أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ

[Machine] On the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded and took a handful of pebbles, then he faced us and threw it saying, "May their faces be humiliated." So we were defeated, then Allah revealed (in the Quran): {And you did not throw when you threw, but it was Allah who threw}.  

الطبراني:٣١٢٨حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَابَهْرَامَ الْأَيْذَجِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الشَّجَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الزَّمْعِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ مَوْلَى الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ بَدْرٍ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنَ الْحَصْبَاءِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَنَا بِهِ فَرَمَانَا بِهَا وَقَالَ «شَاهَتِ الْوُجُوهُ» فَانْهَزَمْنَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ رَمَى}
