The Prophet ﷺ said, "Be straight in the prostrations and none of you should put his forearms on the ground (in the prostration) like a dog."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ انْبِسَاطَ الْكَلْبِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Observe moderation in prostration, and let none of you stretch out his forearms (on the ground) like a dog.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ انْبِسَاطَ الْكَلْبِ

Anas reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying; Adopt a moderate position when prostrating yourselves, and see that none of you stretches out his forearms(on the ground) like a dog.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَفْتَرِشْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ افْتِرَاشَ الْكَلْبِ

when one of you prostrates himself, he should not stretch out his forearms( on the ground) like a dog and he should join both of his thighs.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا سَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلاَ يَفْتَرِشْ يَدَيْهِ افْتِرَاشَ الْكَلْبِ وَلْيَضُمَّ فَخِذَيْهِ

Messenger of Allah said: "Be balanced in the prostration, and let one of you not spread his forearms (on the ground) in the Salat like the spreading of the dog."

سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَبْسُطَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فِي الصَّلاَةِ بَسْطَ الْكَلْبِ

"Be moderate in bowing and prostration, and do not rest your forearms along the ground like a dog."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَالْكَلْبِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not rest your forearms on the ground like a dog when prostrating."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَفْتَرِشْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فِي السُّجُودِ افْتِرَاشَ الْكَلْبِ

"I heard Anas (narrate) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Be moderate in prostration and do not rest your forearms along the ground like a dog.'"

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ انْبِسَاطَ الْكَلْبِ اللَّفْظُ لإِسْحَاقَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When anyone of you prostrates let him be balanced in prostration, and not spread his arms as a dog does.”

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَعْتَدِلْ وَلاَ يَفْتَرِشْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ افْتِرَاشَ الْكَلْبِ

“Be balanced in prostration; none of you should prostrate with his arms spread out like a dog.”

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَسْجُدْ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ بَاسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَالْكَلْبِ

"Be moderate in bowing and prostration, and do not rest your forearms along the ground like a dog." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1028)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اعْتَدِلُوا فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَلَا يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ بِسَاطَ الْكَلْبِ»

Anas reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying; Adopt a moderate position when prostrating yourselves, and see that none of you stretches out his forearms(on the ground) like a dog. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 897)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ انْبِسَاطَ الْكَلْبِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Maintain moderation in prostration, and none of you should spread out their arms like the flapping of a predator bird."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ انْبِسَاطَ السَّبُعِ

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Each one of you should straighten their prayer and not spread their forearms like a dog.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِيَعْتَدِلْ أَحَدُكُمْ فِيصَلَاتِهِ وَلَا يَفْتَرِشْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَالْكَلْبِ

“Be balanced in prostration; none of you should prostrate with his arms spread out like a dog.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 892)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا يَسْجُدْ أَحَدُكُمْ بَاسِطًا ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَالْكَلْبِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should rest his forearms on the ground during prayer like a dog."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَفْتَرِشْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ كَالْكَلْبِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Observe moderation in prostration, and let none of you stretch out his forearms (on the ground) like a dog. (Using translation from Muslim 493a)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ انْبِسَاطَ الْكَلْبِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Be moderate in your prayer, and do not spread out your arms like the spreading of a dog." This is what Yazid said, "Be moderate in your prayer."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِيالصَّلَاةِ وَلَا يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَانْبِسَاطِ الْكَلْبِ هَكَذَا قَالَ يَزِيدُ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ

"Be moderate in bowing and prostration, and do not rest your forearms along the ground like a dog." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1028)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَمَا يَبْسُطُ الْكَلْبُ

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ ولاَ يَبْسُطُ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كالكلب

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not rest your forearms on the ground like a dog when prostrating." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1103)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَفْتَرِشْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فِي السُّجُودِ افْتِرَاشَ الْكَلْبِ»

"I heard Anas (narrate) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Be moderate in prostration and do not rest your forearms along the ground like a dog.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1110)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا يَبْسُطُ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ بَسْطَ الْكَلْبِ» اللَّفْظُ لِإِسْحَاقَ

"Be moderate in bowing and prostration, and do not rest your forearms along the ground like a dog." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1028)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «اعْتَدِلُوا فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَلَا يَبْسُطُ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَالْكَلْبِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Be moderate in your prostration, and let none of you spread his arms out like the outspreadings of a dog. This is reported in the two Sahihs through the narration of Shu'bah ibn al-Hajjaj."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا يَبْسُطَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ انْبِسَاطَ الْكَلْبِ مُخَرَّجٌ فِي الصَّحِيحَيْنِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ

Anas reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying; Adopt a moderate position when prostrating yourselves, and see that none of you stretches out his forearms(on the ground) like a dog. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 897)

"إذا سَجَدَ أحدُكْم فليَعْتَدِلْ، ولا يفترشْ ذِرَاعَيه افتراشَ الكلبِ".
