Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abu Abd ar- Rahman that Zayd ibn Thabit said that if a man divorced his slave-girl three times and then bought her, she was not halal for him until she had married another husband.
[AI] He used to say about a man who divorces a slave woman three times and then buys her back, that she is not lawful for him until she marries another husband. I heard Malik saying that this is the opinion of more than one companion of the Prophet ﷺ.
