[Machine] Ubaidullah ibn Umayr heard saying, "Choose modesty before Allah over modesty towards people."
سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ يَقُولُ «آثِرُوا الْحَيَاءَ مِنَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى عَلَى الْحَيَاءِ مِنَ النَّاسِ»
[Machine] Ubaidullah ibn Umayr heard saying, "Choose modesty before Allah over modesty towards people."
سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ يَقُولُ «آثِرُوا الْحَيَاءَ مِنَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى عَلَى الْحَيَاءِ مِنَ النَّاسِ»
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When Allah wills good for a person, He causes him to understand the religion.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 220)
«مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ وَيُلْهِمْهُ رُشْدَهُ»
[Machine] The diligent one now is nothing but a player in the past.
«مَا الْمُجْتَهِدُ الْآنَ إِلَّا كَاللَّاعِبِ فِيمَا مَضَى»
[Machine] "To stay up and engage in worship, increase in saying ‘SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi’ (Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him). By the One in whose hand is my soul, this is more beloved to Allah than a mountain of gold and silver.”
Abdullah narrated to us, my father narrated to me, Waki' narrated to us from Sufyan, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Ubayd ibn Umayr, who said: "Allah will continue to have a need from the servant as long as the servant has a need for Him."
أَنْ تُسَاهِرُوهُ فَاسْتَكْثِرُوا مِنْ قَوْلِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ؛ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ هَذَا أَوْجَهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ جَبَلَيْ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ»
حَدَّثَنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أبِي، حَدَّثَنا وكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيانَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أبِي ثابِتٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قالَ: «لا يَزالُ لِلَّهِ ﷿ فِي العَبْدِ حاجَةٌ ما كانَتْ لِلْعَبْدِ إلَيْهِ حاجَةٌ»
[Machine] He used to say when winter came, "O people of the Quran, the nights have lengthened for your prayers and the days have shortened for your fasts, so make the most of it. If the night tires you out, strive against it, and if you fear the enemy, fight against him, and if you are stingy with your wealth, spend it. So, increase in the remembrance of Allah."
كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا جَاءَ الشِّتَاءُ «يَا أَهْلَ الْقُرْآنِ قَدْ طَالَ اللَّيْلُ لِصَلَاتِكُمْ وَقَصُرَ النَّهَارُ لِصَوْمِكُمْ فَاعْمَلُوا إِنْ أَعْيَاكُمُ اللَّيْلُ أَنْ تُكَابِدُوهُ وَخِفْتُمُ الْعَدُوَّ أَنْ تُجَاهِدُوهُ وَبَخِلْتُمْ بِالْمَالِ أَنْ تُنْفِقُوهُ فَأَكْثِرُوا مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ﷻ»
[Machine] "Indeed, Allah dislikes the reader when he is pretentious and seeks material gain."
«إِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ يُبْغِضُ الْقَارِئَ إِذَا كَانَ لَبَّاسًا رَكَّابًا وَلَّاجًا خَرَّاجًا»
[Machine] A man who spent the equivalent of a mountain in obedience to Allah was not one of the wasteful.
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَنْفَقَ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (may ﷺ ) heard a man saying, "May Allah bless us in death." So, the Messenger of Allah (may ﷺ ) said, "And in life as well."
سَمِعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَنَا فِي الْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «وَفَى الْحَيَاةِ»
[Machine] Where are you from Al-Mimhah? I mean from Al-Istighfar.
«أَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الْمِمْحَاةِ؟ يَعْنِي مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ»
[Machine] "Do not love two men for the sake of Allah unless the one you love more is the one who loves his companion more."
«مَا تَحَابَّ رَجُلَانِ فِي اللَّهِ ﷻ إِلَّا كَانَ أَفْضَلُهُمَا أَشَدَّهُمَا حُبًّا لِصَاحِبِهِ»
[Machine] "If any of you has a need regarding worldly matters, then he should seek forgiveness. And if any of you has a need regarding matters of the Hereafter, then he should have hope."
«إِذَا كَانَ لِأَحَدِكُمْ حَاجَةٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ الدُّنْيَا فَعَلَيْهِ بِالتَّوْبَةِ فَإِذَا كَانَ لِأَحَدِكُمْ حَاجَةٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْآخِرَةِ فَعَلَيْهِ بِالرِّجَاءِ»
أَنْ لَا يَشُوبَهُ شَيْءٌ كَحُبِّي مُجَمِّعًا التَّيْمِيَّ
[Machine] "The mosques are gathering places for noble people."
