I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "If the son of Adam (the human being) had two valleys of money, he would wish for a third, for nothing can fill the belly of Adam's son except dust, and Allah forgives him who repents to Him."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَوْ كَانَ لاِبْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ مَالٍ لاَبْتَغَى ثَالِثًا وَلاَ يَمْلأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلاَّ التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

If the son of Adam were to possess two valleys of riches. he would long for the third one. And the stomach of the son of Adam is not filled but with dust. And Allah returns to him who repents.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَوْ كَانَ لاِبْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ مَالٍ لاَبْتَغَى وَادِيًا ثَالِثًا وَلاَ يَمْلأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلاَّ التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

“If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would love to have a third along with them. Nothing could satisfy him except dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of the one who repents.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لاِبْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ لأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ مَعَهُمَا ثَالِثٌ وَلاَ يَمْلأُ نَفْسَهُ إِلاَّ التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

[Machine] I heard the Prophet of Allahﷺ saying, "If the son of Adam had a valley full of money, they would love to have another similar to it, and nothing fills the son of Adam's soul except dust. Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent." Ibn Abbas said, "I do not know if this is from the Quran or not."

سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مَالًا لَأَحَبَّ أَنَّ لَهُ إِلَيْهِ مِثْلَهُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ نَفْسَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَاللهُ يَتُوبُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَلَا أَدْرِي أَمِنَ الْقُرْآنِ هُوَ أَمْ لَا؟

“If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would love to have a third along with them. Nothing could satisfy him except dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of the one who repents.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4235)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ لَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ وَادٍ آخَرُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ فَاهُ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

[Machine] I used to hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "I do not know if something has been revealed to me or if I am speaking on my own accord." If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would desire a third one, and nothing would fill the belly of the son of Adam except dust. Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents.

أَسْمَعُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فَلَا أَدْرِي أَشَيْءٌ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْ شَيْءٌ يَقُولُهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ؟ لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَابْتَغَى لَهُمَا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

[Machine] "The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to say, "If the son of Adam had two valleys full of wealth, he would wish for a third valley. And nothing would fill the son of Adam's belly except dust." Al-Affan said, "Then Allah will accept the repentance of those who repent."

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ إِذًا لَابْتَغَى وَادِيًا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْتَابَ

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ – and I do not know whether something was Revealed down upon him or he used to say, "If the son of Adam owned two valleys, he would certainly wish for" or "certaintly want a third valley. And nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except the dirt ˹of the grave˺, yet Allah turns to whoever repents."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ – فَلَا أَدْرِي أَشَيْءٌ أُنْزِلَ أَوْ كَانَ يَقُولُهُ –: «لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَتَمَنَّى» أَوْ «لَابْتَغَى وَادِيًا ثَالِثًا۔ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ، وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ۔»

I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "If the son of Adam (the human being) had two valleys of money, he would wish for a third, for nothing can fill the belly of Adam's son except dust, and Allah forgives him who repents to Him." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6436)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِمَا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every son of Adam is a sinner, and the best of sinners are those who repent. If the son of Adam had two valleys full of wealth, he would still seek a third. Nothing can fill the belly of the son of Adam except dust."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ خَطَّاءٌ فَخَيْرُ الْخَطَّائِينَ التَّوَّابُونَ وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَابْتَغَى لَهُمَا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say something but I do not know if it was revealed or if he said it himself. If the son of Adam had a valley full of wealth, he would still desire a second valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam except dust. Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَا أَدْرِي أَشَيْءٌ أُنْزِلَ أَمْ كَانَ يَقُولُهُ لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَقَالَ حَجَّاجٌ لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَتَمَنَّى وَادِيًا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

[Machine] We used to read in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that if the son of Adam had two valleys of gold and silver, he would desire a third, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam except dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents.

لَقَدْ كُنَّا نَقْرَأُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِمَا آخَرَ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ بَطْنَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If the son of Adam had a valley of wealth, he would desire two valleys, and if he had two valleys, he would desire a third. Nothing can fill the stomach of the son of Adam except dust (of the grave)."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مِنْ مَالٍ لَتَمَنَّى وَادِيَيْنِ وَلَوْ أَنَّ لَهُ وَادِيَيْنِ لَتَمَنَّى ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ

[Machine] I hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I do not know whether something is being revealed to him or he is saying something; and he says, "If the son of Adam had a valley full of wealth, he would seek to have a second one, and nothing can fill the belly of the son of Adam except dust. Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent."

