My friend (the Prophet ﷺ) advised me to do three things and I shall not leave them till I die: (1) to fast three days every month, (2) to offer the Duha prayer, and (3) to offer Witr before sleeping.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلاَثٍ لاَ أَدَعُهُنَّ حَتَّى أَمُوتَ: (١) صَوْمِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، (٢) وَصَلاَةِ الضُّحَى، (٣) وَنَوْمٍ عَلَى وِتْرٍ.

My friend (the Prophet ﷺ ) advised me to observe three things: (1) to fast three days a month; (2) to pray two rakʿat of Duha prayer (forenoon prayer); and (3) to pray witr before sleeping.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِثَلاَثٍ صِيَامِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَرَكْعَتَىِ الضُّحَى وَأَنْ أُوتِرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَنَامَ

three fasts during every month, two rak'ahs of the forenoon prayer, and observing Witr prayer before going to bed.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِثَلاَثٍ بِصِيَامِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَرَكْعَتَىِ الضُّحَى وَأَنْ أُوتِرَ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَرْقُدَ

My Friend ﷺ instructed me in three (acts), and I would never abandon them as long as I live. (And these three things are): Three fasts during every month, the forenoon prayer, and this that I should not sleep till I have observed the Witr prayer.

أَوْصَانِي حَبِيبِي ﷺ بِثَلاَثٍ لَنْ أَدَعَهُنَّ مَا عِشْتُ بِصِيَامِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَصَلاَةِ الضُّحَى وَبِأَنْ لاَ أَنَامَ حَتَّى أُوتِرَ

My friend (i.e. the Prophet) instructed me to observe three practices that I do not leave while traveling nor while resident, to pray two rakʿahs in the forenoon, to fast three days every month and not to sleep but after observing the witr.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِثَلاَثٍ لاَ أَدَعُهُنَّ فِي سَفَرٍ وَلاَ حَضَرٍ رَكْعَتَىِ الضُّحَى وَصَوْمِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ وَأَنْ لاَ أَنَامَ إِلاَّ عَلَى وِتْرٍ

My friend (i.e. the Prophet) instructed me to observe three practices which I never leave: he instructed me to fast three days every month, and not to sleep but after observing the witr, and to observe supererogatory prayer in the forenoon while traveling and while resident.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِثَلاَثٍ لاَ أَدَعُهُنَّ لِشَىْءٍ أَوْصَانِي بِصِيَامِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَلاَ أَنَامُ إِلاَّ عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَبِسُبْحَةِ الضُّحَى فِي الْحَضَرِ وَالسَّفَرِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast three days every month.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ يَعْنِي مِنْ غُرَّةِ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ

"The Messenger of Allah took a covenant from me for three: To not sleep except after performing Witr, to fast three days of every month, and to perform the Duha prayer."

عَهِدَ إِلَىَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثَلاَثَةً أَنْ لاَ أَنَامَ إِلاَّ عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَصَوْمَ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَأَنْ أُصَلِّيَ الضُّحَى

"My dearest friend advised me (to do) three things: 'To sleep after praying Witr, to fast three days each month, and to pray two rak'ahs of Fajr.'"

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِثَلاَثٍ النَّوْمِ عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَصِيَامِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَرَكْعَتَىِ الضُّحَى

"My closest friend advised me to do three things: 'To pray witr at the beginning of the night, to pray two rak'ahs of Fajr and to fast three days of each month.'"

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِثَلاَثٍ الْوِتْرِ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ وَرَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ وَصَوْمِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ

"The Messenger of Allah commanded me to pray two Rakahs of Duha, and not to sleep until I had prayed witr, and to fast three days each month."

أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِرَكْعَتَىِ الضُّحَى وَأَنْ لاَ أَنَامَ إِلاَّ عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَصِيَامِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ

"My beloved Prophet advised me to do three things which I will never give up, if Allah wills. He advised me to pray Duha, to pray Witr before sleeping, and to fast three days of each month."

"The Messenger of Allah enjoyed three things upon me: To sleep after praying Witr, to perform Ghusal on Friday, and to fast three days of each month." (Sahih).

أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِثَلاَثٍ بِنَوْمٍ عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَصَوْمِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ

"The Messenger of Allah commanded me to pray two Rakahs of Duah,nt to sleep until after praying Witr and to fast three days of each month. (Sahih).

"The Messenger of Allah commanded me to sleep after praying Witr, to perform Ghusl on Friday and to fast three days of each month." (Sahih).

أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِنَوْمٍ عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَصِيَامِ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ

" I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'The month of patience ( Ramadan) and three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime."' (Sahih).

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ شَهْرُ الصَّبْرِ وَثَلاَثَةُ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'It is a good fast to fast three days of each month".

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ صِيَامٌ حَسَنٌ ثَلاَثَةُ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ

"I heard Ibn 'Umar say" "The Prophet used to fast three days of each month.