«الْمَسَاجِدُ مَجَالِسُ الْكِرَامِ»
[Machine] "Whoever makes their worries one worry, Allah will suffice him with his worries. And whoever has a worry in every valley, Allah will not pay attention to which one is destroyed."
«مَنْ جَعَلَ هُمُومَهُ هَمًّا وَاحِدًا كَفَاهُ اللَّهُ هُمُومَهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ لَهُ فِي كُلِّ وَادٍ هَمٌّ لَمْ يُبَالِ اللَّهُ فِي أَيِّهَا هَلَكَ»
[Machine] "Whoever learns how to articulate (or express) himself well, in order to win the hearts of people, will not miss the scent of paradise."
«مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ صَرْفَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيَسْتَكْفِئَ بِهِ قُلُوبَ النَّاسِ لَمْ يَرُحْ رَائِحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ»
[Machine] Ibrahim ibn Adham said, "Do not let anything come between you and Allah, and consider the blessings from Him as a means of gratitude to you."
قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَدْهَمَ «لَا تَجْعَلَنَّ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ اللَّهِ مُنْعِمًا واعْدُدِ النِّعَمَ مِنْهُمْ عَلَيْكَ مَغْرَمًا»
[Machine] "God does not grant belief to those who love fame."
«لَمْ يُصَدِّقِ اللَّهَ ﷻ مَنْ أَحَبَّ الشُّهْرَةَ»
[Machine] "To his son, O my son, I advise you with a will, so preserve it. For if you do not preserve it from me, it is likely that you will not preserve it from others. Fear Allah, and if you can be better than yourself, yesterday and tomorrow will be better than you today. Do it and beware of greed, for it is poverty present. And upon you is to be content, for you do not despair of anything but Allah enriches you from it. And beware of seeking excuses from it, for it is not excusable for anything good. And if a mistake is made by a son of Adam, thank Allah that you are not he. And when you stand for your prayer, pray the farewell prayer, and you see that you will never pray after it."
لِابْنِهِ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي مُوصِيكَ بِوَصِيَّةٍ فَاحْفَظْهَا فَإِنَّكَ إِلَّا تَحْفَظْهَا مِنِّي خَلِيقٌ أَنْ لَا تَحْفَظَهَا مِنْ غَيْرِي اتَّقِ اللَّهَ ﷻ وَإِنْ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَكُونَ خَيْرًا مِنْكَ أَمْسِ وَغَدًا خَيْرًا مِنْكَ الْيَوْمَ فَافْعَلْ وَإِيَّاكَ وَالطَّمَعَ فَإِنَّهُ فَقْرٌ حَاضِرٌ وَعَلَيْكَ بِالْإِيَاسِ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تَيْأَسْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَغْنَاكَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَإِيَّاكَ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ يُعْتَذَرُ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُعْتَذَرُ مِنْ خَيْرٍ وَإِذَا عَثَرَ عَاثِرٌ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ فَاحْمَدِ اللَّهَ أَنْ لَا تَكُونَهُ فَإِذَا قُمْتَ إِلَى صَلَاتِكَ فَصَلِّ صَلَاةَ الْمُوَدِّعِ وَأَنْتَ تَرَى أَنَّكَ لَا تُصَلِّي بَعْدَهَا أَبَدًا
[Machine] "We have come to purchase with our wealth, not with our religion."
«إِنَّمَا جِئْنَا لَنَشْتَرِيَ بِدَرَاهِمِنَا لَيْسَ بِدِينِنَا»
[Machine] "The submitters are those who do not commit injustice, and when they are wronged, they do not seek revenge."
«الْمُخْبِتُونَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَظْلِمُونَ وَإِذَا ظُلِمُوا لَمْ يَنْتَصِرُوا»
«الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْذُونَ الذَّرَّ»
[Machine] Every human being has an angel that takes hold of their nape. If they are arrogant, Allah and an angel put them down, but if they are humble, Allah and an angel elevate them.
