ahmad-zuhd:2250ʿAbdullāh from my father > al-Walīd b. Muslim > Ibn Jābir

[Machine] We used to raid with Ata' al-Khurasani, and he used to pray during the night. When approximately one-third or half of the night passed, he would call out from his tent, and we could hear him saying, "O Abdur Rahman bin Yazid! O Yazid bin Yazid! O Hisham bin al-Ghaz! O so and so bin so and so! Wake up, perform ablution, and pray this night and fast this day. It is easier than drinking the most refreshing drink and cutting through iron." Then he would repeat "waw" (i.e., the letter 'w' in Arabic) before focusing on his prayer.
