The man said, "By Allah, I have no one to borrow from and I cannot find anyone to pay for me." He then took him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, this man owes me and I have been patient with him for a month, but he refuses to pay or bring someone to pay on his behalf." The man said, "By Allah, I cannot find anyone to pay for me and I have no money to pay today." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Have you been waiting for him for only a month?" The man replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then I will pay on his behalf." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fulfilled the debt for him, and when the man returned with the amount he owed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Where did you get this gold from?" The man replied, "From a mine." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Go, we have no need for it, and it contains no goodness." Thus, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ settled the debt for him.