«مَا مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا وَمَلَكٌ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ فَإِنْ تَكَبَّرَ وَضَعَهُ اللَّهُ ﷻ وَمَلَكٌ آخِذٌ بِحَكَمَتِهِ فَإِنْ تَوَاضَعَ رَفَعَهُ»
[Machine] On the authority of Mujahid regarding His saying, "And ask Allah of His bounty" [Quran 4:32], he said, "The purpose is not worldly."
عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷻ {وَاسْأَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ} [النساء 32] قَالَ «لَيْسَ الْغَرَضُ الدُّنْيَا»
[Machine] As long as the man's heart remembers Allah, he is in a state of prayer, even if he is in the marketplace. And if he moves his lips, it is even greater.
«مَا دَامَ قَلْبُ الرَّجُلِ يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ وَإِنْ كَانَ فِي السُّوقِ وَإِنْ حَرَّكَ شَفَتَيْهِ فَهُوَ أَعْظَمُ»
[Machine] Whoever has much wealth has much labor, and whoever has much labor, there are many demons, and whoever has many demons, his reckoning becomes severe.
«مَنْ كَثُرَ مَالُهُ كَثُرَ تَعَبُهُ وَمَنْ كَثُرَ تَعَبُهُ كَثُرَتْ شَيَاطِينُهُ وَمَنْ كَثُرَتْ شَيَاطِينُهُ اشْتَدَّ حِسَابُهُ»
[Machine] In His saying, "Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account." [Az-Zumar 10] He said, "by rooms"
فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷻ {إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى الصَّابِرُونَ أَجْرَهُمْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ} [الزمر 10] قَالَ «غُرَفًا»
[Machine] We used to raid with Ata' al-Khurasani, and he used to pray during the night. When approximately one-third or half of the night passed, he would call out from his tent, and we could hear him saying, "O Abdur Rahman bin Yazid! O Yazid bin Yazid! O Hisham bin al-Ghaz! O so and so bin so and so! Wake up, perform ablution, and pray this night and fast this day. It is easier than drinking the most refreshing drink and cutting through iron." Then he would repeat "waw" (i.e., the letter 'w' in Arabic) before focusing on his prayer.
كُنَّا نُغَازِي مَعَ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ وَكَانَ يُحْيِي اللَّيْلَ صَلَاةً فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثُلُثُهُ أَوْ نِصْفُهُ نَادَى وَهُوَ فِي فُسْطَاطِهِ نِدَاءً يُسْمِعُنَا يَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ وَيَا يَزِيدُ بْنَ يَزِيدَ يَا هِشَامُ بْنَ الْغَازِ وَيَا فُلَانُ بْنَ فُلَانٍ قُومُوا فَتَوَضَّؤُا وَصَلُّوا قِيَامُ هَذَا اللَّيْلِ وَصِيَامُ هَذَا النَّهَارِ أَيْسَرُ مِنْ شَرَابِ الصَّدِيدِ ومُقَطَّعَاتِ الْحَدِيدِ الْوَحَاءَ ثُمَّ الْوَحَاءَ ثُمَّ يُقْبِلُ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِ
[Machine] "By Allah, that indeed causes me distress when I am with my family, for it prevents me from what I desire. And indeed, food is placed in front of me, but it is taken away from me, causing me to cry, as well as my wife and children, who do not know the reason for our crying. Perhaps this annoys my wife, and she says, 'Alas for her! What has she been singled out for in terms of prolonged sorrow with you in this worldly life? There is no comfort for me with you, not even for a moment.'"
وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَيَعْرِضُ لِي حِينَ أَسْكُنُ إِلَى أَهْلِي فَيَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ مَا أُرِيدُ وَإِنَّهُ لَيُوضَعُ الطَّعَامُ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ فَيَعْرِضُ لِي فَيَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ أَكْلِهِ حَتَّى تَبْكِي امْرَأَتِي وَيَبْكِي صِبْيَانُنَا مَا يَدْرُونَ مَا أَبْكَانَا وَرُبَّمَا أَضْجَرَ ذَلِكَ امْرَأَتِي فَتَقُولُ يَا وَيْحَهَا مَا خُصَّتْ بِهِ مِنْ طُولِ الْحُزْنِ مَعَكَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مَا تَقِرُّ لِي مَعَكَ عَيْنٌ
[Machine] To raise his voice with takbeer even with the children, and he used to say, "Remember Allah until the ignorant see that you are crazy."
