“The Prophet ﷺ mentioned something and said: ‘That will be at the time when knowledge (of Qur’an) disappears.’ I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, how will knowledge disappear when we read the Qur’an and teach it to our children, until the Day of Resurrection?’ He said: ‘May your mother be bereft of you, Ziyad! I thought that you were the wisest man in Al- Madinah. Is it not the case that these Jews and Christians read the Tawrah and the Injil, but they do not act upon anything of what is in them?’”

[Machine] "I came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, while he was speaking to his companions and saying, 'The time of knowledge has passed.' I said, 'By my father and mother, how can the time of knowledge pass when we are reading and teaching the Quran, and our children are learning it, and our children are teaching their children until the Day of Judgment?' [Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was talking to his companions and saying, "How could knowledge disappear?" I said, "By the lives of my parents, how could knowledge disappear while we are reciting the Quran and teaching it to our children, and our children are teaching it to their children, until the Hour is established?" He said, "May your mother be bereaved of you, O Ibn Labid! I certainly see you as the most knowledgeable person in Medina. Are not the Jews and the Christians reading the Torah and the Gospel, yet they do not benefit from them at all?"
