Anas ibn Malik said, "A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to ask him for a mount. He said, 'I will give you a she-camel's foal to ride.' He exclaimed, 'Messenger of Allah, what can I do with a she-camel's foal?' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Are camels born from anything other than she-camels?'"  

الأدب المفرد:٢٦٨حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَسْتَحْمِلُهُ فَقَالَ أَنَا حَامِلُكَ عَلَى وَلَدِ نَاقَةٍ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا أَصْنَعُ بِوَلَدِ نَاقَةٍ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهَلْ تَلِدُ الإِبِلَ إِلاَّ النُّوقُ

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah! give me a mount. The Prophet ﷺ said: We shall give you a she-camel's child to ride on. He said: What shall I do with a she-camel's child? The Prophet ﷺ replied: Do any others than she-camels give birth to camels?  

أبو داود:٤٩٩٨حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ احْمِلْنِي قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّا حَامِلُوكَ عَلَى وَلَدِ نَاقَةٍ قَالَ وَمَا أَصْنَعُ بِوَلَدِ النَّاقَةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَهَلْ تَلِدُ الإِبِلَ إِلاَّ النُّوقُ

"A man sought a mount from the Messenger of Allah who said: 'Indeed, I will let you ride on a she-camel's child.' So he said: 'O Messenger of Allah! What can ashe-camel's child do?' So the Messenger of Allah said: 'Are camels borne from other than she-camels?'"  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ-Gharīb.

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ
