He who loves to meet Allah, Allah also loves to meet him, and who dislikes to meet Allah, Allah abhors to meet him. There is death before (one is able to) meet Allah. (Using translation from Muslim 2684c)

[Machine] "If one of you asks for something, let him ask secretly, for he only has what has been destined for him. And let not one of you go to his companion and praise him, so as not to cause his back to be broken."

tabarani:8884ʿAlī b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz > Abū Nuʿaym > al-Aʿmash > Mālik b. al-Ḥārith > ʿAbdullāh b. Rabīʿah

[Machine] We were sitting with Abdullah, and the people mentioned a man and talked about his character. Abdullah then said, "What if you were to cut off his head, would you be able to bring it back?" They replied, "No." He then asked, "What about his hand?" They replied, "No." He continued, "What about his leg?" They replied, "No." He said, "Indeed, you will not be able to change his character unless you change his nature. Indeed, the sperm remains in the womb for forty nights, then it becomes a clot of blood, then a clot of flesh, then it becomes a morsel, and then Allah sends an angel to him who records his provision and his character, whether he will be miserable or happy."

tabarani:8885Muḥammad b. al-Naḍr > Muʿāwiyah > Zāʾidah > al-Aʿmash > ʿAmr b. Murrah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Laylá > ʿAbdullāh b. Rabīʿah

[Machine] The people said, "Doesn't he have anyone who can defend him?" Abdullah said, "Do you think that if his head was cut off, you would be able to give him another head? Or if his hands were cut off, you would be able to give him another hand? Or if his leg was cut off, you would be able to give him another leg?" They said, "No." Abdullah said, "Indeed, when the sperm reaches the woman, it remains for forty days, then it becomes a clot, then it becomes a lump of flesh, and then Allah sends the angel and he says, 'Write down his lifespan, his deeds, his sustenance, whether he will be happy or miserable.' And you cannot change his character except by changing his actions."

[Machine] He heard his voice, so they glorify the Most Merciful for three hours until the Most Merciful's mercy is fulfilled. That is six hours. Then the wombs are brought and examined for three hours, and that is His saying in His book, "It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills." "He bestows female offspring upon whom He wills and bestows male offspring upon whom He wills. Or He mixes them, males and females, and He makes barren whom He wills. Indeed, He is Knowing and Competent." That is nine hours. Then provision is brought and examined for three hours. He said, "It is He who extends provision for whom He wills and restricts it. Indeed, He is, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing." He said, "This is from your affair and the affair of your Lord."

And I have no trust except in Your mercy, so make it a covenant for me with You that You fulfill it for me on the Day of Resurrection, for You do not fail in Your promise.'" So whoever among you is presented with a matter after today, let them decide based on what is in the Book of Allah. If an issue comes to them that is not in the Book of Allah, then let them decide based on what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ decided. If an issue comes to them that is not in the Book of Allah and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not decide on it, then let them decide based on the decisions of the righteous predecessors. If an issue comes to them that is not in the Book of Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not decide on it, and the righteous predecessors did not decide on it, then let them strive and not say, 'I am afraid' or 'I see.'
