We went from Mecca to Medina with Messenger of Allah ﷺ when my camel fell ill, and the rest of the hadith is the same. (But it in also narrated in it: ) He (the Holy Prophet) said to me: Sell your camel to me. I said: No, but it is yours. He said: No. (it can't be), but sell it to me. I said: No, but, Messenger of Allah, it is yours. He said: No, it can't be, but sell it to me. I said: Then give me an 'uqaya of gold for I owe that to a person and then it would be yours. He (the Holy Prophet) said: I take it (for an 'uqiya of gold) and you reach Medina on it. As I reached Medina, Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Bilal: Give him an 'uqiya of gold and make some extra payment too. He (Jabir) said: He gave me an 'uqiya of gold and made an addition of a qirat. He (Jabir) said: The addition made by Messenger of Allah ﷺ was with me (as a sacred trust for belssing) and lay with me in a pocket until the people of Syria took it on the Day of Harra.

أَقْبَلْنَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَاعْتَلَّ جَمَلِي وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِقِصَّتِهِ وَفِيهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي بِعْنِي جَمَلَكَ هَذَا قَالَ قُلْتُ لاَ بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ قَالَ لاَ بَلْ بِعْنِيهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لاَ بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لاَ بَلْ بِعْنِيهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّ لِرَجُلٍ عَلَىَّ أُوقِيَّةَ ذَهَبٍ فَهُوَ لَكَ بِهَا قَالَ قَدْ أَخَذْتُهُ فَتَبَلَّغْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِبِلاَلٍ أَعْطِهِ أُوقِيَّةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَزِدْهُ قَالَ فَأَعْطَانِي أُوقِيَّةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَزَادَنِي قِيرَاطًا قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لاَ تُفَارِقُنِي زِيَادَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَكَانَ فِي كِيسٍ لِي فَأَخَذَهُ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ يَوْمَ الْحَرَّةِ

"I was with the Messenger of Allah on a journey, and I was riding a camel. He said: 'Why are you at the back of the people?, I said: 'My camel is tired, He took hold of its tail and shouted at it, then I was at the front of the people, worrying that it would go ahead of the others. When we drew close to al-Madinah he said: 'What happened to the camel? Sell it to me.' I said, No, it is yours O Messenger of Allah.; He said, 'No, sell it tome. I said, 'No, it is yours, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'No, sell it to me. I will take it for one Uwqiyah but you (continue to) ride it. Then when you reach Al-Madinah, bring it to us.' So when I reached Al-Madinah, I brought it him. He said to Bilal: 'O Bilal, weight out for him one Uwqiyyah and add a Qirat.' I said: 'This is something extra that the Messenger of Allah gave to.' I kept it with me and put it in a bag, and it stayed with me until the people of Ash-Sham came on the Day of Al-Harrah and took from us what they took.'

كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ وَكُنْتُ عَلَى جَمَلٍ فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ فِي آخِرِ النَّاسِ قُلْتُ أَعْيَا بَعِيرِي فَأَخَذَ بِذَنَبِهِ ثُمَّ زَجَرَهُ فَإِنْ كُنْتُ إِنَّمَا أَنَا فِي أَوَّلِ النَّاسِ يُهِمُّنِي رَأْسُهُ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ مَا فَعَلَ الْجَمَلُ بِعْنِيهِ قُلْتُ لاَ بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لاَ بَلْ بِعْنِيهِ قُلْتُ لاَ بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ قَالَ لاَ بَلْ بِعْنِيهِ قَدْ أَخَذْتُهُ بِوُقِيَّةٍ ارْكَبْهُ فَإِذَا قَدِمْتَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَائْتِنَا بِهِ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ جِئْتُهُ بِهِ فَقَالَ لِبِلاَلٍ يَا بِلاَلُ زِنْ لَهُ أُوقِيَّةً وَزِدْهُ قِيرَاطًا قُلْتُ هَذَا شَىْءٌ زَادَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يُفَارِقْنِي فَجَعَلْتُهُ فِي كِيسٍ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ عِنْدِي حَتَّى جَاءَ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ يَوْمَ الْحَرَّةِ فَأَخَذُوا مِنَّا مَا أَخَذُوا