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "If the son of Adam had a valley of wealth, he would desire to have another similar to it. However, nothing can fill the soul of the son of Adam except dust. Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ مِلْءَ وَادِي مَالٍ لَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ مِثْلُهُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ نَفْسَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَاللَّهُ يَتُوبُ عَلَى مِنْ تَابَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would desire a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except the dust. Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ نَخْلٍ لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِ ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "If the son of Adam had a valley full of dates, he would wish for another similar to it, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam except dust."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادٍ مِنْ نَخْلٍ لَتَمَنَّى إِلَيْهِ مِثْلَهُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ»

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "If the son of Adam had a valley filled with wealth, he would desire to have another one similar to it. But nothing fills the son of Adam's soul except dust, and Allah forgives those who repent."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مَالًا لَأُحِبَّ أَنَّ لَهُ مِثْلَهُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ نَفْسَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»

[Machine] "We used to read during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , 'If the son of Adam had a valley of gold or silver, he would still wish for a third, and nothing would fill the son of Adam's stomach except dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent.'"

كُنَّا نَقْرَأُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ أَوْ فِضَّةٍ لَتَمَنَّى الثَّالِثُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ بَطْنَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»

[Machine] "From the Prophet ﷺ he said, 'If the son of Adam had two valleys, he would wish for a third valley, and the only purpose of wealth is to establish prayer and give zakat, and the son of Adam cannot be satisfied except with dust, and Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ لَتَمَنَّى وَادِيًا ثَالِثًا وَمَا جُعِلَ الْمَالُ إِلَّا لِإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَلَا يُشْبِعُ ابْنَ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would seek a third, and nothing would fill the belly of the son of Adam except dust. Allah will accept the repentance of whoever repents to Him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِمَا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "If the son of Adam were to possess two valleys of wealth, he would still desire a third, and nothing can fill the son of Adam except dust. Allah accepts the repentance of those who repent."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ سُئِلَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ مَالٍ لَتَمَنَّى إِلَيْهِمَا ثَالِثًا وَلَا يُشْبِعُ ابْنَ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»

اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قَالَ لَوْ كَانَ لابْنِ آدَمَ وَادٍ مِنْ مَالٍ لابْتَغَى وَادِيًا ثَانِيًا ولاَ يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابن آدم إلاَّ التراب ويتوب على من تاب

عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فَلا أَدْرِي أَشَيْءٌ أُنْزِلَ أَمْ كَانَ يَقُولُهُ لَوْ أَنَّ لابْنِ آدَمَ وَاديًا مِنْ مَالٍ لَتَمَنَّى أَوْ لابْتَغَى وَادِيًا ثَانِيًا ولاَ يَمْلأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إلاَّ التُّرَابُ ويتوب الله على من تاب

اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قَالَ فَلا أَدْرِي أَشَيْءٌ نَزَلَ أَمْ كَانَ يَقُولُهُ لَوْ كَانَ لابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مِنْ مَالٍ لَتَمَنَّى أَوْ لابْتَغَى ثَانِيًا ولاَ يملأ جوف ابن آدم إلاَّ التراب

اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قال لو كان لابن آدم واديين مِنْ مَالٍ لابْتَغَى وَادِيًا ثَالثًا ولاَ يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إلاَّ التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ

"لَوْ سِيلَ لابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِن مَالٍ لَتَمَنَّى إلَيهِمَا ثَالثًا وَلا يُشْبِعُ ابْنَ آدم إلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ".

"لَوْ كَانَ لابْنِ آدَمَ وَاد من مَال لابْتَغَى إِليه ثَانِيًا وَلَوْ كَانَ لَهُ وَاديَانِ لابْتَغَى لَهُمَا ثَالِثًا، وَلَا يَمْلأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ (إِلّا التُراب) (*)، ويتوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَاب".

"لَوْ أنَّ لابنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَين لَتَمَنَّى وَادِيًا ثَالثًا، وَمَا جُعِلَ المالُ إلَّا لإِقام الصلاةِ، وإيتاءِ الزكَاة، وَلَا يُشْبعُ ابْنَ آدَم إلَّا التُّرابُ، وَيتُوبُ الله عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ".

"لَوْ أَنَّ لِلإنْسَانِ وَادِيَينِ مِنْ مَالٍ لابْتَغَى وَادِيًا ثَالثًا، وَلَا يَمْلأُ نَفْسَ ابْنَ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ، وَيَتُوبُ الله عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ".
