٨۔٥۔٤٠ ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ اللَّحْمَ الَّذِي أَكَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ مِنْهُ كَانَ لَحْمَ شَاةٍ لَا لَحْمَ إِبِلٍ
[Machine] "I had dinner with Umar, and two plates were brought. One was placed in front of him, and the other in front of the people. He prayed without performing ablution."
وَتَعَشَّيْتُ مَعَ عُمَرَ فَأُتِيَ بِقَصْعَتَيْنِ فَوُضِعَتْ وَاحِدَةٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَالْأُخْرَى بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْقَوْمِ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ
8.5 [Machine] Nullifiers of Wudu
٨۔٥ بَابُ نَوَاقِضِ الْوُضُوءِ
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْكَتِفَ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ﷺ مِنْ أَكْلِهِ كَانَ ذَلِكَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ لَا كَتِفَ إِبِلٍ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took (the meat of) a (goat's) shoulder and offered prayer and did not perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 187)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِأَنَّ الْكَتِفَ الَّذِي أَكَلَهُ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ مِنْهُ كَانَ ذَلِكَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ لَا كَتِفَ إِبِلٍ
I saw Messenger of Allah ﷺ cutting part of the shoulder of mutton with a knife. He ate of it and then was called for prayer whereupon he got up and put down the knife and offered the prayer without performing new ablution. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5422)
«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَحْتَزُّ مِنْ كَتِفِ شَاةٍ فَيَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا فَدُعِيَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَقَامَ فَطَرَحَ السِّكِّينَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَالِثٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِأَنَّ الْكَتِفَ الَّذِي أَكَلَهُ ﷺ فَصَلَّى مِنْ غَيْرِ إِحْدَاثِ وُضُوءٍ، كَانَ ذَلِكَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ لَا كَتِفَ إِبِلٍ
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate the shoulder of a sheep, then he stood up for prayer and prayed without performing ablution or rinsing his mouth."
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ وَلَمْ يَتَمَضْمَضْ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْكَتِفَ الَّذِي أَكَلَهُ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ مِنْهُ، إِنَّمَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ لَا كَتِفَ إِبِلٍ
[Machine] "Narrated to us Al-Qa'nabi from Malik from Zaid bin Aslam from Ata' bin Yasar from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate the shoulder of a sheep, then he performed prayer without performing ablution (wudu)."
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْكَتِفَ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ﷺ مِنْ أَكْلِهِ، كَانَ ذَلِكَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ لَا كَتِفَ إِبِلٍ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate a piece of cooked mutton from the shoulder region and prayed without repeating ablution. (Using translation from Bukhārī 207)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْأَكْلَ الَّذِي وَصَفْنَاهُ مِنَ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ اللَّحْمَ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ مِنْهُ، كَانَ ذَلِكَ لَحْمَ شَاةٍ لَا لَحْمَ إِبِلٍ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ visited a woman from the Ansar. She spread out a mat for him and sprinkled water around it. She slaughtered a sheep and prepared food for him, and he ﷺ ate and we ate with him. Then he performed ablution for the Dhuhr prayer and prayed. The woman said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have a surplus from our sheep. Will you join us for dinner?" He said, "Yes." So he ate and we ate with him. Then he prayed the Asr prayer without performing ablution.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَتَى امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَبَسَطَتْ لَهُ عِنْدَ صَوْرٍ وَرَشَّتْ حَوْلَهُ وَذَبَحَتْ شَاةً فَصَنَعَتْ لَهُ طَعَامًا فَأَكَلَ ﷺ وَأَكَلْنَا مَعَهُ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ لِصَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ فَصَلَّى فَقَالَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ فَضَلَتْ عِنْدَنَا مِنْ شَاتِنَا فَضْلَةٌ فَهَلْ لَكَ فِي الْعَشَاءِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» فَأَكَلَ وَأَكَلْنَا ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ
ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ بِالشَّيْءِ الَّذِي نَسَخَهُ فِعْلُهُ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَاهُ قَبْلُ
[Machine] Abu Hurayrah ate a rib of a sheep, then he performed ablution (wudu). Afterwards, he said, "Do you know why I performed ablution? I ate a rib of a sheep. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Perform ablution from whatever has touched the fire.'"
أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَكَلَ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَتَدْرُونَ لِمَ تَوَضَّأْتُ؟ إِنِّي أَكَلْتُ أَثْوَارَ أَقِطٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «تَوَضَّأْ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ»
ذِكْرُ أَمْرِ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ بِالْوُضُوءِ مِنْ أَكْلِ مَا مَسَّتْهُ النَّارُ
[Machine] "He found Abu Hurayrah on the back of the mosque performing ablution, so he asked him. Abu Hurayrah said, 'I am performing ablution from the leftovers of a cat I ate. Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Perform ablution from what the fire has touched.'"
أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْمَسْجِدِ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَسَأَلَهُ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّمَا أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ أَثْوَارِ أَقِطٍ أَكَلْتُهَا إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «تَوَضَّأْ مِمَّا مَسَّتْهُ النَّارُ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَهُ ﷺ «تَوَضَّأْ مِمَّا مَسَّتْهُ النَّارُ» أَرَادَ بِهِ مَا أَنْضَجَتْهُ النَّارُ
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Perform ablution with the water that touched the fire."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «تَوَضَّأْ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمَرْءِ تَرْكُ الْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ
[Machine] It was narrated by Abu Rafi', the servant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , that he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given a sheep as a gift, and its stomach was grilled for him. He ate from it, then he stood up to pray without performing ablution (wudu)."
عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أُهْدِيَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ شَاةٌ فَشُوِيَ لَهُ بَطْنُهَا فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمَرْءِ تَرْكُ الْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتْهُ النَّارُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ
[Machine] "He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ suffering from a headache, so he approached the muezzin to call for prayer, and he brought a piece of cloth and a knife from his hand and did not perform ablution."
«أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَحْتَزُّ مِنْ عَرْقٍ يَأْكُلُ فَأَتَى الْمُؤَذِّنُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَأَلْقَى الْعَرْقَ وَالسِّكِّينَ مِنْ يَدِهِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ تَرْكَ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ أَكْلِ كَتِفِ الشَّاةِ كَانَ بَعْدَ الْأَمْرِ بِالْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ
[Machine] "He saw the Prophet ﷺ performing ablution (wudu) using a container made from the horn of a sheep, and then saw him eating the shoulder of a sheep without performing ablution again."
«أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ مِنْ ثَوْرِ أَقِطٍ ثُمَّ رَآهُ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ إِبَاحَةِ تَرْكِ الْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتْهُ النَّارُ مِنَ الْأَسْوِقَةِ
[Machine] "We accompanied the Messenger of Allahﷺ until we reached a place in Khaybar. The Messenger of Allahﷺ called for food, but only saw some barley. So we ate it. Then he called for water, and the Messenger of Allahﷺ rinsed his mouth and performed the prayer without performing ablution."
«أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا عَلَى رَوْحَةٍ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِطَعَامٍ فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ إِلَّا سَوِيقٌ قَالَ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَمَضْمَضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمَرْءِ إِذَا أَكَلَ لَحْمًا مَسَّتْهُ النَّارُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً بِيَدِهِ وَلَا فَمِهِ
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eating a shoulder of mutton and then praying without rinsing his mouth or touching water."
«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ عَرْقًا مِنْ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَمَضْمَضْ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْأَمْرَ بِالْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ مَنْسُوخٌ خَلَا لَحْمِ الْإِبِلِ وَحْدَهَا
A man asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) whether he should perform ablution after (eating) mutton. He (the Messenger of Allah) said: Perform ablution it you so desire, and if you do not wish, do not perform it. He (again) asked: Should I perform ablution (after eating) camel's flesh? He said: Yes, perform ablution (after eating) camel's flesh. He (again) said: May I say prayer in the sheepfolds? He (the Messenger of Allah) said: Yes. He (the narrator) again said: May I say prayer where camels lie down? He (the Holy Prophet) said: No. (Using translation from Muslim 360a)
أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ؟ قَالَ «إِنْ شِئْتَ فَتَوَضَّأْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَلَا تَتَوَضَّأْ» قَالَ أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ تَوَضَّأْ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ» قَالَ أُصَلِّي فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قَالَ أُصَلِّي فِي مَبَارِكِ الْإِبِلِ؟ قَالَ «لَا»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى أَنَّ الْوُضُوءَ لَا يَجِبُ مِنْ أَكْلِ مَا مَسَّتْهُ النَّارُ خَلَا لَحْمِ الْجَزُورِ لِلْأَمْرِ الَّذِي وَصَفْنَاهُ قَبْلُ
[Machine] Narrated Al-Qa'nabi from Malik from Yahya bin Sa'id from Bashir bin Yasir that Suwaid bin Al-Nu'man informed him that he went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the year of Khaybar until when we were in Sahba', which was closer to Khaybar, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ descended and prayed Asr. Then he called for the provisions, but nothing was brought except Sawiq. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered it and it was thickened. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate and we ate with him. Then he stood up for Maghrib and rinsed his mouth, and we also rinsed our mouths, but he did not perform ablution.
