"عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: كَانَتْ عِدَةُ أَهْلِ بَدْر ثَلاثَمِائَةٍ وَثَلاثَةَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا، كَانَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ سَبْعَةً وَسَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا، وَالأَنْصَارُ مِائَتَيْن وَسِتَةً وَثَلاثينَ رَجُلًا، وَكَانَ صَاحِبُ رَايَةِ الْمُهَاجِرينَ عَلِىَّ بْنَ أَبِى طَالبٍ، وَصَاحِبُ رَايَةِ الأَنْصَارِ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبادَةَ".

[Machine] Abu Malik Al-Janbi narrated from Al-Hajjaj from Al-Hakam from Miqdam, from Ibn Abbas who said, "The number of Badr warriors was three hundred and thirteen. The Muhajireen (emigrants) were ninety-one men and the Ansar (helpers) were two hundred and thirty-three men. Ali ibn Abi Talib was the standard-bearer of the Muhajireen and Sa'ad ibn Ubada was the standard-bearer of the Ansar."
