[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray on a mat, so he said, "O Aisha, remove your mat because I fear that it will distract the people."  

أحمد:٢٦١١١حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى خُمْرَةٍ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ ارْفَعِي عَنَّا حَصِيرَكِ هَذَا فَقَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ يَكُونَ يَفْتِنَ النَّاسَ

[Machine] Aisha went out when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was among us, and when we were in the desert, we dispersed. I was riding a camel, and he was the last one among them. I could hear the voice of the Prophet ﷺ while he was between my shoulders, saying, "Woe to their wedding garments!" She said, "By Allah! I am on it when a caller called me to throw the reins, so I threw them, and Allah straightened them with His hand."  

أحمد:٢٦١١٢حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شَدَّادٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ قَالَتْ

عَائِشَةُ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا كُنَّا بِالْحَزِّ انْصَرَفْنَا وَأَنَا عَلَى جَمَلٍ وَكَانَ آخِرُ الْعَهْدِ مِنْهُمْ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ صَوْتَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَيْ ذَلِكَ السَّمُرِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَا عَرُوسَاهْ قَالَتْ فَوَاللهِ إِنِّي لَعَلَى ذَلِكَ إِذْ نَادَى مُنَادٍ أَنْ أَلْقِي الْخِطَامَ فَأَلْقَيْتُهُ فَأَعْقَلَهُ اللهُ بِيَدِهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer during his illness in which he eventually died. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in front of Abu Bakr, leading the people in prayer while sitting, and Abu Bakr was leading the people in prayer and the people were behind him.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ قَاعِدًا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ

Do not give up prayer at night, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not leave it. Whenever he fell ill or lethargic, he would offer it sitting. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1307)   

أحمد:٢٦١١٤حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ أَحْمَدُ وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي قَيْسٍ وَهُوَ الصَّوَابُ مَوْلًى لِبَنِي نَصْرِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ قَالَتْ

لِي عَائِشَةُ لَا تَدَعْ قِيَامَ اللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ لَا يَدَعُهُ وَكَانَ إِذَا مَرِضَ أَوْ كَسِلَ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا

[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, Salim used to enter upon me while I am lying down, wearing my garment. But now, he enters upon me whereas he has reached puberty and grown up, and I find that affecting me. He said, 'Breastfeed him, for breastfeeding will remove what you feel in yourself.'"  

أحمد:٢٦١١٥حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الْبُرْسَانِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَتَتْ سَهْلَةُ ابْنَةُ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَقَالَتْ

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ سَالِمًا كَانَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيَّ وَأَنَا وَاضِعَةٌ ثَوْبِي ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيَّ الْآنَ بَعْدَمَا شَبَّ وَكَبِرَ فَأَجِدُ فِي نَفْسِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَأَرْضِعِيهِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يَذْهَبُ بِالَّذِي تَجِدِينَ فِي نَفْسِكِ

“Do not cut off (the thief's hand) except for something worth one quarter of a Dinar or more (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2585)   

أحمد:٢٦١١٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تُقْطَعُ الْيَدُ إِلَّا فِي رُبُعِ دِينَارٍ

I made a black cloak for the Prophet ﷺ and he put it on; but when he sweated in it and noticed the odour of the wool, he threw it away. The narrator said: I think he said: He liked good smell. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4074)   

أحمد:٢٦١١٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا صَنَعَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حُلَّةً مِنْ صُوفٍ سَوْدَاءَ فَلَبِسَهَا فَلَمَّا عَرِقَ وَجَدَ رِيحَ الصُّوفِ فَقَذَفَهَا قَالَ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ وَكَانَتْ تُعْجِبُهُ الرِّيحُ الطَّيِّبَةُ

The Messenger of Allah performed prayer wearing a wool cloak. Part of it was over him and part was over her, and she was menstruating. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 653)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى وَعَلَيْهِ مِرْطٌ مِنْ صُوفٍ عَلَيْهِ بَعْضُهُ وَعَلَيْهَا بَعْضُهُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked having any scent that could harm others coming from him.  

