This tradition means that if a person performs ablution and takes a bath but does not have the intention to perform ablution for prayer and purify himself from sexual defilement, his ablution or bath is not valid.
أَنَّ تَفْسِيرَ حَدِيثِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لاَ وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ الَّذِي يَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَغْتَسِلُ وَلاَ يَنْوِي وُضُوءًا لِلصَّلاَةِ وَلاَ غُسْلاً لِلْجَنَابَةِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The prayer of a person who does not perform ablution is not valid, and the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah (in the beginning) is not valid.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ صَلاَةَ لِمَنْ لاَ وُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلاَ وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ
The Messenger of Allah said: "There is no ablution for one who does not mention the Name of Allah (before doing it)."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no prayer for one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for one who does not mention the Name of Allah (before it).'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ صَلاَةَ لِمَنْ لاَ وُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلاَ وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ

[Machine] "Abdullah, and I have heard him, I am from Haytham, said: Hafs ibn Maisarah narrated to us from Ibn Harmalah from Abu Thifal Al-Murri that he said: I heard Rabah ibn Abdul Rahman ibn Huwaytib say: My grandmother told me that she heard her father say: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: There is no prayer for one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for one who does not mention Allah Almighty, and one who does not believe in Allah does not believe in me, and one who does not love the Ansar does not believe in me."
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللهَ تَعَالَى وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ مَنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِي وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِي مَنْ لَا يُحِبُّ الْأَنْصَارَ
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "There is no prayer for the one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for the one who does not mention the name of Allah upon it, and whoever does not believe in Allah does not believe in me, and whoever does not love the Ansar does not believe in me."

There is no prayer for the one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for the one who does not mention the name of Allah upon it."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِاللهِ مَنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِي وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِي مَنْ لَا يُحِبُّ الْأَنْصَارَ وَلَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ
[Machine] "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'There is no prayer for the one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for the one who does not mention the name of Allah upon it, and the one who does not believe in Allah does not believe in me, and the one who does not believe in me does not love the Ansar.'"

[Machine] I heard the messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There is no prayer for the one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for the one who does not mention the name of Allah upon it. And one who does not believe in Allah does not believe in me, and one who does not believe in me does not believe in the Ansar (the supporters of the Prophet Muhammad).
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ مَنْ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِي وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِي مَنْ لَا يُحِبُّ الْأَنْصَارَ
The Messenger of Allah said: "There is no ablution for one who does not mention the Name of Allah (before doing it)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 397)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ»
[Machine] She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There is no prayer for one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for one who does not mention the name of Allah the Almighty upon it, and he does not believe in Allah who does not believe in me, and he does not love the Ansar." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the summary in this context.
أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ مَنْ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِي وَلَا يُحِبُّ الْأَنْصَارَ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص في هذا الموضع
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'There is no prayer for one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for one who does not mention the name of Allah upon it.' Muhammad bin Isma'il bin Abi Fudayk narrated it from Muhammad bin Musa al-Makhzumi.'"
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ» رَوَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَى الْمَخْزُومِيِّ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no prayer for one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for one who does not mention the name of Allah upon it. And whoever does not love the Ansar does not have faith." Abu Thifal Al-Murri said, "His name is Thumamah bin Wael," and it was also said, "Thumamah bin Husein." Jadat Rabah is the name of the daughter of Sa'id bin Zaid bin Amr bin Nufail.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِي مَنْ لَا يُحِبُّ الْأَنْصَارَ أَبُو ثِفَالٍ الْمُرِّيُّ يَقُولُ اسْمُهُ ثُمَامَةُ بْنُ وَائِلٍ وَقِيلَ ثُمَامَةُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ وَجَدَّةُ رَبَاحٍ هِيَ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ
"مَا آمَنَ بِالله مَنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِى، وَمَا آمَنَ بي مَنْ لَمْ يُحِبَّ الأنْصَارَ، وَلَا صَلاةَ إلا بِوُضُوءٍ، وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لم يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ الله عَلَيهِ".
"لَا صَلاَةَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَتَوَضَّأ، وَلَا وُضُوءَ لمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ الله عَلَيْهِ".
"لَا صَلاَةَ لِمَنْ لا وُضُوءَ لَهُ، وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكرْ اسْمَ الله عَلَيْهِ".
"لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ، وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ اسْمَ الله - تَعَالَي - عَلَيْهِ، وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِالله مَنْ لا يُؤْمِنُ بِي، وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِي مَنْ لَا يُحِبُّ الأَنْصَارَ".
"لَا صَلاَةَ لِمَنْ لَا وُضُوءَ لَهُ، وَلَا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ الله عَلَيْهِ، وَلَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ، وَلَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يُحِبَّ الأَنْصَارَ".
"لا وُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسمَ اللهِ عَلَيهِ".
