is entrusted to it." Another chain reports a similar narration. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2072)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ تَعَلَّقَ شَيْئًا وُكِلَ إِلَيْهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever I am his guardian, Ali is his guardian."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ كُنْتُ وَلِيَّهُ فَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone kills a man whom he grants protection prematurely, Allah will forbid him to enter Paradise. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2760)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَتَلَ مُعَاهَدًا فِي غَيْرِ كُنْهِهِ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever prays in a garment, let him be kind and gentle to it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَلَّى فِي ثَوْبٍ فَلْيَعْطِفْ عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] To me, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Sit, my son, mention Allah's name, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is in front of you." He said, "By Allah, my food did not end."

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اجْلِسْ يَا بُنَيَّ وَسَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ» قَالَ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا زَالَتْ أَكْلَتِي بَعْدُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ invited him to a meal and said, "Come, my son, eat from what is in front of you and eat with your right hand, and remember the name of Allah over it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَعَاهُ إِلَى طَعَامٍ فَقَالَ «تَعَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ كُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: Come near, my son, mention Allah's name, eat with your right hand and eat from what is next to you. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3777)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «ادْنُ بُنَيَّ فَسَمِّ اللَّهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever I am his guardian, then Ali is his guardian."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كُنْتُ وَلِيُّهُ فَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّهُ»

from the Prophet ﷺ: "For whomever I am his Mawla then 'Ali is his Mawla." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3713)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلَيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ»

[AI] That he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever I am his guardian, then Ali is his guardian."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ»

[AI] "That the Prophet ﷺ was brought food, and he said to him, 'O Umar, O my son, recite the name of Allah and eat with your right hand, and eat from what is in front of you.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ «يَا عُمَرُ يَا بُنَيَّ سَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ invited me and said, "O boy!" So I said, "Here I am." He said, "Sit down, O my son, and mention the name of Allah and eat with your right hand and eat from what is in front of you."

دَعَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ «يَا غُلَامُ» فَقُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ فَقَالَ «اقْعُدْ يَا بُنَيَّ وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللهِ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and there was food in front of him. He told me, "Come close and eat, and mention the name of Allah before you."

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ طَعَامٌ فَقَالَ لِي «ادْنُهْ وَكُلْ وَسَمِّ اللهَ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ seated me with him at a meal and said to me, "Say 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah) and eat with your right hand and eat from what is in front of you."

أَقْعَدَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَعَهُ عَلَى طَعَامٍ فَقَالَ لِي «سَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whomever I am his master, then Ali is his master."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever I am his guardian, Ali is his guardian."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كُنْتُ وَلِيَّهُ فَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّهُ»

أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعِنْدَهُ طَعَامٌ فَقَالَ «ادْنُهْ يَا بُنَيَّ فَسَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "O my son, when you eat, say the name of Allah, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is in front of you."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَا بُنَيَّ إِذَا أَكَلْتَ فَسَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ one day while he was eating. He said, "Sit and eat, O my son, and mention the name of Allah and eat with your right hand, and eat from what is in front of you."

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمًا وَهُوَ يَأْكُلُ قَالَ «اقْعُدْ كُلْ يَا بُنَيَّ وَسَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ»

[AI] It is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Say Bismillah and eat from what is in front of you." Qutaybah disagreed with him.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ «سَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ» خَالَفَهُ قُتَيْبَةُ

The Prophet ﷺ said: Come near, my son, mention Allah's name, eat with your right hand and eat from what is next to you. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3777)

"أدنُ يا بنىَّ، فسم الله، فكل بيمِينك، وكلْ مما يليك".

"أَلَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَلِيىِّ، وَأنَا وَلِىُّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ، مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلِىُّ مَوْلَاهُ ".

"مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلاهُ فعلَيٌّ مَوْلاهُ".

"مَنْ كُنْتُ وَليَّهُ فعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّهُ".

"مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلاهُ فعَلِيٌّ مَوْلاهُ، اللَّهُمَّ وال مَنْ والاهُ، وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ".

"يَا غُلَامُ: سَمِّ الله، وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ، وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ".

"أَكَلْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ طَعَامًا، فَقَالَ: كُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ، وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ، وَاذْكُر اسْمَ اللهِ".