أحمد:٢٦١١٩قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْفَضْلِ الْأَيْلِيِّ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُوجَدَ مِنْهُ رِيحٌ يُتَأَذَّى منها

The Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution with a Mudd (of water) and bath with a Sa'. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 269)  

أحمد:٢٦١٢٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ شَيْبَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ  

ahmad:26121ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > Sulaymān b. Kathīr > al-Zuhrī > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

It is not permissible for a woman believing in Allah and the Hereafter to observe mourning on the dead for more than three (days), except in case of her husband. (Using translation from Muslim 1491)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ تُحِدُّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجٍ  

ahmad:26122ʿAbd al-Ṣamad And ʾAbū ʿĀmir > Hishām > Yaḥyá > Abū Salamah Qālasaʾalt ʿĀʾishah

He asked Aishah about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at night. She said: "He used to pray thirteen rak'ahs. He would pray eight rak'ahs then pray witr, then pray two rak'ahs sitting down. When he wanted to bow he would stand and bow, and he prayed two rak'ahs between the adhan and iqamah of subh prayer. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1781)  

أحمد:٢٦١٢٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَأَبُو عَامِرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَسَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ

عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِاللَّيْلِ؟ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ يُصَلِّي ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُصَلِّي ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ يُوتِرُ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ وَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ النِّدَاءِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ  

ahmad:26123ʿAbd al-Ṣamad And ʾAbū ʿĀmir al-Maʿná > Hishām > Yaḥyá > Abū Salamah

[Machine] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, said that he did not fast more in any year than he did in the month of Sha'ban. He would fast the entire month of Sha'ban and would say, "Take on only what you are able to handle in terms of deeds, for Allah does not tire until you tire. The deeds that were most beloved to the Prophet ﷺ were those that were done consistently, even if they were few in number. And when he would perform a prayer, he would consistently perform it."  

أحمد:٢٦١٢٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَأَبُو عَامِرٍ الْمَعْنَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ قَالَتْ

عَائِشَةُ لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَإِنَّهُ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا

"We used to garland the sheep, then the Messenger of Allah would send it, and he would not enter a state of Ihram." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2790)   

أحمد:٢٦١٢٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُنَّا نُقَلِّدُ الشَّاءَ فَنُرْسِلُ بِهَا وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَلَالٌ لَمْ يُحْرِمْ مِنْهُ

[Machine] About the virtue of fasting, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "Do you engage in it as he did? Indeed, whatever sins he committed in the past and in the future have been forgiven for him, and his actions were voluntary for him."  

أحمد:٢٦١٢٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي الرِّشْكَ عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ قَالَتْ سَأَلَتْ امْرَأَةٌ عَائِشَةَ وَأَنَا شَاهِدَةٌ

عَنْ وَصْلِ صِيَامِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ لَهَا أَتَعْمَلِينَ كَعَمَلِهِ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَكَانَ عَمَلُهُ نَافِلَةً لَهُ

[Machine] "Abdus Samad, the grandmother of Abu Bakr al-Atqi, narrated from Muadhah who said: I asked Aisha about the menstruating woman, does it stain her clothing? She replied, "I used to have my menstruation when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was alive. I had three consecutive periods and I did not wash any of my clothes. She also said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray while he had a garment on and some of it would touch me, while I was menstruating and sleeping close to him."  

أحمد:٢٦١٢٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ

عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَهِيَ جَدَّةُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْعَتَكِيِّ عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ قَالَتْ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ الْحَائِضِ يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا الدَّمُ؟ فَقَالَتْ لَقَدْ كُنْتُ أَحِيضُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثَلَاثَ حِيَضٍ جَمِيعًا لَا أَغْسِلُلِي ثَوْبًا وَقَالَتْ لَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي وَعَلَيَّ ثَوْبٌ عَلَيْهِ بَعْضُهُ وَعَلَيَّ بَعْضُهُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ نَائِمَةٌ قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ

[Machine] She said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever borrows from people a debt and is aware that Allah knows that he is keen to repay it, Allah will assist him and protect him in it. So I seek that assistance from Allah.  

أحمد:٢٦١٢٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْفَضْلِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ دَايَنَ النَّاسَ بِدَيْنٍ يَعْلَمُ اللهُ مِنْهُ أَنَّهُ حَرِيصٌ عَلَى أَدَائِهِ كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنَ اللهِ عَوْنٌ وَحَافِظٌ فَأَنَا أَلْتَمِسُ ذَلِكَ الْعَوْنَ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions and the one who has that done, and the woman who does tattoos and the one who has that done." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5251)   

أحمد:٢٦١٢٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ نَهَارٍ بِنْتُ دِفَاعٍ قَالَتْ حَدَّثَتْنِي آمِنَةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّهَا شَهِدَتْ عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَلْعَنُ الْقَاشِرَةَ وَالْمَقْشُورَةَ وَالْوَاشِمَةَ وَالْمُوتَشِمَةَ وَالْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُتَّصِلَةَ

"It is as if I can see the glistening of the perfume in the parting on the head of the Messenger of Allah when he was in Ihram.(Shah) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2697)  

أحمد:٢٦١٢٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مِغْوَلٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنِ الطِّيبِ لِلْمُحْرِمِ فَقَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي الْأَسْوَدُعَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيصِ الطِّيبِ فِي مَفْرِقِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ

[Machine] "Indeed, one of your children greets you with peace and asks you about Uthman ibn Affan, for people have been insulting him. She said, 'May Allah curse whoever curses him. By Allah, he used to sit near the Prophet ﷺ and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lean on his back. Indeed, Gabriel used to reveal the Quran to him, and he used to say to him, 'Write, O Uthaim.' And Allah would not have bestowed such a status except out of His generosity and the honor of His Messenger."  

أحمد:٢٦١٣٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَتْ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمِّي أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ وَأَرْسَلَهَا عَمُّهَا فَقَالَ

إِنَّ أَحَدَ بَنِيكِ يُقْرِئُكِ السَّلَامَ وَيَسْأَلُكِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ شَتَمُوهُ؟ فَقَالَتْ لَعَنَ اللهُ مَنْ لَعَنَهُ فَوَاللهِ لَقَدْ كَانَ قَاعِدًا عِنْدَ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمُسْنِدٌ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَيَّ وَإِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ لَيُوحِي إِلَيْهِ الْقُرْآنَ وَإِنَّهُ لَيَقُولُ لَهُ اكْتُبْ يَا عُثَيْمُ فَمَا كَانَ اللهُ لِيُنْزِلَهُ تِلْكَ الْمَنْزِلَةَ إِلَّا كَرِيمًا عَلَى اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ  

ahmad:26131ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > ʿUmar b. Abū Zāʾidah > Abīʾisḥāq > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray mostly while sitting, except for the obligatory prayers. The actions that he loved the most were those that were consistent, even if they were few.

كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جَالِسًا إِلَّا الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ الْإِنْسَانُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا  

ahmad:26132ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > Zayd / Ibn Murrah Abū al-Muʿallá > al-Ḥasan > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted killing animals and it is forbidden for a man to kill a snake, scorpion, blind dog, piebald crow, mongoose, and rat. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was bitten by a scorpion, so he ordered it to be killed, even though it is forbidden.  

أحمد:٢٦١٣٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُرَّةَ أَبُو الْمُعَلَّى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَحَلَّ مِنْ قَتْلِ الدَّوَابِّ وَالرَّجُلُ مُحْرِمٌ أَنْ يَقْتُلَ الْحَيَّةَ وَالْعَقْرَبَ وَالْكَلْبَ الْعَقُورَ وَالْغُرَابَ الْأَبْقَعَ وَالْحُدَيَّا وَالْفَأْرَةَ وَلَدَغَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَقْرَبٌ فَأَمَرَ بِقَتْلِهَا وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ  

ahmad:26133ʿAbd al-Ṣamad And ʿAffān > Ḥammād b. Salamah > ʿAlī b. Zayd > Um Muḥammad > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , often used to say, 'O Turner of hearts, make my heart steadfast upon Your religion and obedience to You.' It was said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, why do you often say, 'O Turner of hearts, make my heart steadfast upon Your religion and obedience to You'? He replied, 'Verily, it is the one who turns the hearts and hearts of people are between two fingers of the Most Merciful. When He wants, He turns the heart of a servant.' He said, 'Verily, [it is] between two fingers of the fingers of Allah, the Most High.'"  

أحمد:٢٦١٣٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أُمِّ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ وَطَاعَتِكَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ عَائِشَةُ إِنَّكَ تُكْثِرُ أَنْ تَقُولَ يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ وَطَاعَتِكَ قَالَ وَمَا يُؤْمِنِّي وَإِنَّمَا قُلُوبُ الْعِبَادِ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَّهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُقَلِّبَ قَلْبَ عَبْدٍ قَلَّبَهُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ اللهِ ﷻ  

Sacrificing one extra sheep for every five

ahmad:26134ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > Ḥammād > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUthmān > Yūsuf b. Māhak > Ḥafṣah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > ʿĀʾishah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to offer a sheep for every five sheep as a charitable offering, and he commanded us to do ʿAqīqah with one sheep for a girl and two sheep for a boy.

