7. Chapter of Ḥā (Male) (12/21)
[Machine] Translation: Al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib, also known as Abu Muhammad, was born. His birth, his qualities, and his death are described.
The Prophet ﷺ said, "The buyer and the seller have the option of canceling or confirming the bargain unless they separate, and if they spoke the truth and made clear the defects of the goods, them they would be blessed in their bargain, and if they told lies and hid some facts, their bargain would be deprived of Allah's blessings." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2110)
The Prophet ﷺ said, "The upper hand is better than the lower hand (i.e. he who gives in charity is better than him who takes it). One should start giving first to his dependents. And the best object of charity is that which is given by a wealthy person (from the money which is left after his expenses). And whoever abstains from asking others for some financial help, Allah will give him and save him from asking others, Allah will make him self-sufficient." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1427)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was brought a vessel containing milk. To his right was a man from the Bedouins, and to his left was one of his companions who was younger than him. When the Prophet ﷺ finished drinking, he said, "O young man, this is for you. Allow me to give it to you." The young man asked, "Is it for me?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Yes." The young man said, "I will not give anyone my share from your seer," so the Prophet ﷺ gave it to him and he drank.
[Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was with his companions, he said to them, "Do you hear what I hear?" They replied, "We do not hear anything." He said, "Indeed, I hear the creaking of the heavens, and there is not a space the size of a handspan in it, except that there is an angel prostrating or standing upon it."
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about fasting, and he said, "Fast three days every month." I said, "I am able to do more than that." Then he said, "Fast three days every month." I said, "I am able to do more than that." Then he said, "Fast as the fasting of Prophet David: fast one day and break fast one day."
[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ to ask him, and he said, "Indeed, whoever asks people and is given, it is like one who eats and the hand that gives is better than the hand that receives. And the best charity is what is given while one is still self-sufficient. Begin with those whom you are responsible for." The wise person said, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, by the One who has honored you, I will never take anything from anyone."
[Machine] Muhammad ﷺ was the most beloved person to me among the people in the pre-Islamic era. When he was informed (of his prophethood) and he went to Madinah, a wise man witnessed the season while he was still a disbeliever. He found a robe of a person named Yazan being sold, so he bought it to give it as a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He presented it to him upon his arrival in Madinah, and he wanted to take its cost as a gift, but the Prophet ﷺ refused and said, "We do not accept anything from pagans, but if you wish, I will buy it from you at its price." So I gave it to him when he refused to take the gift, and I saw him wearing it on the pulpit. I did not see anything better than him that day. Then he gave it to Usamah ibn Zayd, and the wise man saw it on Usama, so he said, "O Usamah, are you wearing Yazan's robe?" Usamah replied, "Yes, by Allah, I am better than Yazan, and my father is better than his father." The wise man said, "I went to the people of Makkah and surprised them with what Usamah said."
[Machine] On the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded and took a handful of pebbles, then he faced us and threw it saying, "May their faces be humiliated." So we were defeated, then Allah revealed (in the Quran): {And you did not throw when you threw, but it was Allah who threw}.
لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ بَدْرٍ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنَ الْحَصْبَاءِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَنَا بِهِ فَرَمَانَا بِهَا وَقَالَ «شَاهَتِ الْوُجُوهُ» فَانْهَزَمْنَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ رَمَى}

[Machine] "Can I tell you more? So I caught up with the judgment and mentioned it to him, so he stopped until the people caught up and he said, 'I prepared the prayer for you because of the donkey that passed in front of you, and you hit me as an example of Ibn Abi Mu'ayt. I ask Allah to improve your character, improve your speech, and to aid you against your enemies, and to separate me from you.' So they left and they didn't see in their faces except what pleased them. And when they finished, he died."
[Machine] About Al-Hakam al-Ghifari, who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited (us) from dubbaa', hanatam, muzaffat, and naqeer."
[Machine] "Do you remember the day when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade (us) from offering nahr, muqayyir, dubbaa, and hantam?" He said, "Yes." The other person said, "And I bear witness to that."
[Machine] "A man from the Banu Ghifar, from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , narrated that the Prophet ﷺ forbade the offering of sacrificial animals to an idol, selling an animal by estimating its weight, and the practice of Dubba' (a type of divination). He also prohibited a man from purifying himself with the water used for ablution by a woman."
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade eulogies.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1592)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited performing ablution with the leftover water of a woman."
[Machine] From a man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ: "The Prophet ﷺ forbade using the leftover water after a woman's ablution."
[Machine] I was with Al-Hakam ibn 'Amr al-Ghifari when the messenger of Ali ibn Abi Talib came to him and said, "Ali says that you are more deserving than anyone else to assist us in this matter." Al-Hakam replied, "I heard my cousin, the Messenger of Allah, say, 'When the matter is like this or similar, I will take a sword made of wood.'" So I took a sword made of wood.
[Machine] "Do you know why I have come to you? Do you not remember that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was told by his commander to stand and fall into the fire, the man stood up to fall into it but was prevented and held back? The Prophet ﷺ then said, 'If he had fallen into it, he would have entered the fire as there is no obedience in the disobedience of Allah.' The man said, 'Yes.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'I only wanted to remind you of this hadith."
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah.' He used to wish to meet the other person in order to talk about it, and indeed he met him and said, 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he said, "There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah"? The other person said, 'Yes,' and he said, 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar,' or something similar."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer is annulled by a dog, a donkey, and a woman."
[Machine] The Guevarian judge, O Plague, take me to you," said a man from the people. "Why do you say this?" And I have heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say, "Do not wish for death." He said, "I have heard what you have heard, but I rather be six things: the seller of judgment, the enforcer of conditions, the ruler of young boys, the shedder of blood, the one who severs family ties, and a generation that will use the Quran as psalms in the end of time."
[Machine] Nu'man is a Ghifari, and I am a young boy from here and there. He said, "O my son, do not eat like this, like this is how the Shaytan eats. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , when he placed his hand in the dish or container, his fingers did not go beyond the place of his palm."

I sat with a man who had been in the company of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He was called al-Hakam ibn Hazn al-Kulafi. He began to narrate a tradition to us saying: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a delegation consisting of seven or nine persons. We entered upon him and said: Messenger of Allah, we have visited you, so pray Allah what is good for us. He ordered to give us some dates. The Muslims in those days were weak. We stayed there for several days and offered the Friday prayer along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He stood leaning on a staff or a bow. He praised Allah and exalted Him in light, pure and blessed words. Then he said: O people, you have no power to obey or you cannot obey what you are ordered. But be straight and give good tidings. Abu 'Ali said: Did you hear Abu Dawud ? He said: Some of my companions reminded me of some words that were omitted from writing on the paper. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1096)
[Machine] The daughter of Al-Hakam, I said to my grandfather Al-Hakam, "I have never seen a people who were more weak and worse in following the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than you, O Banu Umayyah." He replied, "Do not blame us, my daughter. I only inform you of what I have seen with my own eyes." We said, "By Allah, we still hear the Quraysh speaking ill of this man in our mosque. They conspired against him until we apprehended him, and we conspired against him as well. When we saw him, we heard a voice and thought that there was no hill in Taif that did not crumble upon us. We did not think clearly until he finished his prayer and returned to his family. Then we conspired again on another night, and when he came, we approached him and I saw Safa and Marwa meeting one another, with one of them between us and him. By Allah, that did not benefit us."
