"عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ بَنِى أَسَدٍ قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ عَمَّارًا بَعْدَ مَا فَرَغَ عَلِىٌّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الجَمَلِ يُنَادِى: لَا تَقْتُلُوا مُقْبِلًا، وَلَا مُدْبِرًا، وَلَا تُذَفِّفُوا عَلَى جَرِيحٍ، وَلَا تَدْخُلُوا دَارًا، مَنْ أَلْقَى السِّلَاحَ فَهُوَ آمنٌ، وَمَنْ أَغْلَقَ بَابَهُ فَهُوَ آمِنٌ".

"عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: أَمَرَ عَلِىٌّ مُنَادِيَهُ فَنَادَى يَوْمَ الْبَصْرَة لَا يُتْبَعُ مُدْبِرٌ وَلَا يُذَفَّفُ عَلَى جَرِيحٍ، وَلَا يُقْتَلُ أَسِيرٌ، وَمَنْ أَغْلَقَ بَابًا فَهُوَ آمِنٌ، وَمَنْ أَلْقَى سِلَاحَهُ فَهُوَ آمِنٌ، وَلَمْ يأَخُذْ مِنْ مَتَاعِهِ شَيْئًا".
