[Machine] From his grandfather, who had the companionship of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, when a servant attains a rank from Allah that he cannot reach with his deeds, Allah afflicts him in his body, in his wealth, and in his children. Then He endows him with patience in that until he attains the rank that Allah has predestined for him."

عَنْ جَدِّهِ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللهِ مَنْزِلَةٌ لَمْ يَبْلُغْهَا بِعَمَلِهِ ابْتَلَاهُ اللهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ وَفِي مَالِهِ وَفِي وَلَدِهِ ثُمَّ صَبَّرَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْمَنْزِلَةَ الَّتِي سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللهِ ﷻ»

[Machine] "From his grandfather, and he had a close companionship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'When a servant is given a position by Allah that he cannot attain by his own actions, Allah tests him in his body, wealth, or offspring.' The son of Nufayl increased in patience upon that, until they both reached the status that Allah had predetermined for him.'"

عَنْ جَدِّهِ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللهِ ﷻ مَنْزِلَةٌ لَمْ يَنَلْهَا بِعَمَلِهِ ابْتَلَاهُ اللهُ فِي جَسَدِهِ أَوْ فِي مَالِهِ أَوْ فِي وَلَدِهِ زَادَ ابْنُ نُفَيْلٍ ثُمَّ صَبَرَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ اتَّفَقَا حَتَّى يُبَلِّغَهُ الْمَنْزِلَةَ الَّتِي سَبَقَتْ لَهُ مِنَ اللهِ ﷻ
