21. Chapter of Fā (Male)
[Machine] I sat with Fadalah ibn 'Ubayd, a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and I said, "Advise me, may Allah have mercy on you." He said, "Remember three guidelines that Allah will benefit you with them, if you can. If you can be knowledgeable without being known, then do so. If you can listen without speaking, then do so. And if you can sit without being approached, then do so."

He said, "Guard against three things that Allah will benefit you with. If you can avoid being known and not knowing others, then do so. And if you can listen without speaking, then do so. And if you can sit without being approached, then do so."