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْفَرَعِ مِنْ كُلِّ خَمْسِ شِيَاهٍ شَاةٌ وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَعُقَّ عَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةً وَعَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَيْنِ  

ahmad:26135ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > Ḥammād > Thābit > al-Qāsim b. Muḥammad > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, Allah nurtures for one of you dates and morsels of food just as one of you nurtures his foal or young camel until it becomes similar to one of them.'"  

أحمد:٢٦١٣٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ لَيُرَبِّي لِأَحَدِكُمُ التَّمْرَةَ وَاللُّقْمَةَ كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ فَلُوَّهُ أَوْ فَصِيلَهُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ مِثْلَأُحُدٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed and he had a garment on, some parts of which were on me.  

أحمد:٢٦١٣٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَصِينٍ عَنْأَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ بَعْضُهُ عَلَيَّ  

ahmad:26137ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Mahdī > Zāʾidah > Mūsá b. Abū ʿĀʾishah > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh

"I entered upon Aisha and said: 'Will you not tell me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' She said: 'When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, became seriously ill, he said: "Have the people prayed?" We said: "No, they are waiting for you, 0 Messenger of Allah ﷺ" He said: "Put some water in a tub for me." We did that and he performed Ghusl, then he tried to get up but he fainted. Then he came to us and said: "Have the people prayed?" We said: "No, they are waiting for you, 0 Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He said: "Put some water in a tub for me." We did that and he performed Ghusl, then he tried to get up but he fainted. Then for the third time he said the same thing. She said: The people were in the Masjid, waiting for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to lead the prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent word to Abu Bakr, telling him to lead the people in prayer, so the messenger came to him and said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is telling you to lead the people in prayer." Abu Bakr was a tenderhearted man, he said: "0 'Umar. lead the in prayer." But ('Umar) said: "You have more right to that." So Abu Bakr led them in prayer during those days. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ felt a little better, he came with the help of two men, one of whom was Al-'Abbas, to pray Zuhr. When Abu Bakr saw him, he wanted to step back, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured to him not to step back. He told them (the two men) to seat him beside Abu Bakr, and Abu Bakr started to pray standing. The people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying sitting."' "I ('Ubaidullah) entered upon Ibn Abbas and said 'Shall I not tell you what Aisha narrated to me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'Yes.' So I told him and he did not deny any of it, but he said: 'Did she tell you the name of the man who was with Al-'Abbas?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'That was Ali, may Allah honor his face."' أحمد:٢٦١٣٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ أَلَا تُحَدِّثِينِي عَنْ مَرَضِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَتْ بَلَى ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَصَلَّى النَّاسُ؟ فَقُلْنَا لَا هُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ ضَعُوا لِي مَاءً فِي الْمِخْضَبِ فَفَعَلْنَا فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ لِيَنُوءَ فَأُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَفَاقَ فَقَالَ أَصَلَّى النَّاسُ؟ فَقُلْنَا لَا هُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ ضَعُوا لِي مَاءً فِي الْمِخْضَبِ فَفَعَلْنَا فَاغْتَسَلَ فَذَهَبَ لِيَنُوءَ فَأُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَفَاقَ فَقَالَ أَصَلَّى النَّاسُ؟ فَقُلْنَا لَا هُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَتْ وَالنَّاسُ عُكُوفٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَنْتَظِرُونَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لِصَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَجُلًا رَقِيقًا فَقَالَ يَا عُمَرُ صَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ أَحَقُّبِذَلِكَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ تِلْكَ الْأَيَّامَ ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَجَدَ خِفَّةً فَخَرَجَ بَيْنَ رَجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا الْعَبَّاسُ لِصَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ذَهَبَ لِيَتَأَخَّرَ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ لَا تَتَأَخَّرَ وَأَمَرَهُمَا فَأَجْلَسَاهُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَجَعَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي قَائِمًا وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ أَلَا أَعْرِضُ عَلَيْكَ مَا حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ عَنْ مَرَضِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ هَاتِ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ فَمَا أَنْكَرَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَسَمَّتْ لَكَ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي كَانَ مَعَ الْعَبَّاسِ؟ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ هُوَ عَلِيٌّ  

ahmad:26138ʿAbd al-Ṣamad And Muʿāwyah b. ʿAmr > Zāʾidahuḥaddathanā Mūsá b. Abū ʿĀʾishah > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] I entered upon Aisha and said to her, "Should you not inform me about the illness of the Messenger of Allah?" She said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah was heavily burdened." So she narrated the hadith and said, "Then the Messenger of Allah motioned towards him that he should not delay." Muawiyah said, "He can delay." He said to both of them, "Let me sit next to him." So they made him sit next to him. She said, "Then Abu Bakr began to pray while the Messenger of Allah was standing in prayer, and the people were praying following the prayer of Abu Bakr and the Prophet was sitting."  

