It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ acquired his sword Dhulfiqar, from the spoils of war on the Day of badr.  

ابن ماجة:٢٨٠٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الصَّلْتِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَنَفَّلَ سَيْفَهُ ذَا الْفِقَارِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ

«تَنَفَّلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَيْفَهُ ذَا الْفَقَارِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَإِنَّمَا أَخْرَجْتُهُ فِي هَذَا الْمَوْضِعِ لَأَخْبَارٍ وَاهِيَةٍ أَنَّ ذَا الْفَقَارَ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ صحيح

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , wielded his sword Dhu-l-Faqar on the day of Badr, and it was he who saw the vision on the day of Uhud.