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصُومُ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ

[AI] My friend advised me of three things that I will not abandon until I die: praying the Witr prayer before I sleep, fasting three days every month, and performing two units of prayer before the Dhuha prayer.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ لَا أَدَعُهُنَّ حَتَّى أَمُوتَ الْوِتْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَنَامَ وَصَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَمِنَ الضُّحَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ

[AI] "He heard Abu Huraira say: 'My beloved friend advised me with three things that I will never neglect. Firstly, to never sleep except after praying Witr (an additional prayer performed after Isha prayer). Secondly, to fast three days every month. And thirdly, to never abandon the two Rak'ahs of Dhuha (a voluntary prayer performed in the morning).' "

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ لَسْتُ بِتَارِكِهِنَّ أَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَأَنْ أَصُومَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَأَنْ لَا أَدَعَ رَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى

[AI] I whisper (mention) them (the following) every night before sleeping: fasting three days every month, washing on Fridays, and continuing until my death on odd days.

هُشَيْمٌ فَلَا أَدَعُهُنَّ حَتَّى أَمُوتَ بِالْوِتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ

[AI] My friend advised me with three things: fasting three days every month, praying the odd-numbered prayers before sleeping, and taking a bath on Fridays.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ صَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَالْوَتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ

[AI] "Abu Hurairah advised me, my beloved, to fast three days every month, and to pray the Dhuha prayer. I never sleep except on my right side."

أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ صَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَصَلَاةِ الضُّحَى وَلَا أَنَامُ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ

[AI] My friend advised me with three things; fasting three days every month, praying Witr before sleeping, and performing the Friday bath.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ صَوْمُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَالْوِتْرُ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَالْغُسْلُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Fasting the month of patience and three days of every month is fasting for a lifetime.”

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ صَوْمُ شَهْرِ الصَّبْرِ وَثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ

[AI] Abu Hurairah said, "My beloved, ﷺ , advised me to fast three days every month and to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, and to pray Duha, for it is the prayer of the devout."

سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِصَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَبِالْوِتْرِ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَبِصَلَاةِ الضُّحَىفَإِنَّهَا صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ

[AI] My friend Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ advised me with three things that I never leave. They are fasting three days every month, praying Witr (an optional prayer after the Isha prayer) before sleep, and performing the ritual washing on Fridays.

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ بِثَلَاثٍ لَا أَدَعُهُنَّ صَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَأَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَىوِتْرٍ وَالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ

"The Messenger of Allah enjoyed three things upon me: To sleep after praying Witr, to perform Ghusal on Friday, and to fast three days of each month." (Sahih). (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2405)

أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِثَلَاثٍ بِنَوْمٍ عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَصَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ

[AI] "From my beloved friend Abu Qasim ﷺ , it is recommended to perform the Witr prayer before sleep, fast three days every month, and perform the two Rak'at of Duha prayer."

عَنْ خَلِيلِي أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ الْوَتْرُ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَصَوْمُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى

أَوْصَانِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ خَلِيلِي بِثَلَاثٍ لَا أَدَعُهُنَّ الْغُسْلُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَصَوْمُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَالْوَتْرُ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ

"The Messenger of Allah commanded me to pray two Rakahs of Duha, and not to sleep until I had prayed witr, and to fast three days each month." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2369)

أَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ وَصَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى

[AI] "He heard Abu Huraira say: My beloved Prophet ﷺ advised me with three things that I will not abandon until I die. He advised me to perform two Rak'ahs of Duha prayer, to fast three days every month, and to always sleep on my right side."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي ﷺ بِثَلَاثٍ لَا أَدَعُهُنَّ حَتَّى أَمُوتَ أَوْصَانِي بِرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى وَبِصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَأَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ said about fasting for three days of the month, "Fasting these three days is equivalent to fasting the whole year, and breaking the fast of these days is also beneficial."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي صِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Fasting three days of every month is fasting for a lifetime, and their sunset is the breaking of the fast."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet, ﷺ , he said about fasting for three days every month: "The fast of three days from every month is equivalent to fasting for the whole year, and the reward of breaking the fast."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي صِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Fasting for three days every month is fasting for the entire lifetime, and its reward is equivalent to that of fasting the whole year, and the reward of its breaking the fast."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said about fasting three days of the month, it is like fasting for a lifetime and its breaking of fast.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي صِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever fasts three days of every month has fasted the entire year."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ فَقَدْ صَامَ الدَّهْرَ كُلَّهُ

أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ بِثَلَاثٍ «الْوِتْرُ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ وَصَلَاةُ الضُّحَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَصَوْمُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast three days every month. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2450)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَصُومُ مِنْ غُرَّةِ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ»

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ said: "Fasting three days in every month is the fasting of a lifetime and its regular observance."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَوْمُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَقِيَامُهُ»

[AI] From his father, the Prophet ﷺ wiped his head and said, "The fasting of three days each month is equivalent to fasting the entire year and its (rewarded) breaking of the fast."

عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صِيَامُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ»