أحمد:٢٦١٣٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَمُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُحَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ لَهَا أَلَا تُحَدِّثِينِي عَنْ مَرَضِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ بَلَى ثَقُلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَقَالَ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ لَا تَأَخَّرَ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ يَتَأَخَّرُ وَقَالَ لَهُمَا أَجْلِسَانِي إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَأَجْلَسَاهُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ قَالَتْ فَجَعَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ بِصَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَالنَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ بِصَلَاةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَاعِدٌ

[Machine] She said, "I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the plague, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed me that it was a punishment sent by Allah to whomever He wills. And He made it a mercy for the believers. So if a person stays in his house patiently, hoping for reward, knowing that nothing will afflict him except what Allah has written for him, then he will have the reward of a martyr."  

أحمد:٢٦١٣٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الطَّاعُونِ؟ فَأَخْبَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابًا يَبْعَثُهُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَاءُ فَجَعَلَهُ رَحْمَةً لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَلَيْسَ مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَقَعُ الطَّاعُونُ فَيَمْكُثُ فِي بَيْتِهِ صَابِرًا مُحْتَسِبًا يَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ لَا يُصِيبُهُ إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللهُ لَهُ إِلَّا كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ الشَّهِيدِ  

ahmad:26140ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > al-Muthanná / Ibn Saʿīd > Qatādah > ʿUrwah b. al-Zubayr > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , used to perform ablution before praying when he wanted to cleanse himself from a state of impurity. He would then pour water onto his head three times, running his fingers through the roots of his hair.  

أحمد:٢٦١٤٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ تَوَضَّأَ لِلصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ صَبَّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ يُخَلِّلُ بِأَصَابِعِهِ أُصُولَ الشَّعْرِ  

ahmad:26141ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > Ḥarb > Yaḥyá > Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Anṣārī > ʿAmrah > ʿĀʾishah Ḥaddathathā

"The hand of the thief is to be cut off for a quarter of a Dinar, or more." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4917)   

أحمد:٢٦١٤١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ أَنَّ عَمْرَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَدَّثَتْهَا

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ تُقْطَعُ الْيَدُ فِي رُبُعِ دِينَارٍ  

ahmad:26142ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > Ḥarb > Yaḥyá > ʿImrān b. Ḥiṭṭān > ʿĀʾishah > And ʾAbū ʿĀmir > Hishām > Yaḥyá > ʿImrān b. Ḥiṭṭān > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not leave any garment in his house that had embroidery on it except that he tore it. Abdullah As-Samad said in his narration, "And indeed, he used to mix with us silk garments."  

أحمد:٢٦١٤٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حِطَّانَ أَنَّ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ قَالَ وَأَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حِطَّانَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَدَعُ فِي بَيْتِهِ ثَوْبًا فِيهِ تَصْلِيبٌ إِلَّا نَقَضَهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ وَقَدْ كَانَ خَالَطَ ثِيَابَنَا الْحَرِيرُ  

ahmad:26143ʿAbd al-Ṣamad > Ḥarb > Yaḥyá > Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm > Abū Salamah

Abu Salama, abstain from getting this land, for Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who usurps even a span of land would be made to wear around his neck seven earths. (Using translation from Muslim 1612a)  

أحمد:٢٦١٤٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَهُ

وَكَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِهِ خُصُومَةٌ فِي أَرْضٍ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ يَا أَبَا سَلَمَةَاجْتَنِبِ الْأَرْضَ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ ظَلَمَ قِيدَ شِبْرٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ

[Machine] I heard Abu Sa'id Al-Raqashi say, "I asked Aisha about the wine made from grapes, so she brought me a jar from behind the curtain and said, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked what is made in these.'"