أَنْ يَرْفَعَ صَوْتَهُ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ حَتَّى مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ «اذْكُرْ اللَّهَ حَتَّى يَرَى الْجَاهِلُ أَنَّكَ مَجْنُونٌ»
[Machine] That Abu Muslim Al-Khawlani passed by the Tigris River while it was throwing wood from its flow, so he walked on the water. Then he turned to his companions and said, "Did you lose anything from your belongings so that you pray to Allah?"
أَنَّ أَبَا مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيَّ مَرَّ بِدِجْلَةَ وَهِيَ تَرْمِي بِالْخَشَبِ مِنْ مَدِّهَا فَمَشَى عَلَى الْمَاءِ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ تَفْقِدُونَ مِنْ مَتَاعِكُمْ شَيْئًا فَتَدْعُوا اللَّهَ ﷻ»
[Machine] I heard Salamah ibn Muskin saying, "If I were given the same amount of gold as this shawl, I wouldn't sell a Quran."
سَمِعْتُ سَلَّامَ بْنَ مِسْكِينٍ يَقُولُ «لَوْ أُعْطِيتُ مِثْلَ هَذِهِ السَّارِيَةِ ذَهَبًا مَا بِعْتُ مُصْحَفًا»
[Machine] That Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib did not miss a prayer in congregation for forty years and he did not look at their backs nor did they meet him outside of the mosque.
أَنَّ سَعْيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ لَمْ تَفُتْهُ صَلَاةٌ فِي جَمعٍ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً وَلَمْ يَنْظُرْ فِي أَقْفِيَتِهِمْ وَلَمْ يَلْقَوْهُ خَارِجَيْنِ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ
[Machine] I heard Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib say, "I have not missed a call to prayer (adhan) in the mosque for the past thirty years."
سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ يَقُولُ «مَا أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ مُنْذُ ثَلَاثِينَ سَنَةً إِلَّا وَأَنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ»
[Machine] "I see that the soul of Sa'id bin al-Musayyib considered itself lighter in the sight of Allah than the wing of a fly."
«أَرَى نَفْسَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ كَانَتْ أَهْوَنَ عَلَيْهِ فِي ذَاتِ اللَّهِ مِنْ نَفْسِ ذُبَابَةٍ»
[Machine] They whipped him a hundred times and dressed him in a robe.
فَجَلَدُوهُ مِائَةً وَأَلْبَسُوهُ الْمُسُوحَ
[Machine] My father means its outskirts. If it is good, it is in the sacred precinct, and if it is bad, it is in the permissible area. Indeed, it has reached me that the people of Mecca or the residents of Mecca will not be destroyed until the sacred precinct is in their possession like the permissible area.
أَبِي يَعْنِي أَطْرَافَهَا فَإِنْ كَانَتْ حَسَنَةً كَانَتْ فِي الْحَرَمِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ سَيِّئَةً كَانَتْ فِي الْحِلِّ فَإِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ أَوْ سَاكِنَ مَكَّةَ لَنْ يَهْلِكُوا حَتَّى يَكُونَ الْحَرَمُ عِنْدَهُمْ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْحِلِّ»
[Machine] I did not find anyone in the mosque except for a sheikh that I pointed to, but he did not stand up. Then I said, "Indeed, the Commander of the Believers asked." He said, "Look, do you see anyone from the new Muslims?" He replied, "Indeed, I am not from the new Muslims of the Commander of the Believers." Abdul-Malik said, "That is Saeed bin al-Musayyib, leave him."
مَا وَجَدْتُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ إِلَّا شَيْخًا أَشَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَقُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْتُ إِنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَأَلَ قَالَ انْظُرْ هَلْ تَرَى أَحَدًا مِنْ حُدَّاثِي قَالَ فَإِنِّي لَسْتُ مِنْ حُدَّاثِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ «ذَاكَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ دَعْهُ»
[Machine] I heard Sa'eed bin Al-Musayyib saying, "I have performed forty pilgrimages."
سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ يَقُولُ «لَقَدْ حَجَجْتُ أَرْبَعِينَ حَجَّةً»
[Machine] "O Abu Dharr, whoever asks Allah for His satisfaction has asked for something great."
يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ «مَنْ سَأَلَ اللَّهَ ﷻ رِضَاهُ فَقَدْ سَأَلَهُ أَمْرًا عَظِيمًا»
[Machine] "Whoever wishes for the supplication of answered prayers when they prostrate, let them raise their hands and then call upon [Allah]."
مَنْ أَرادَ دُعَاءَ الْإِجَابَةِ إِذَا سَجَدَ قَلَبَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ دَعَا»
[Machine] Indeed, in the earth, Allah possesses vessels, and the most beloved vessels to Allah are those that are pure and clean. The vessels of Allah on the earth are the hearts of His righteous servants.
«إِنَّ لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِي الْأَرْضِ آنِيَةٌ وَأَحَبُّ آنِيَةِ اللَّهِ إِلَيْهِ مَا رَقَّ مِنْهَا وَصَفَا وَآنِيَةُ اللَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ قُلُوبُ عِبَادِهِ الصَّالِحِينَ»
[Machine] From Khalid ibn Ma'dan, "If the door of goodness is opened for one of you, then hasten towards it, for he does not know when it will be closed upon him."
عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ «إِذَا فُتِحَ لِأَحَدِكُمْ بَابُ الْخَيْرِ فَلْيُسْرِعْ إِلَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي مَتَى يُغْلَقُ عَنْهُ»
[Machine] "I have noticed that people are striving for righteous deeds, such as prayer, giving alms, doing good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong, while you today are seeking opinions."
«أَدْرَكْتُ النَّاسَ يَتَحَاثُّونَ عَلَى الْأَعْمَالِ الصَّالِحَةِ الصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ وَفِعْلِ الْخَيْرِ وَالْأَمْرِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْيِ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَأَنْتُمُ الْيَوْمَ تَحَاثُّونَ عَلَى الرَّأْيِ»
[Machine] I heard Bilal ibn Saad saying, "Don't focus on the smallness of the sin, but rather look at whom you have disobeyed."
سَمِعْتُ بِلَالَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ يَقُولُ «لَا تَنْظُرُ إِلَى صِغَرِ الْخَطِيئَةِ وَلَكِنْ انْظُرْ مَنْ عَصَيْتَ»
[Machine] I heard Bilal ibn Sa'eed saying, "Indeed, mentioning you (referring to Allah) is your good deeds, and forgetting you is your sins concealed."
سَمِعْتُ بِلَالَ بْنَ سَعِيدٍ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ ذِكْرَكَ حَسَنَاتِكَ وَنِسْيَانَكَ سَيِّئَاتِكَ غِرَّةٌ»
[Machine] "That Allah despises our attachment to worldly matters and yet we still have desires for it."
أَنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ يُزَهِّدُنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا ونَرْغَبُ فِيهَا»
[Machine] "The Muslim is the mirror of his brother, so would you hide anything from me?"
أَنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ مَرْآةُ أَخِيهِ فَهَلْ تَسْتَرِيبُ مِنْ أَمْرِي شَيْئًا»
[Machine] I heard Bilal ibn Saad say, "Do not be a friend of Allah publicly while being an enemy to Him in secret."
سَمِعْتُ بِلَالَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ يَقُولُ «لَا تَكُنْ وَلِيَ اللَّهِ فِي الْعَلَانِيَةِ وَعَدُوَّهُ فِي السِّرِّ»
[Machine] "That Allah ﷻ makes us indifferent towards the world while we desire it, so your ascetic is the one who desires it, your knowledgeable is ignorant, and your worshipper falls short."
أَنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ يُزَهِّدُنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَنَحْنُ نَرْغَبُ فِيهَا فَزَاهِدُكُمْ رَاغِبٌ وَعَالِمُكُمْ جَاهِلٌ وعَابِدُكُمْ مُقَصِّرٌ»
[Machine] I heard Bilal ibn Saad saying, "A brother you meet who reminds you of your blessings from Allah is better for you than a brother who, every time you meet him, puts a Dinar in your pocket."
سَمِعْتُ بِلَالَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ يَقُولُ «أَخٌ لَكَ لَقِيَكَ ذَكَّرَكَ حَظَّكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَخٍ كُلَّمَا لَقِيَكَ وَضَعَ فِي فِيكَ دِينَارًا»