[AI] I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. When we approached the city, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have just got married and I would like permission to go to my family." He asked, "Have you married a virgin or a previously married woman?" I replied, "A previously married woman." He said, "Why not a virgin whom you could play with and she could play with you?" I said, "Abdullah has died and left behind female slaves whom I did not desire to be like them." He said, "Do not go to your family immediately." I was riding on a camel at that time, so I hastened. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught up with me while I was at the rear of the people and asked, "What is the matter, Jabir?" I said, "I was riding on my camel." He seized the halter of the camel and scolded it. Then he said, "I have been at the forefront of people, and I wanted to be in that position. But as soon as we approached the city, he asked me, "What happened to the camel?" I said, "Here it is." He then purchased it from me. I said, "It is yours." He said, "It is for you." I said, "No, I have taken it on rent. Ride it and bring it to us." When I arrived in the city, I brought it to him. He said to Bilal, "Weigh it for him and add some more weight to it." I said, "This camel has already been added weight by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and it will never separate from me until I die." I put it in a bag and it remained with me until the people of Sham took it forcefully along with all their spoils on the day of Harrah.

كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِعُرْسٍ فَأْذَنْ لِي فِي أَنْ أَتَعَجَّلَ إِلَى أَهْلِي؟ قَالَ أَفَتَزَوَّجْتَ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ بِكْرًا أَمْ ثَيِّبًا؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ ثَيِّبًا قَالَ فَهَلَّا بِكْرًا تُلَاعِبُهَا وَتُلَاعِبُكَ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ هَلَكَ وَتَرَكَ عَلَيَّ جَوَارِيَ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَضُمَّ إِلَيْهِنَّ مِثْلَهُنَّ فَقَالَ لَا تَأْتِ أَهْلَكَ طُرُوقًا قَالَ وَكُنْتُ عَلَى جَمَلٍ فَاعْتَلَّ قَالَ فَلَحِقَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا فِي آخِرِ النَّاسِ قَالَ فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ يَا جَابِرُ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ اعْتَلَّ بَعِيرِي قَالَ فَأَخَذَ بِذَنَبِهِ ثُمَّ زَجَرَهُ قَالَ فَمَا زِلْتُ إِنَّمَا أَنَا فِي أَوَّلِ النَّاسِ يَهُمُّنِي رَأْسُهُ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا فَعَلَ الْجَمَلُ؟ قُلْتُ هُوَ ذَا قَالَ فَبِعْنِيهِ قُلْتُ لَا بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ قَالَ بِعْنِيهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ هُوَ لَكَ قَالَ لَا قَدْ أَخَذْتُهُ بِأُوقِيَّةٍ ارْكَبْهُ فَإِذَا قَدِمْتَ فَأْتِنَا بِهِ قَالَ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ جِئْتُ بِهِ فَقَالَ يَا بِلَالُ زِنْ لَهُ وُقِيَّةً وَزِدْهُ قِيرَاطًا قَالَ قُلْتُ هَذَا قِيرَاطٌ زَادَنِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺلَا يُفَارِقُنِي أَبَدًا حَتَّى أَمُوتَ قَالَ فَجَعَلْتُهُ فِي كِيسٍ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ عِنْدِي حَتَّى جَاءَ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ يَوْمَ الْحَرَّةِ فَأَخَذُوهُ فِيمَا أَخَذُوا

[AI] "We traveled from Mecca to Medina and we stopped at a place outside of Medina. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Sell me your camel.' I said, 'No, it belongs to you.' He said, 'No, sell it to me.' I said, 'No, it is yours, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'No, I mean sell it to me.' I said, 'There was a man who owed me some gold, so it is yours in exchange for that.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'I have taken it, so take it to Medina.' When I arrived in Medina, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Bilal, 'Give him a piece of gold and increase it.' Bilal gave me a piece of gold and added another carat. I said, 'Do not separate me from the extra gift of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' So, it was in a bag and the people of Sham took it during the free nights."

أَقْبَلْنَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَنَزَلْنَا مَنْزِلًا دُونَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «بِعْنِي جَمَلَكَ هَذَا» قُلْتُ لَا بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ قَالَ فَقَالَ «لَا بِعْنِيهِ» قُلْتُ لَا بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «لَا بِعْنِيهِ» قُلْتُ كَانَ لِرَجُلٍ عَلَيَّ أُوقِيَّةٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَهُوَ لَكَ بِهَا قَالَ ﷺ «قَدْ أَخَذْتُهُ فَتَبَلَّغْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ» فَلَمَّا قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِبِلَالٍ «أَعْطِهِ أُوقِيَّةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَزِدْهُ» قَالَ فَأَعْطَانِي أُوقِيَّةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَزَادَنِي قِيرَاطًا قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَا تُفَارِقُنِي زِيَادَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ فِي كِيسٍ فَأَخَذَهُ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ لَيَالِيَ الْحَرَّةِ

[AI] We traveled from Makkah to Medina with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. My camel became exhausted, so I left it behind and went ahead to lead it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delayed because of a need, but he caught up with me and said, "Why did you separate?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, only because my camel is unable to proceed, and I intended to join the people." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of its reins, hit it, and scolded it, then he said, "Mount." I said, "I have indeed seen you after that, and I was, indeed, holding it back from the people." Then we descended at a place near Medina, and I wanted to hurry to my family, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Do not take a shortcut to your family." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have just concluded a marriage contract." He said, "Have you not married a virgin?" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, but she is too young for me to play with her, and she is too young to play with me." He remained silent and did not say anything good or bad. Then he said, "By the way, your camel, this camel of yours." I said, "No, it belongs to you, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "No, it belongs to both of us." I said, "It is yours, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "No, it belongs to both of us." I said, "Yes, it is for you, in return for the two gold rings." He said, "I have taken it, so continue on it to Medina." When I arrived in Medina, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Bilal, "Give him two gold rings and increase it." So he gave me two gold rings and added one more carat. I said, "Do not leave me without the extra from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He replied, "It is in my bag, and the people of Sham took it on the day of Uhud."

أَقْبَلْنَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَأَعْيَا جَمَلِي فَتَخَلَّفْتُ عَلَيْهِ أَسُوقُهُ قَالَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي حَاجَةٍ مُتَخَلِّفًا فَلَحِقَنِي فَقَالَ لِي «مَا لَكَ مُتَخَلِّفًا؟ » قَالَ قُلْتُ لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا أَنَّ جَمَلِيَ ظَالِعٌ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَلْحَقَهُ بِالْقَوْمِ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِذَنَبِهِ فَضَرَبَهُ ثُمَّ زَجَرَهُ فَقَالَ «ارْكَبْ» قَالَ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي بَعْدُ وَإِنِّي لَأَكُفُّهُ عَنِ الْقَوْمِ قَالَ فَنَزَلْنَا مَنْزِلًا دُونَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَعَجَّلَ إِلَى أَهْلِي فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَأْتِ أَهْلكَ طَرُوقًا» قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِعُرْسٍ قَالَ «فَمَا تَزَوَّجْتَ؟ » قُلْتُ امْرَأَةً ثَيِّبًا قَالَ «فَهَلَّا بِكْرًا تُلَاعِبُهَا وَتُلَاعِبُكَ؟ » قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ تُوُفِّيَ أَوِ اسْتُشْهِدَ وَتَرَكَ جَوَارِيَ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِثْلَهُنَّ قَالَ فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ أَحْسَنْتَ وَلَا أَسَأْتَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «بِعْنِي جَمَلَكَ هَذَا» قَالَ قُلْتُ لَا بَلْ هُوَ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «لَا بَلْ بِعْنِيهِ» قَالَ قُلْتُ هُوَ لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «لَا بَلْ بِعْنِيهِ» قُلْتُ أَجَلْ عَلَى أُوقِيَّةِ ذَهَبٍ فَهُوَ لَكَ بِهَا قَالَ «قَدْ أَخَذْتُهُ فَتَبَلَّغْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ» فَلَمَّا قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِبِلَالٍ «أَعْطِهِ أُوقِيَّةَ ذَهَبٍ وَزِدْهُ» قَالَ فَأَعْطَانِي أُوقِيَّةَ ذَهَبٍ وَزَادَنِي قِيرَاطًا قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَا تُفَارِقُنِي زِيَادَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَكَانَ فِي كِيسٍ لِي فَأَخَذَهُ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ يَوْمَ الْحَرَّةِ