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الرَّقَاشِيَّ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ فَأَخْرَجَتْ إِلَيَّ جَرَّةً مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحِجَابِ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ مَا يُصْنَعُ فِي هَذِهِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to kiss me while he was fasting.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُنِي وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ  

ahmad:26146ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿAmr > Ibn Abū Dhiʾb > al-Ḥārith b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman And al-Mundhir b. Abū al-Mundhir > Abū Salamah > ʿĀʾishah

“The Prophet looked at the moon and he said: ‘O Aishah! Do you seek refuge with Allah from the evil of this? For indeed this is Al-Ghasiqu Idha Waqab (The darkened one as it darkens).’” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3366)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَظَرَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ اسْتَعِيذِي بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذَا فَإِنَّ هَذَا الْغَاسِقُ إِذَا وَقَبَ  

ahmad:26147ʿAbd al-Malik > Khārijah b. ʿAbdullāh from And Lad Zayd b. Thābit > Abū al-Rijāl > Ummih ʿAmrah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "No one is prevented from drawing water from a well."  

أحمد:٢٦١٤٧حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَارِجَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ مِنْ وَلَدِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يُمْنَعُ نَقْعُ مَاءٍ فِي بِئْرٍ  

ahmad:26148ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿAmr > Zuhayr > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Bakr > Abīhiʿan ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ used to go out to Al-Baqi and pray for them. Aisha asked him about that, and he said, "I have been commanded to pray for them."  

أحمد:٢٦١٤٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ فَيَدْعُو لَهُمْ فَسَأَلَتْهُ عَائِشَةُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَدْعُوَ لَهُمْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Allah's curse to be on the Jews, they made the graves of their Prophets mosques. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3227)   

أحمد:٢٦١٤٩حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَعَنَ اللهُ أَقْوَامًا اتَّخَذُوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ  

ahmad:26150Ḥammād b. Masʿadah > ʿAbdullāh b. Aḥmad Ḥaddathanālqawārīrī > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Ashʿath > al-Ḥasan > Saʿd b. Hishām > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet (PBUH) forbade self-inflicted harm. [Abdullah] Narrated to me by my father, he said, "I have never heard it from Yahya."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ التَّبَتُّلِ [قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ] فَحَدَّثَنِيهِ أَبِي فَقَالَ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ يَحْيَى  

ahmad:26151ʿAbdullāh b. Bakr al-Sahmī > Ḥātim b. Abū Ṣaghīrah > Abū Qazaʿah > ʿAbd al-Malik Baynamā > Yaṭūf Bi-al-Bayt Idh > Qātal Allāh Ibn al-Zubayr Ḥayth Yakdhib > Samiʿtuhā And Hī

[Machine] Abdul Malik, while he was performing tawaf (circumambulation) around the Kaaba, said, "May Allah curse the son of Zubayr, as he lies about the mother of the believers, claiming that she said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, 'O Aisha, if it were not for two incidents among your people involving disbelief, I would have demolished the Kaaba.''" My father said, An Ansari said, 'I would have reconstructed the Kaaba, adding more stones to it, for indeed your people have diminished its construction.' Al Harith bin Abdullah bin Abi Rabiah said, 'Don't say that, O Amir al-Mu'minin (Commander of the Believers), for I have heard the mother of the believers narrate this.' He (Abdul Malik) said, 'If I had heard this before I demolished it, I would have left it standing on the construction of Ibn Zubayr.'"  

أحمد:٢٦١٥١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ أَبِي صَغِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي قَزَعَةَ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ إِذْ قَالَ قَاتَلَ اللهُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ حَيْثُ يَكْذِبُ عَلَى أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُهَا وَهِيَ تَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ لَوْلَا حِدْثَانُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ لَنَقَبْتُ الْبَيْتَ قَالَ أَبِي قَالَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ لَنَقَضْتُ الْبَيْتَ حَتَّى أَزِيدَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحِجْرِ فَإِنَّ قَوْمَكِ قَصَّرُوا عَنِ الْبِنَاءِ فَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ لَا تَقُلْ هَذَا يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَأَنَا سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ تُحَدِّثُ هَذَا فَقَالَ لَوْ كُنْتُ سَمِعْتُ هَذَا قَبْلَ أَنْ أَهْدِمَهُ لَتَرَكْتُهُ عَلَى بِنَاءِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ  

ahmad:26152Muḥammad b. Bakr al-Bursānī > Yaḥyá b. Qays > ʿAṭāʾ > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , did not enter upon her (Aisha) after the Asr prayer except that he would pray two rak'ahs beside her.  

