[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer during his illness in which he eventually died. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in front of Abu Bakr, leading the people in prayer while sitting, and Abu Bakr was leading the people in prayer and the people were behind him.  

أحمد:٢٦١١٣ – حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ يَعْنِي أَبَا دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيَّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ قَاعِدًا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ
