Ask me and I shall leave no question of yours unanswered for you, and when the people heard about it they were overawed, as if (something tragic) was going to happen. Anas said: I began to look towards the right and the left and (found) that every person was weeping wrapping his head with the cloth. Then a person in the mosque broke the ice and they used to dispute with him by attributing his fatherhood to another man than his own father. He said: Allah's Apostle, who is my father? He said: Your father is Hudhafa. Then 'Umar b. Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) dared say something and said: We are well pleased with Allah as our Lord, with Islam as our code of life and with Muhammad as our Messenger, seeking refuge with Allah from the evil of Turmoil. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Never did I see the good and evil as today. Paradise and Hell were given a visible shape before me (in this worldly life) and I saw both of them near this well. Once the people started asking Messenger of Allah ﷺ questions, and they asked so many questions that he became angry and ascended the pulpit and said, "I will answer whatever questions you may ask me today." I looked right and left and saw everyone covering his face with his garment and weeping. Behold ! There was a man who, on quarreling with the people, used to be called as a son of a person other than h is father. He said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Who is my father?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Your father is Hudhaifa." And then ʿUmar got up and said, "We accept Allah as our Lord, and Islam as (our) religion, and Muhammad as (our) Apostle; and we seek refuge with Allah from the afflictions." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, " I have never seen a day like today in its good and its evil for Paradise and the Hell Fire were displayed in front of me, till I saw them just beyond this wall." Qatada, when relating this Hadith, used to mention the following Verse:-- 'O you who believe! Ask not questions about things which, If made plain to you, May cause you trouble. (5.101)

[Machine] The people asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about something until they exhausted him with questions. So, one day, he ascended the pulpit and said, "Do not ask me about anything until I explain it to you." Anas said, "I turned my head to the right and left, and I saw every person had tucked their head in their garment and was crying." He said, "A man started to say, 'O Messenger of Allah, who is my father?' He (the Prophet) said, 'Your father is Hudhaifah.' Abu 'Amir said, 'I consider him one of the best fathers.' Then, a man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, am I in Paradise or in Hell?' He (the Prophet) said, 'You are in Hell.' Then, 'Umar started and said, 'We are content with Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion, and Muhammad as our Prophet. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of trials.' Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I have never seen a day like today, where good and evil are so clearly distinguished. Paradise and Hell were presented to me, and I saw them as if they were in front of the wall.'"