أحمد:٢٦١٥٢حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ الْبُرْسَانِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ قَيْسٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهَا بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ إِلَّا رَكَعَ عِنْدَهَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ  

ahmad:26153Yaḥyá b. Ādam > Ḥasan b. ʿAyyāsh Alays Dhukir

[Machine] "Narrated by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , that he used to wake up in the state of janabah (ritually impure due to sexual activity) and then he would perform ghusl (a full body ritual purification) and fast. Sufyan said Hammad narrated to me from Ibrahim, from Al-Aswad, from Aisha."  

أحمد:٢٦١٥٣حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ أَلَيْسَ ذُكِرَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصْبِحُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ فَيَغْتَسِلُ وَيَصُومُ فَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنِيهِ حَمَّادٌ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ  

ahmad:26154Yaḥyá b. Ādam > Isrāʾīl > Manṣūr > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions set out, only intending to perform Hajj. When he circumambulated the Kaaba and commanded his companions to do the same, they performed the tawaf as he ordered. I, however, had my menstrual period, so I stood at all the designated points except for the circumambulation of the Kaaba. I said to myself, "Will they return with both Umrah and Hajj, while I will only perform Hajj?" She added, "So I asked my brother to accompany me and I met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was feeling upset due to my menstruation, and I was wrapped in mourning clothes."  

أحمد:٢٦١٥٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابُهُ لَا يَرَوْنَ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ الْحَجُّ فَلَمَّا طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ فَطَافُوا أَمَرَهُمْ فَحَلُّوا قَالَتْ وَكُنْتُ قَدْ حِضْتُ فَوَقَفْتُ الْمَوَاقِفَ كُلَّهَا إِلَّا الطَّوَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ فَقُلْتُ يَرْجِعُونَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ وَأَرْجِعُ بِحَجَّةٍ؟ قَالَتْ فَأَرْسَلَ مَعِي أَخِي فَلَقِيتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مُصْعِدًا مُدْلِجًا عَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَنَا مُدْلِجَةٌ عَلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ  

ahmad:26155Yaḥyá b. Ādam > Srāʾīl > Manṣūr > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] I used to comb the necklaces as a gift for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , then he would stay. She said, "And he used to give gifts of sheep."  

أحمد:٢٦١٥٥حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُنْتُ أَفْتِلُ الْقَلَائِدَ لِهَدْيِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ يَمْكُثُ قَالَتْ وَكَانَ يُهْدِي الْغَنَمَ  

ahmad:26156Yaḥyá b. Ādam > Isrāʾīl > Abīʾisḥāq > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sleep during the first part of the night and stay awake during the latter part.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1365)   

أحمد:٢٦١٥٦حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِيإِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَنَامُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ وَيُحْيِي آخِرَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used not to perform Wudu' after Ghusl." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 252)  

أحمد:٢٦١٥٧حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَتَوَضَّأُ بَعْدَ الْغُسْلِ  

ahmad:26158Yaḥyá b. Ādam > ʿAmmār b. Ruzayq > Abū Isḥāq > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

'A'isha observed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe prayer in the night and the last of his (night) prayer was Witr. (Using translation from Muslim 740)  

أحمد:٢٦١٥٨حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ الْوَتْرُ  

ahmad:26159Yaḥyá b. Ādam > Sufyān > al-Aʿmash > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray nine rak'ahs at night." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1725)  

أحمد:٢٦١٥٩حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تِسْعَ رَكَعَاتٍ  

ahmad:26160Yaḥyá b. Ādam > Mufaḍḍal > Manṣūr > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswadiʿan ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "We went out with the intention of performing Hajj, but I did not complete the Tawaf (circumambulation). So I said, 'Should I return while they complete both 'Umrah and Hajj, and then I will perform Hajj?' Safiyyah said, 'I do not see anything holding me back except for the fact that I will detain you.' Aqra' said, 'My sacrifice, my head will be shaved.' He then asked her, 'Did you perform the Tawaf on the day of Nahr?' She replied, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then follow his order and depart.'"  

أحمد:٢٦١٦٠حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا مُفَضَّلٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

خَرَجْنَا نُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ فَلَمْ أَطُفْ فَقُلْتُ يَرْجِعُونَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ وَأَرْجِعُ بِحَجَّةٍ؟ قَالَتْ صَفِيَّةُ مَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا حَابِسَتَكُمْ قَالَ عَقْرَى حَلْقَى قَالَ طُفْتِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ فَأَمَرَهَا فَنَفَرَتْ