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ النُّعْمَانِ أَخْبَرَهُ «أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ خَيْبَرَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِالصَّهْبَاءِ وَهِيَ مِنْ أَدْنَى خَيْبَرَ نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِالْأَزْوَادِ فَلَمْ يُؤْتَ إِلَّا بِالسَّوِيقِ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَثُرِّيَ فَأَكَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَكَلْنَا مَعَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الْمَغْرِبِ فَمَضْمَضَ وَمَضْمَضْنَا وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى أَنَّ الْأَمْرَ بِالْوُضُوءِ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْإِبِلِ هُوَ الْمُسْتَثْنَى، مِمَّا أُبِيحَ مِنْ تَرْكِ الْوُضُوءِ، مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ
A man asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) whether he should perform ablution after (eating) mutton. ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِصِحَّةِ مَا ذَكَرْنَاهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about performing ablution (wudu) using sheep meat, so he said, "Perform ablution if you wish."
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ لُحُومِ الْغَنَمِ فَقَالَ «تَوَضَّأْ إِنْ شِئْتَ»
ذِكْرُ إِبَاحَةِ تَرْكِ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ شُرْبِ الْأَلْبَانِ كُلِّهَا
[Machine] The translation of the given Arabic sentence is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drank milk and then called for a container and rinsed his mouth and said, 'It contains fat.' "
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ شَرِبَ لَبَنًا ثُمَّ دَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ فَمَضْمَضَ وَقَالَ «إِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًا»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ شُرْبَ اللَّبَنِ لَا يُوجِبُ عَلَى شَارِبِهِ وُضُوءًا
it contains greasiness. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 196)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ شَرِبَ لَبَنًا فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَتَمَضْمَضَ وَقَالَ «إِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًا»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى إِبَاحَةِ تَرْكِ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ أَكْلِ الْفَوَاكِهِ
[Machine] From Jabir, it was narrated that they used to eat dates on plates. Then the Prophet ﷺ passed by us, so we said to him, "Come and join us." He came forward and ate dates with us, without touching any water.
عَنْ جَابِرٍ «أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَأْكُلُونَ تَمْرًا عَلَى تُرْسٍ فَمَرَّ بِنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا هَلُمَّ فَتَقَدَّمَ فَأَكَلَ مَعَنَا مِنَ التَّمْرِ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً»
ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ بِالْوُضُوءِ مِنْ حَمْلِ الْمَيِّتِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who washes the dead should take a bath, and he who carries him should perform ablution. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3161)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ غَسَّلَ مَيِّتًا فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ وَمَنْ حَمَلَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ»
ذِكْرُ إِبَاحَةِ اقْتِصَارِ الْمَرْءِ عَلَى مَسْحِ الْيَدِ بِشَيْءٍ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْغَمَرِ دُونَ غَسْلِ الْيَدَيْنِ مِنْهُ عِنْدَ الْقِيَامِ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a shoulder (of goat's meat) and after wiping his hand with a cloth on which he was sitting, he got up and prayed. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 189)
«أَكَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ كَتِفًا ثُمَّ مَسَحَ يَدَهُ بِمِسْحٍ كَانَ تَحْتَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ مَسْحَ الْمَرْءِ اللَّحْمَ النَّيِّئَ لَا يُوجِبُ عَلَيْهِ وُضُوءًا
“Step aside and I will show you how.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ put his hand between the skin and the flesh, and thrust his arm in until it disappeared up to the armpit, and said: “O boy, this is how you skin it.” Then he went and led the people in prayer and did not perform Wudu’. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3179)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَرَّ بِغُلَامٍ يَسْلُخُ شَاةً فَقَالَ لَهُ «تَنَحَّ حَتَّى أُرِيَكَ فَإِنِّي لَا أَرَاكَ تُحْسِنُ تَسْلُخُ» قَالَ فَأَدْخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ بَيْنَ الْجِلْدِ وَاللَّحْمِ فَدَحَسَ بِهَا حَتَّى تَوَارَتْ إِلَى الْإِبْطِ ثُمَّ قَالَ ﷺ «هَكَذَا يَا غُلَامُ فَاسْلُخْ» ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً
